Omanambala:They are all "our own". Simple. The best players should be invited to the national team regardless of where they are born. Tell the NFF to improve the league and grassroots football instead of blaming the wrong people. Super Eagles is not a charity case. That goes for both homegrown and foreign born players. 3 Likes 1 Share |

jihday: That average player was the livewire of our attack in our most recent games. If he was a foreigner he would be playing in Europe top clubs and ignorant Nigerians like some of us here would worship him. Look at how poorly Iheanacho is being treated just because he was a Nigerian. Choose what is important to you and I have no qualms , but I will staunchly protect my black African populace. Goodnight, sir. 1 Like |

Omanambala:So if they want to represent Nigeria, the coaches shouldn't even think of considering them according to you because they are less Nigerian. You really need to change the way you reason and teach those children the importance of hard work rather than privilege. Last time I checked anyone with a Nigerian passport has every right to represent the country even if they are born on the moon, there are lots of players of Nigerian origin in UK academies that don't eventually make it to the highest level despite all the so called privileges. Almost every single one of our current players started their professional careers in Europe, are they less Nigerian than the ones that started their careers in the Nigerian league? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Karlovych: edi287: Omanambala is right, the best players born and trained in Nigeria ( e.g. Iheanacho, osimhen, uzoho e.t.c. ) should be favored... Nigeria needs a lot of Nigerian born people sending money back to Nigeria and improving the lives of their families which will indirectly improve the economy of the states their relatives are in... A lot of the foreign born players are of no economic benefit to Nigeria and their ethnic regions.. A lot of them end up marrying whyte women and this removes money from the African/Nigerian community and encourages symbolic progress. Remember it was local players like odegbami, okocha, kanu, yekini e.t.c that gave Super Eagles the good reputation and high rankings.. if Nigeria was ranked 98 in FIFA rankings and qualified for world cup once in a while would the foreign born players want to represent Nigeria look at basketball, how many born and bred in Nigeria players are in the B'ball team How many of the foreign born Nigeria basketball players have basketball academies and families in Nigeria that they send money to How many foreign born players have houses in Nigeria 4 Likes |

codemaniacs:So in order words you are in support of favouritism when deciding who represents the country, should European clubsides stop signing Nigerian players because they deny a native an opportunity to represent their boyhood clubside. Your first paragraph has nothing to do with football likewise most of the things you wrote especially the one concerning marriage to white women, which is a very ridiculous comment. I repeat the best players should be regardless of where they are born or grew up in as long as they are Nigerian citizens. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Karlovych: the education you got was through your parents favoring you because you are their child but they could also have donated to a charity that helps less privileged boys and girls get educated. the entire backbone of europe ( mostly en:gland, fra:nce, sp:ain, portugal ) is their African colonies so it will be full blown wickedness to not sign African players, that's like asking why there are so many players of African descent in the French national team... which race, ethnicity a person marries from is very important, especially an African man/woman or a black person.. when successful black people marry outside their race or ethnicity its takes wealth out of their race or ethnicity and indirectly gives it to the who the successful black person is marrying.. I repeat the best Nigerian born and bred players must be favored.. If companies that picking Nigerians who graduated from foreign universities ahead of Nigerian graduates in Nigerian universities, Nigeria's unemployment rate will be terrible... |

codemaniacs:What rubbish!! Did Mikel, Amokachi and other SE players who married non black/African women remove value from the Nigerian community?? Are you willing to dismiss their contributions to SE because of that?? Are you aware that some of the parents of these "Foreign based" players you guys are hating on paid their dues for Nigeria before they left?? Going by your logic - the children of the homegrown players who are born abroad should be not be priority despite all their parents did for Nigeria. This envy some of you have for Foreign born players need to stop. Don't blame them for the incompetence of NFF...all it does is make you look/sound like a xenophobe. 2 Likes 1 Share |

edi287:yes Mikel, Amokachi and other SE players who married non black/African removed value from the Igbo and Nigerian community because most of their children will end marrying non-Nigerians and their wealth goes with them but Mikel, Amokachi and other SE players who married non black/African also have families and businesses in Nigeria that they will maintain until they pass on. yes the children of the homegrown players who are born abroad should be not be priority despite all their parents did for Nigeria. its not envy, its about boosting the Nigerian economy... some Foreign countries use a quota system of the amount of non-natives in their national team.. Nigeria should have a quota of at least 30% - 40% foreign Nigerians in the national team. 1 Like |

edi287: the best Nigerian born and bred players should be favored over foreign born.. yes they are all Nigerian but with different mindsets and economic benefits to Nigeria. its not encouraging mediocrity and if you call it "encouraging mediocrity" then you're saying every Nigeria born and raised in Nigeria is mediocre and below those born in europe or U.S. which is why we must include the best Nigeria born and raised players because people like you will never rate them highly and will always demean and rubbish them. 1 Like |

codemaniacs:And by how much will the economy be boosted, by National team players? Sometimes the way una dey reason eh Can you tell me one country that uses quota system for their national team? Let me tell you the truth, the mentality of our home grown players is the problem here. Not foriegn based or being biased. Many of the talents we had fizzled out due to inconsistency and lack of motivation. When an average Nigerian starts living and earning good wages abroad, it's hard for them to maintain focus and hardwork and improvement. That one was even celebrating passport the other day should tell you how they reason. Some didn't even finish school. Should we now blame NFF for that? It's their fault alone. Any player that indicates interest for Nigeria and is eligible and of adequate performance should be invited, whether born in Mars and Raised in Pluto, I don't care. The only thing I don't like is endless pursuit of someone who has eyes elsewhere. 1 Like |

Omanambala: We know you don't like Ndidi and you'll do your best to pull him down at any chance you get. But I'll ask you to list 10 DMs in the world better than him with stats. You prefer Azubuike, we understand. But it's nobody's fault that his career is stagnated. We want the best in our team and Ndidi is the best we have. If Azubuike wakes up tomorrow and starts to churn out good performances, we'll be invited but for now...oga dead that Azubuike talk. Lastly, for someone who claims to have 4 children born abroad, you need to tone down on your hate for foreign borns. Would you prefer your son who plays for West Ham or Crystal Palace to be dropped for someone in Akwa united or a nigerian born and bred in Austria Salzburg? I hope this your hate for foreign borns doesn't come back to haunt you. If it's your son that's involved would you still agiatate for Nigerian born and bred? Nigerian born and foreign born all na Nigerian. It's not their fault they were born in a better environment. Everyone wants the best for their kids. No be crime. If me sef see chance I go japa and make sure my kids are born abroad!!!!! 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Omanambala: Believe you me, onyekuru no get ambition, afraid of challenges, monaco have become stable now,he's no where to be found, when he could have fought for a shirt,by now he'll probably be one of their key players, the monaco he's running from is the one small kreptin diatta just signed for,I won't be happy with onyekuru if diatta turns out very good for monaco. 1 Like |

JohnBullMySon: every country uses quota system... they check the highest goal scorer in the elite league in their country, the highest assist, the highest tackles, highest chances created... statistics was and is built to pick the highest performing person in any field and that's quota system.. most Nigerian players from the 90s till early 2000s were using football age and they "fizzled out" due to their body not being able to continue with the pace of the league they played in.. o:simhem, c:hukwueze , i:heanacho, n:didi, a:woniyi, o:dey, o:layinka, u:zoho, z:aidu e.t.c. have not fizzled out and will not fizzle out in the 5 - 10 years.. yes N:FF is to blame for not picking players with real age, mikel, martins, odemwingie, ike uche, o:binna nsofor e.t.c. all had long careers even the likes of o:kocha, kanu, finidi, yekini, oliseh, babangida, ikpeba e.t.c. had long careers... |

codemaniacs: I think the problem with most Nigerians is that we have been mentally brutalized and damaged that we cant even muster a little strength to think and analyze things in a pragmatic way. Everything is emotion laden and sentiments induced. These foreigners , especially the English add very little quality to our game. These boys are mostly opportunists, but some of us here think they are doing us a favor and we must worship them. I am not saying players like Balogun and Ebuehi are not good enough but if we must take these foreigners then they must be the very best and towers above what we have. Like you pointed out, economic-wise , they bring little to nothing to the table. They marry white women and these women, invest their money abroad, make mixed children and it's over. It's players Kelechi, Musa , Osimhen , Chukwueze etc that will bring wealth back and add to the economic growth which Ekong , Ebuehi , Balogun etc will definitely marry white women and their offspring will disappear in the western world. But, you have to understand and pardon these Nigerians. Most of our people have poor sense of reasoning. Take a look at the state of our nation , it's a testament of the kinds of people that live in it. Most Nigerians are inferiors. They think very little of themselves and never fight for what they have. Some people here still rate Rohr above Keshi...lol |
