In what is thought to be a veiled threat to the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), the Niger Delta Congress (NDC) has said “all actions by secessionist groups to annex the region shall and will be resisted” .

IPOB’s map of its proposed Republic of Biafra includes the six states of the Niger Delta — Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Edo, Delta and Rivers.

The Bight of Biafra — which the name is derived from — is off the coast of Niger Delta.

In a communique issued at the end of its stakeholders meeting in Port Harcourt on Saturday, the NDC called on Niger Delta governors to set up a regional security and intelligence outfit “to protect the lives and properties of the people of the Niger Delta region”.

The group, a socio-political organisation of ethnic nationalities in the Niger Delta established in 2019, also called for a total overhaul of the 1999 constitution to address “the aspirations of the people”.

NDC said will convene a “Niger Delta Peoples Conference” in October 2021 to address several issues affecting the people of the region, and where “major decisions” on the future of the region “within or without the Nigerian federation” will be taken.

There has been a campaign of attacks on police stations and federal government buildings in the south-east and parts of the south-south.

They are linked to IPOB, but the organisation has denied any involvement.

COMMUNIQUE RELEASED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE NIGER DELTA CONGRESS EXTRAORDINARY STAKEHOLDERS MEETING OF REPRESENTATIVES OF ALL ETHNIC NATIONALITIES OF THE NIGER DELTA, IN PORT HARCOURT, RIVERS STATE, ON SATURDAY 15TH MAY, 2021

Representatives of the ethnic nationalities of the Niger Delta at an extraordinary meeting held in Port Harcourt today, 15th May 2021, deliberated on existential issues affecting the Niger Delta peoples and the Nigerian federation in general.

The issues discussed at the meeting included the creeping secessionist attacks, terror attacks, and heightened insecurity in the Niger Delta. Also discussed was the decades long struggle of the people for economic and political autonomy, the unity of the Niger Delta, and other sundry issues.
On conclusion of the meeting, the following were resolved:

That the Niger Delta Congress (NDC) be adopted as a vehicle to drive the unification of the economic and political agitations of the Niger Delta peoples going forward;

That the governors of the six states of the Niger Delta (Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River) should as a matter of urgency setup a regional security and intelligence outfit to protect the lives and properties of the people of the Niger Delta region;

That the Niger Delta Congress shall convene a Niger Delta Peoples Conference to be held in October 2021 to address several issues affecting the people of the region, and where major decisions on the future of the region within or without the Nigerian federation will be taken;

That the Niger Delta region is an autonomous region comprising of Indigenous nationalities, and hence all actions by secessionist groups to annex the region shall and will be resisted;

That all stakeholders should actively take part in the ongoing review of the 1999 Nigerian constitution.

However, the Niger Delta Congress proposes a complete overhaul of the 1999 constitution as amended to reflect the wishes, yearnings, and aspirations of the people.

Our Supreme Leader Nnamdi Kanu leads, we follow...

Someone who says they dont want IPOB to annex them has himself already annexed more than 20 tribes in the name of a fictitious nonsense called "Niger Delta"

Niger Delta is nothing but a land grab and attach by force

What does an Ijaw man know about an Ogoja man? What does a Bini man know about an Efik man?
What does Uhrobo man know about an Ibibio man?

Absolutely nothing! So where is this Niger Delta brotherhood people keep talking about? I laugh in Swahili

We Igbos want only Igbo nation we are against Nnamdi Kanu Biafra map. meanwhile, I hope the proposal Niger delta republic does not include Igbo speaking part in niger delta because they can't be against IPOB putting them on the Biafra map while they are doing the same thing.

Horsepower .. guess you now understand why your thread was deleted yesternight

Lots of ijaw were standing with Biafra .. and truth was slowly revealing itself.. mods brought it down ..
so as to front this

Now ask

Who are those men that Ngene wrote as representatives of Niger delta people

Have you ever heard of any of them? Or seen their pics anywhere

Is not just to type gibberish and post on nairaland and call mods to push to front page .. because Ngene is an Apc figure here..

I don’t know those humans and they don’t represent me or any naija delte person

I told you yesterday ... all comments about Niger delt are type and hyped by Yoruba people,Edo people , and iteskiri..you doubted

Look up this thread from 1 to 15 comments are all Yoruba

Have you seen any Akwa cross or ijaw on this thread ... observe carefully.

There’s nothing like Niger delta congress or whatever name Ngene wrote their for the sole purpose of taking shot at IPOB
In fact IPOB have their support base in south south ..
90% of south south outside this shores are major leaders and finnacers of IPOB reason why you have their support base in Akwa cross..

Observe this thread and see Bini people jumping up and down and Yoruba throwing taunts..

There’s nothing like Niger deltas as a unit

Illiteracy is bad ... who would belive that Ngene don’t even know that Ondo IMO Abia Anambara Edo are all in Niger delta as oil producing states ?

And that Niger delta is much different from south south region coined under OBASANJO.

What a shame.

You see if Apc and this Yoruba people want to start propaganda Dey always most time leave their mind outside their body

Imagine

do Ngene know how many tribes are in Edo state
Does she know how many tribes that made up Izon ?
Does Ngene know how many tribes in akwaibom and cross river for one idiot to speak for them?

I see this thread as insulting to the minority people of south south... and what they stand for
Ngene just denied them their right to live .

with this her propaganda article.. just to spite igbos who are leading campaign against her pay master..
I weak.. this is out right gibberish for any bright mind

The article is targeted at igbos .. but you see wisdom is profitable

Imagine this kinda of propaganda in this 21th century..

Ngene
Nigerian are awoke and fully understand the deceit of present government

Even the Britain and international community understands Nigeria ... so who are you trying and fighting hard to impress

Can you do more than Awolowo that lost his son fighting to divide old eastern Nigeria ?
Or Tinubu who fought to put silyver as governor but failed because of his presence and elrufia in yenagoe that made him never visit bayelsa.. again.

Ngene we also heard this during last election with Tinubu visit to uyo with all fanfare but was disappointed akpabio lost but home and away with all rigging

Time for Yoruba media propaganda has gone forever

You can even write south south unity congress and come up with Apc humans as leaders .. we the indigenous humans knows our leaders and those we listen to.

Not just any paid government stools..

Stay always from this nonsense... it only belittle your intelligence

Will advice you kick start your Apc party next propaganda
Forget Niger delt or south south... you’re too little to manipulate over 150 minorities

Walahi Ngene you no reach..

Enjoy!

This your article Na for Yoruba and Hausa .. that don’t travel.

Tonybancarnist pls come carry your wife grin

Even this ijaws wish to stay on their Izon... walahi not this article

Total rubbish and gibberish

Even at this divide-and-rule attempt of a so-called report, who even told zombies that Igbos want "Niger Delta" in Biafra? For what kwanu? The only Niger Delta I know is Imo and Abia, plus any other Igbos in Akwa Ibom, Delta and Rivers. Wetin concern me with lazy people who depend on oil handouts?

E pain am. Tell father Zombie Lai Mohammed to use this money he's wasting to buy more houses in Dubai. He will need it very soon. cheesy wink
