I don't think this is enough reason to sack a staff, except it goes against their policy

Onepeople:
this has exposed your intentions with the said prayer ,if you are seriously seeking a divine help from God for your loved Nigeria, you will never insult others believe, if some people believe in the dissolution of the country what is wrong about that?
Don't her. She might be the sacked staff self.

They will open their mouth and say prayer point like, every demolic person working against the unity of Nigeria.

They deserve the sack letter

Some of those kids are children of people who believe in Odua Republic or Biafra Republic, some of them have bad experience with Nigerian Army

The owner of the business is only protecting her investment which she suffered to raise capital for
That investment will crumble if she is paying anything to the purse of the same Nigerian government

Even in the face of terror in US, they will still say God bless America

Follow the organisations protocol and don't invent your own idea as a worker especially if it's a company owned by someone running it themselves

Schools have curriculum for a reason, never go beyond it...

Leave other people's children out of your religious and Political affiliation
.

How does praying for Nigeria and observing a minute silence for the victims of the plane crash relate to religious and political affiliation and "her religious and political affiliation" if I may ask you? Your mind wrongly processed information just like that of the proprietress. What a nation of fanatics, bigots, haters and intolerant dumbos!

Coldshisha:

My sister I pray God bless you and your cousin to own a business of your own in this crazy economy, then you'll understand the owners perspective

Private school business is very competitive , so you please the parents and avoid issues that can make them withdraw their kids

Religious and political issues are strictly a no go area for a business man, [s] that's why people like Dangote or Tony Elumelu never grant political or spiritual interviews [/s]

What's political or religious about her action? You guys are tagging an act of patriotism a political and religious issues. Those who died in the crash, which party did they belong to? Were they Muslims only or Christians only? Praying for Nigeria is neither political nor religious. What a messed up society!

chatinent:
She should learn to follow the school rules and regulations, and not bringing fetishism into the school system.

I am certain this is not the whole story. She may have forced the students to do it, even those whose religious background do not permit it.

A minute silence for the dead is diabolic! Praying for a dead thing is crazy
!

Lol. In Nigeria that is full of Christians and Muslims or in another country? Come up with another excuse that makes sense my friend.

That School Should be closed. What an effrontery. She should move her school out of Nigeria soil.

She deserves to be punished for being a sadist

Whenever an American citizen wake up in the morning, they will pray that God should bless America.

This country is turning to something else and i dont think Nigeria can ever balance again, my cousin who works in a private school got back home after the proprietress sacked her for asking the student to pray for the redemption of Nigeria, and also telling the student to observe a minute silence for the COAS and the military personnel that lost their life in the plane crash.

Is it a crime to pray for one's nation again?
The woman is an enemy of the nation for her to have rejected prayer for our dear nation.

So why not a query and warning
Why a straight sack
This doesn't qualify as gross misconduct by any stretch of imagination!!!

somehow:
I have noticed that those who keep wishing where they reside bad mostly end up not progressing.

Maybe it's nature's way of giving you what you deserve.

If you keep wishing your child or family evil, evil keeps following you up and down. (Your country is your family)

This is the law of nature and does not listen to any religious affiliations.

Whatever you think in your heart and say with your mouth will one way or the other haunt and come to reality first in your life before venturing outside.

You must be posting this from an alternative reality

She might have been given a stern warning if it was just the prayer, but she went overboard with the minute silence thing.

she has'nt done anything bad, i dont think it is a sin praying for nigeria.

Nobody says it's a sin, what we are saying is her obeying the rules of her organization. Obviously, while writing her letter of employment, she promised to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the school and when she violated it, she was sacked.

It's high time we stopped bringing sentiment into issues. Nobody is against her religion or spirituality but violating laid down rule is a no no

Prayer kee her there. Who prayer epp? She wants to inculcate the spirit of laziness on those children.

Catholics have been praying for Nigeria for forty years now yet it gets worse.

Forget prayers and teach children hardwork.

Firstly,it's still a one sided story. Secondly,it depends on her character in the School or relationship with the proprietor. If the proprietor can share his own part of the story, then one can easily express his own opinion

Good evening, There's an ongoing prayer for Nigeria as a whole...; it's a chain prayer of 50,000,000 people. Say the prayer and pass it on to others.

_"Oh Lord, our God Almighty, Mighty are Your miraculous works. We stand in awe of Your Holy Name. Lord, we bow in prayer for our nation, asking that You, please, forgive us and revive our nation, rekindle Your deliverance over Nigeria and break the backbones of Satan and its agents storming this country. Deliver Nigeria from the hands of greedy, selfish leaders and from terrorists. By your mighty power of resurrection restore Nigeria's lost glory. Make Nigeria great and habitable again for us all. Destroy the evil plans of the wicked ones in this country, in Jesus Name, AMEN._

Please forward, don't break the chain.
Thank you.
