Covenant University has announced over 200 students graduate with first class grade in the 22nd convocation ceremony organised by the institution on Staturday. Some Nigerians have however reacted to this announcement from the University. While social media users are believed to take a swipe on any situations, this time it’s in favour of the varsity. This announcement of 201 first-class graduates have become a trend on social media, especially Twitter. Below are reactions f some users; While Covenant University is giving their First class students their due grades, government universities & their lecturers keep failing students, asking for sex for grades, keeping A for God, & giving extra year to any one that does not cooperate One day we will discuss this This covenant university & first class grads debate reminds me of a prof in UI who told us “I will frustrate you to fail, and you will FAAAIIILLL”. He made many cry. He was highly revered & later became the DVC Academics. Public education in Nigeria adore sadism. A failed system. Covenant University is producing first class graduates, making their students able to compete on the world stage, giving them a bright future. My university lecturers are saying “Grade A belongs to God” and ruining the lives of students who roam around screaming Greatest Gbogbo. https://www.ngtimes.net/2021/05/social-media-users-react-covenant-university-201-first-class.html 1 Like

Everyone is intelligent. The only thing is some are forced to do courses they don't like and have no passion for..also we don't good lecturers that will teach u well and a good learning environment..they got those results primarily becos they left their phones at home and not aNd distracted with outside world |

Something's will never change until the people do something about it. Only language most Nigerians hear is violence. They should stop yapping online and fix their mess. Sex for grade? Let the whole school beat up the lecturer involved. Other lecturers will behave. Grade A belongs to God? Send boys to threaten his aging parents and brand them like cows. The rest will behave. No one has d monopoly to suffer anyone. Problem easily solved. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Everyone is smart when given the opportunity and right tools. Kudos to them. A school where lecturers won’t frustrate you and all the learning tools are there 2 Likes |

Hmm. The news is finally normalized. I remember when it happened the first time, a lot of public and state schooled graduates wrote epistles of filth, claiming that their second class lowers were superior to these first class holders. Anyone who has met a covenant university graduate in the workplace would quickly change their tune. Those children are true worker bees. 1 Like |

I just placed this feat vis-a-vis University of Jos and I've not stopped laughing. A lady got first class in my department, the first of its kind, and I learnt the department had to call a meeting to decide her fate. One person o! |
