Good day nairalanders.. some SWAT police arrested some igbo people having their igbo meeting in gospel foundation church, new poultry, Tunga Maje on sunday 16th May 2021 and tagged them IPOB.

They were arrested in broad day light and taken to God knows where.

So far no calls, no whereabouts..we are all clueless.

My aunt's husband happens to be one of them, she has been devastated ever since and she is pregnant.. I'm just scared for her.

What can I do, like a hash tag online, on Twitter or anything at all.

Please HEEELLLLLPPPP!

@OP.

The ruling Government is very partisan. Crushing IPOB, ESN and UGM has been elevated, above all the serious problem Nigeria is facing, to the top of their ' to do' list.

Reach out to one of our top human rights lawyers and see if they can act pro bono for those arrested. Probably your only hope because Government won't respond to anyone but those sort of legal giants with clout.

As it is , IPOB is proscribed and anyone suspected of being a member can be detained indefinitely under terror laws.

Nigeria is not balanced right now so best of luck.

just normal igbo meeting. What with all the questions?

Does their outfit warrant the police to unlawfully arrest them?

What outfit are you talking about? You didn't state that in the OP.

SWAT ke?

Dem don enter am be that. As long as they're not members and not conducting meeting of a proscribed group by the government, they shall return but gut to devote your time, resources and energy into finding them. Don't forget to make it public outcry while searching for them. They'll just be used as replacement for high criminals in the the Nigeria prison.

Good luck.

someone's relative has been Abducted and you are asking silly questions. What kind of a human being are you?

Someone will just write something with no iota of evidence and you will outrightly believe it.
Yes the police and Nigerian system in entirety is the worse anyone can find anywhere, but does that mean you should just believe anything you see on the social media with out valid prove.?

You guys should be smart, recently an arrest was made in the same Gwagwalada about a guy who trained this IPOB armed wing and lots of things were discovered there in your area. Should have given you clue that any gathering of igbos whether legal or illegal will definitely fall under the radar of security agency.
Please just stay away from anything that will stand you out for the meantime.... unless of course you feel like facing the security agents....

It is not unlawful if caught with IPOB items or any material that referenced IPOB...

I've never thought that a day will come that I will finally have to quote you....

You posted pictures of people arrested since 2020... And the op said they were arrested last Sunday...just two days ago...

There's what we called parakpo in Yoruba...And almost every tribe observe it ..Even those outside their village or town... They gather to identify themselves and to give help or assistance when need be...

Why can't these people gather? Because a faction of them is seeking for a break out? You refused letting them go and in turn try to dictate and proscribe them as terrorist group..But you will never proscribe Herdsmen killing people and carrying weapons around untouched...

What is really your problem? You refused them almost everything and yet try to frustrate them and kill them at will...Sending military battalion to massacre them in the name of operation....

Trying to depopulate them won't stop them from seeking to break out...
Try and be reasonable...

I am from the SouthSouth and I wish for restructuring and or a break out from this country....
