This country is gone , they want referendum, give it to them and religion will still divide them... what's the fuss about? If this gesture were to be from a Christian governor, am sure it won't have gathered this much hatred (online) yes online bcus that's where Nigerians spread their hatred. What's the difference btw sending someone to study quran and Arabic language and sending someone to study medicine? Are they not humans? Don't they deserve equal opportunities? So bcus one does not have a passion for what you guys deem to be development, then they should be sidelined? What shortage needs in the state necessitated paying for these studies?

There is not enough Allahu Akbar in the North?

Allahu Akbar studies is severely lacking in the North of Nigeria more than AI, Machine Learning, Manufacturing, Data Science, Physics, Peace Studies, Policy & Development etc.?

When sane society is investing heavily in robotics, data science and other technological innovations which is the future of the world, the idiot is sending people to go and study Quran so that they will come back and become spiritual advisers to terrorists.

Northern Nigeria never ceases to amaze me.

It is obvious from this kind of development that Northern Nigeria will continue to set Nigeria backward.

In this decade of space exploration by countries like China this is what the north is showcasing to the world.

SEND THIS KIDS TO STUDY AGRICULTURE AND MODERN WAY OF LIVESTOCK REARING.

What will Koran and Arabic knowledge take these children to in this decade of technological advancement?

Yobe state is at the pinnacle of impoverished states in Nigeria. It doesn't help that it is neck-deep in battle with insurgency and the likes.
The Governor who's obviously bereft of germane home grown ideas didn't send those students to study courses that would benefit the war-ravaged state, instead, he's sending those chaps as sheeps among wolves; to be further indoctrinated.
