Hope the camera lens is not covered with a protective nylon, check well then update your phone and clean the cameras lenses

Since you said you tried the earphones on another phone and it worked well I think you should try checking your settings. Go to settings→additional settings→accessibility→hearing→if mono audio is enabled then make sure the left and right is balanced as shown in the screenshot below. I hope it fixes it. Plus you should update your phone, I'm on 12.0.15. Cheers.
