If we started having state police, federal police will be underfunded because most of the equipment that the federal police are using is bought by the State governors

Where did I say they would be under kaduna ?

First things first there would be no kaduna or benue , there would only be tiv ,nupe , jukun , igala, idoma and the rest under a regional government called middle belt region ...ruled by one regional government with limited power ...igala would be a region , govern it's self , manage her resource , pay 30% to regional government , regional pays 30% of total revenue to federal

Each tribe have a sheriff system , regional government have police and judiciary ...tribes have provinces

Any day igala can vote to join south west region , or the tribes in southern kaduna vote to join north west

But people chose where they want to be simple

Each region can declare independence if they can get 75% vote in a referendum simple

Who would not like this idea if they don't have a secret agenda

With the amount of tribes in Nigeria, this is a catalyst for constant tribal wars.

Restructuring for state resources control is the best, regional government will not work in Nigeria with some major and minor Tribes with and without viable resources.

Every tribe would live as an independent province ..or join willingly with others to form a province based on their own agreement ...I wonder how that would be cause for problems

Gbaamm!!! For those asking for the meaning of restructuring. This is it oooo.

SmartPolician:

Regionalism cannot work in Nigeria because Nigeria has lots of tribes. How can Kaduna and Benue be under the same region?

Instead, the state should control their resources and the police (just like the US) and pay tax to the center.

Over time, the national grid NONSENSE has to be unbundled; states should use their resources to generate, transmit and distribute power.

Lawal is a geography student not a law student, he graduated with quota system not because he merit to passes his exam papers. So some how he's an illiterate.

Yes he's an illiterate, because an elected personal that swear oath of royalty to an elected president, and his doing everything possible to protect his dead alive master.

He swear oath of office with fraudulent 1999 Constitution to betray Nigerians.

With lawal Nigerians cannot get what they want from government, Lawal is the main executive tool Buhari had.

The governor's should go ahead with state reg and make ban on open grazing a law in their state and use state vigilante to enforce the law as hishbab is doing at North.

They don't need the dead alive Lawal

There are various communal, ethic and tribal clashes going on around the country, in different states already. Or you want to pretend that you don’t know those exist? Tribes are still fighting for territories in different states.

All the Southern Senators should team up and initiate Impeachment proceedings against this Lawless Lawan. I am sure they will have support from senators from states like Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa and Kogi

What u should ask is why they happen ? Cause outsiders drew the map mixed things up , those are very easy cases to resolve ordinarily of Nigeria was working

No they are not, if they cannot be resolved now that the government wields more power, it’s not when power has been given to the people that it would be resolved. Stop living in dreamland

Most of those issues are in the state courts, majority of which are already over stretched with communual conflicts that also involves the FG. If resources is an issue in the said clash, it is very easy for the FG to step in (as was done in zamfara). should the country be restructured, such issues are left to be supremely handled by the state town planning. Not sure even the courts.

Who do you think made him the Senate President?
Have you forgotten how the presidency during their first tenure fought tooth and blood to make him the Senate head before David Mark tykwando style brought in Saraki?
That is why he is described by his colleagues as Rubber Stamp because he is eager to do his mater's bid

This Lawan doesn't seem to understand the work of the legislative assembly. He's too quick to align with the executive as if he was appointed by the executive. Reason why they are called "rubber stamp" assembly.
I have always thought Lawan is vacuous.
Now I'm certain.
Rubber-stamp 100%.
Now he's trying to rubber-stamp his rubber-stamped colleagues too.

The solution to our problem is regionalism simple and short ...6 regions operating in a federation simple with each having right to go if they chose to simple

Unity should never be forced

We can also use regions without breaking up the country itself, if each region is allowed to govern itself as its sees fit.

Laws will be made peculiar to each region. Policing and economic policies peculiar to each region. The monopoly of power by the president will be cut off.

Advantages are: resource control by each region sending 10 - 20 % to federal. Competitiveness between regions on development and IGR. Above all, there will be relative peace in the land.
