In my previous version 12.0.1 beta version I occasionally do have my phone freeze but on this update I haven't experienced the freeze. Battery life seems to have improved.

That's my observation thus far

Abeg I am noticing one thin screen guard on it. Is it something I can remove later when I have money for screen guard or it is fixed with the phone like that?

It's all phones, at least from my experience. I don't use a xiaomi phone but still experience same on my phone when my data is running out.

My other phone doesn't do that. Maybe it has to do with the Android version.
