If you are a visitor to Canada, you cannot open a bank account. Reason is that your a need a valid means of Canadian ID to open an account. For newcomers it is usually their COPR or study permit or work permit (as the case may be)

So, i'm about to do upfront medicals and biometrics (as required for study permit) on Thurday which also requires updating the study visa application once done.

1. Should I update the SV application with the medicals and Biometrics once done?
2. Will the study visa application affect my chances of federal ITA or conflict it in any way?
3. If YES, Should I withdraw my study visa application now and wait for federal ITA?

I'm following avidly as I have just 1 day to medicals. Thanks in advance.

But my own take relates to guidance by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act on Dual intent.

"An intention by a foreign national to become a permanent resident does not preclude them from becoming a temporary resident if the officer is satisfied that they will leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for their stay" extract from the relevant section of IRPA https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/i-2.5/section-22.html.

So I think each applicant receives the benefit of a procedurally fair, individual assessment as long as they can satisfy the reviewing officers (VO) and meet all the Immigration and Refugees Protection Act and Regulations requirements.

I am inclined to believe you may not need to withdraw your study visa application given the above. This is my own view; you can await more contributions from other members then you make your decision.

finish your studies in Nigeria biko or study nursing in Nigeria. There will always be opportunities for Uk and usa with nursing. Studying Nursing is not cheap in canada nor will you get scholarship.

If you have the funds, go for it. Start as soon as you are sure. Go to the study in Canada section for more information

You can enter Cameroon even if you just do up to HND, get licensed and travel. Later, while abroad, you can run your 1year BSc Nursing online. If your course is similar to Nursing, you can start from year 2. If you like too, you can study up to BSc on campus then, get licensed in Cameroon.

how did she go herself Why not use same route.
You can check express entry if you meet the requirements https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled. The job route too is possible but hard, if she can do the ground work or hire a lawyer to do it fine. Last option is marriage, let her come marry you and sponsor you over.
