DDDEnterprises: Well, this is the first time in Nigeria history that the country is acquiring a 4th generation fighter jet. Also this is our first fighter jet that can play air superiority role (it has the capacity to engage other fighter jets in the sky). JF-17 is a formidable fighter jet. It is multi-role fighter jet. The 'JF' stands for Joint Fighter. There are three variants of the aircraft. Block I, Block II & Block III. Both Block I & Block II are currently in service. The Block III is still work in progress. The newly acquired JF-17 by Nigeria is the Block II variant. It is a air superiority fighter (air to air capability). It can destroy targets in the air both Within Visual Range & Beyond Visual Range, using it short range, medium range & long range missiles. It is a bomber (air to ground & air to sea capability). It can destroy both ground and naval targets. It can calso carry out reconnaissance mission. The fighter jet is not built for dog fight. It is less maneuverable. It is designed to shoot down other fighter jets 100 of kilometers away with it PL-12 Beyond Visual Range Missile. The aircraft is equipped with AESA radar, which is far better than the PESA radar in most Russian fighter jets-SU-30, Mig 29, SU-27, SU-35, SU-33 e.t.c. Which means this aircraft will see the Russian jets mention above first before they can see it. He who see, first shoot first. We need more of this Fighter jets. So that our air force will be able to protect the country against any external threats. 1 Like 1 Share |

TarOrfeeek:That's a fighter jets for crying out loud! Did you expect him to squeeze into that bird with the pilot or drive himself?! My concern is... Who are the irresponsible dealers that put this destructive bird into the hand babes! I just pray it won't get into the hand of Iswap same way they handed over the MRAPs 1 Like |
Re: Nigeria Inducts JF 17 Thunder Fighter Jets by olugabbie(m): 9:42am On May 23, 2021 |
TarOrfeeek: It is not a passenger plane. It designed to carry amunitions not passengers. It has only one sit. Which is for the pilot. 1 Like |
