Someone here bought about 23 doors directly from *Turkey.* I remembered sharing the pics of the doors here before it was sent down to naija and the pictures when we went to carry them at a warehouse in Ajao estate, Airport road, Lagos state.

To cut the long story short, he couldn’t use any of the doors when he was ready to install doors in his project. They were all bad when he was ready to install.

The guys selling most of these craps knew us and how we fall for cheap stuffs from abroad... so they always come up with different types of crap.

This is the reason why you will never see such type of doors on any of the upscale projects in places like Banana Island, Atlantic City, Highbrow Ikoyi, Parkview...

It will come down with time, as an engineer have come to realize that the price of building materials increases during the ending of the year. This is so because more people tends to build during that time, the demand placed on it is always high. Contact the nearest depot in your state, you will buy it at cheaper price. Like #2800/bag

Very correct. I wanted to ask the difference between a Welder and an Iron bender. My Structural Engineer goofed big time when I was building as I wasn't around when the building started up to decking level.

In Nigeria, there’s actually no difference.

It’s just the same way we call every Tom, Dick and Harry found on a construction site putting on an helmet - a site engineer/supervisor/PM.
It’s the same way we strongly believe the best gypsum ceiling installers are/must be Egun (Cotonou) boys.

In a typical naija construction landscape, there are actually 3 different groups of construction worker - the Hobbyist, the Amateur and the Professional.
And of course, there’s the fourth group - the highly motivated jack-of-all-trades. I call them pastoral-artisans. They work with high spirit and answer all calls.
Their energy come from series of motivational talks on creating multiple streams of income that they’ve listened to over the year.

Beware of the last group because they do give up easily on projects/given tasks when they cannot detect a path to succeed.

Great but if you can source for the wood from bakassi it will be better. There trees are way older than ours. Mostly from cameroun.

If you don’t attach a foreign name, people no go buy.. For a project, I manufactured all the doors right there on site (client agreement)...

Which of the Diamond Estate are you talking about? There are so many estates with that name now.

If it’s the one at Sangotedo, Lagos, the promoters did great at the very beginning but I think the residence association have taken over its management years ago after protracted legal tussle with the “owner.”

I think the most reliable estates are the ones where infrastructure development preceeds construction.
They start with proper delineation of the land/plots, drainage, security, earth road, electricity, water reticulation...

A good example of such real estate company is Megamound Investment Ltd, the promoter of Lekki County Homes

For building and finishes, Save up to 35 million first...

For carcass without roofing, you should get it done for between 10-12million
