This thread has more insults than "meeting of minds".
I like going against the grain. I read about systemic racism , glass ceiling when it comes to whitey vs bleks.
Then bleks in Fruited plains think they are superior to Umudikeans in terms of wealth, intellect and world views.

Hahaha

Bro the irony is just too much. People who have no knowledge about your dealings aside from political debate on this forum thinks they are better than you or richer because they are in another country.

Children don't even think like that these days. Even the kkk don't stoop to that low.

And they run three pages of threads on how Umudikeans ( a badge I might wear in honor) cannot get a visa .

We should be better than that. We are all anonymous here and there are strict rules about doxxing.
I rest my case, but please dont get into my space.

This is not what the article says or implying. The article never said blacks lack the skills to be doctors. I don't know how you came to that conclusion
not what the article is implying? undecided reading most definitely isn't understanding! cry ''talking about blacks lacking the inclination and skills to become neurosurgeons as compared to basketballers'' implied what else then my learned friend? The entire article is overtly and inherently racist and only parrots the tropes of white supremacists when they talk about issues agitated for by black Americans, this article can never and will never quote any academic or peer reviewed study post civil right movement as inference neither can it quote any reputable statistics collating body because all that jargon are just talking tropes and opinions of white supremacists and nothing else, I am ashamed for bascilico that as a black man he can descend this low to quote this vile racist rubbish in a bid to justify an indefensible stance.
This article if you are even allowed to call it that totally divorces cause from effect, and the causes it ascribes to certain effects are at best misdirections and misrepresentations! Saying things like the break up of the black family unit happened in and of itself without mentioning the requirements for black family units to benefit from government housing projects, the stifling of the blue collar jobs in the manufacturing sector which black men benefited from, the removal of blue collar/vocational education from the school curriculum! The targeted flooding of black neighbourhoods with drugs by the F.B.I under Hoover and subsequent directors might look like isolated issues but when put together any analyst worth his certifications will deduce the sinister govt backed progrom aimed directly at black people especially the black man, juxtaposed with the proliferation of private prison coys, prison labour and targeted arresting and incarceration if coloured people to feed the prison system you still blame black people for the multigenerational effects of all these apparently not stand alone policies? I have not even talked about redlining, denial of access to credit, sabotage of black businesses and start ups, murder, lynching, destruction of any black centres of excellence or any symbols of black excellence like black wall st in Tulsa of recent memory, Richmond in Virginia e.t.c you are here parroting racist narratives that have long been discredited and rebutted and this exactly is why critical race theory should be exhaustively taught and dissected in all schools or the problems of the past and present will still be present in the future, you can not divorce the challenges of today's black Americans from multigenerational frustrations by white policy makers neither can you divorce the advantages of the modern day white Americans from the multigenerational pro white policies of white policy makers.

Thanks to social media in this internet age people have eyes to judge things for themselves.

This current conflict really exposed them, they bombed a media and residential building knowing that Gaza is densely populated they had one elevator and were given less than an hour to flee with those number of people. The international community kept mute but Belarus arrested a journalist Eu and USA is flexing muscles the one that happened in Gaza is that not also an attack on Press freedom?

They kept mute saying Isreal has a right to defend itself against an occupied people with no military but terrorist who were even provoked to throw rockets. Now people are saying that Belarus too has a right to defend itself. You can see the hypocrisy right?

I was really disappointed in their response to Gaza and the shameful silence to what Isreal was doing
one thing about being a liberal in this current generation is consistency of standards. This is what conservatives fail to grasp that we hold our selves, our friends and our adversaries to the same standards unlike their holding briefs for hypocrisy without any shame! If Israel has a right to defend itself then Belarus must have that right too or the hypocrisy becomes apparent and that is why the best form of leadership is by example and unfortunately today's America is no model in leadership

When Twitter and Facebook controls what people share they rob people the privileges of judging for themselves.

Hamas uses the same building as AP and the building was destroyed and rightly so. Hamas uses schools and medical facilities to do their operations knowing if Israel attack innocent people will die. Something you have not complained of.
You also don't say freedom of press when Facebook and Twitter was censoring NYpost. You supported the suppression of press.

For years before now Israel has been linient or don't respond when hamas shoot rockets into Israel. This has been happening almost on a daily or weekly basis for years before this time. And why Israel respond with force? Because hamas shoot a lot of those rockets at one time. They feel the are empowered by Iran and they can overwhelm the defence system. These people don't care about the innocent people that will die because of their declaration of war. They were only calling for peace because their plans to overwhelm iron dome failed. The sad part is that Iran is taking data from how Israel operates and hamas is used to do their dirty work.
Israel has shifted focus to Iran now. Despite the strategic bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities and a couple of hours ago Iran's drone factory, Iran is not stupid enough to directly attack Israel because they know they are not equipped enough to face Israel. So why is hamas that has nothing compared to Iran always quick to start a fight?
and how do you know all that? undecided because Israeli and western media said so right? What do you know about the black panther movement if I may ask? I bet you mainly know about their stance to take up arms and return violence for violence when necessary, do you also know they ran clinics, schools, immunization programs, community centres e.t.c? But did the media tell you that? What then makes you think you know everything about Hamas except the negative headlines the media has been giving you over the years? Think about it! Remember at one time the A.N.C was branded a terrorist organisation by both the apartheid regime and their western government backers so did that truly make them terrorists? When a weaker group goes against a conventionally arrayed juggernaut it adapts guerrilla tactics, same as in South Africa, Palestine, the ESN here in Nigeria, the rebels in the southern Cameroon, e.t.c what we must do is not only judge them by their tactics from an outside perspective but also by their agenda from the perspective of those they represent, for me apart from their pledge to the destruction of Israel which no rational person me included will stand for, hamas is fighting a legitimate fight! As legitimate as that of the A.N.C, from an outsiders perspective I can never support their suicide bombing, rocket attack e.t.c but then again from their perspective I can't claim I will do differently, they are simply working with the tools they've been given and that is that. I will not presume to know their pain better than them, a two state solution by moderate leaders on both sides is the only way forward as going by current trends the U.S won't always be zionist Israel's ally and come that day Israel for all their military strength will also be needing a peaceful resolution.
Funny enough, fifteen to twenty years ago I was a hard-core zionist myself grin and always wondered what effing reason our pro independence leaders and rulers back then chose to identify with the Palestinian cause rather than that of the Israeli, I sincerely hope that I aged to become wiser

please show a single statement from AP or AL Jazeera showing Israel in a positive light.
An 11 story building with one Lift.An hour to evacuate. Israel called tenants in that building, sent texts to them and even sent a missile without a warhead to tell the tenants to evacuate. Which other military does that. Warn civilians to get out of the way?
Oh there was one . When the Americans dropped a nuclear bomb they had adviced the Japanese to evacuate.
AP is a media house.they knew Hamas had offices there.

The bolded compared to what was said in the article below
The reason why Blacks are underrepresented among neurosurgeons, for example, is the same reason they are overrepresented in the NBA, the NFL, and in many areas of entertainment. It is fundamentally a matter of inclination, availability, skill, and talent.

This says inclination(interest), availability, and skills and talent. All these reasons apply to both the reason for neurological surgeon and sports(NFL, NBA). No where was the word LACK used. You inserted that word to change the meaning. The same reason can be given for nurse and engineers in contrast to women vs men. All he is saying is interest in a particular field(inclination) and this brings about skills, availability and talent. In other words in other for you to be a neuroscientist you have to show inclination first then your skills and talent will grown as you make yourself available.

Blacks are under represented in swimming gymnastics and extreme sports. This is not because they can't do all these things, but it is because they don't take risk or risk their lives compared to whites.

You did not refute anything the article said you just call it racist. The article talks about where blacks excel in and where whites do you added the word Lack attribute to blacks and call it racist. Meanwhile the article did not do that.

THE ARTICLE ALSO GAVE ANOTHER REASON.
Children from broken families are also far more likely to underperform in school, which is one of the reasons why Blacks are underrepresented in professions that require high levels of educational attainment such as neurosurgery.

The article says more likely because in reality the greatest neuro surgeon in the world who happened to be a coon thanks to our black brothers calling him that. Grew up in a single parent home and in poverty. Ben Carson is who he is

and pray tell us what do skills and talent infer then? undecided maybe you're unaware about the brain vs brawn dichotomy in racist commentaries, blacks being ascribed excellence in brawny endeavours while whites being ascribed excellence in brainy endeavours is the inherent racism that apparently sailed past you! Interest does not bring skills, talent is something that is inate which manifests under the right circumstances and the expression of this talent becomes skill. Inclination does not infer talent or skill only interest. The racism here is the belief that blacks are naturally brawny and physical while whites are naturally brainy and brilliant! Hell! I grew up in Nigeria believing that! Where do you think that belief came from? That belief is pervasive in almost everywhere in the world not just America and it takes serious self reeducation to divorce yourself from the belief that as an average black man you're stronger than the average white man and the average white man is smarter than you. This belief is pervasive everywhere in the media, in Hollywood, in popular belief and it was many generations in crafting starting from blacks are not humans to blacks are sub par humans to blacks are unintelligent and only fit for menial drudgery so believe what you may but i surely know better! There is a reason why when a crime or suspected crime is reported in an area the one black man out of fifty in a group is automatically suspected as the guilty person given how statistically improbable that is

did Stalin and chairman Mao specifically say those policies were derived from theoretical communist ideologies they were enforcing or was it a product of expediences and political machinations? China has a communist government, is their economic success now a product of textbook communism also? You see where this argument can lead to abi? Because if communism can be responsible for the ills then in fairness it should also be responsible for the successes

No one is born an engineer. You have to show interest in engineering to build your skills and talent. Practice depends on inclination. Skills and talent want more to do with the NFL and NBA part of it but even though it will still be a matter of inclination else you can't build the skills and then be talented. The article elaborate more

Children from broken families are also far more likely to underperform in school, which is one of the reasons why Blacks are underrepresented in professions that require high levels of educational attainment such as neurosurgery.

You said "blacks being ascribed excellence in brawny endeavours while whites being ascribed excellence in brainy endeavours is the inherent racism that apparently sailed past you!" you are the one seeing it like this. Like I said in my last post the best neurosurgeon is Ben Carson a black man. The article is talking about where blacks put their interest not whether whites are smarter. Even if they do instead of you shouting racism how about you look at what the data or statistics says?

You said interest does not bring skill and I say it does. Your brain needs coaching and coaching or practice brings perfection. Yes talent could be measured on how far you can take your skills beyond the norms. This, while it is gifted, you also need practice or inclination to get there.

Blacks as a race is biologically stronger than whites which is one reason we excel in sports compared to whites. This is a fact. Also Asians tend to have higher IQ than whites this is also fact.

This statement below from you is just emotions and not making sense.

and I know about Ben Carson too but I was unwilling to bring him up and left that task to you which apparently you couldn't resist! Yes he defies the logic of their argument yet still validates it in a way when you place him on a pedestal and say hey! Ben could do it you lazy n***rs so that invalidates all your struggles because one of you did it despite all the challenges you whine about and that belief that trayvon could do it too because Ben did it ignoring that trayvon is traumatised by the execution of his brother by cops on false premises has ruined him and made him perpetually afraid, or Dwayne is weighed down by the responsibility placed on him by a mother doing drugs to escape the prison of her reality while his dad is in jail on trumped up charges and he is automatically the responsible adult in his home by the age of 14 but he should also excell because Ben did it. Bro, bring up a valid argument abeg

Tell me why are Nigerians the most successful black ethnic group in America?

You want to be in your tent and expect to be very successful without hardwork and education?
Ben Carson did it, ceo of Microsoft, Google are Indians. They did it. They are not whites. Obama did it. He became the president. In Chicago and Baltimore blacks run almost all institutions. I don't know if you want white people to become slaves for blacks before you will recognize that blacks have the same opportunity to excel as whites.

Why is it always black vs whites? Asian Americans are on top of the list isn't it?

that is the problem benalvino, you're not white enough to hear the dog whistling behind those statements so as a black man you take it at face value. Phrasing it in terms of where black put their interests and coining it inclination is the entire joke that is on you! I repeat inclination only denotes interests not talent which is inate and skill which is revealed by circumstances and subsequently developed upon. And if you follow my train of thought you will understand why blacks have the inclination towards sporting excellence as those are the success stories they're exposed to, those are the faces they can identify with that made it out of the projects, sportstars, musicians not doctors and definitely not neurosurgeons! Blacks are inclinated towards securing the next meal and staving of hunger, something white would be neurosurgeons take for granted because why won't they strive for academic excellence when feeding, shelter and financial security are already guaranteed as a result of favourable multigenerational government policies I talked about and the old boy club patronage? Accept the fact that the path to success isn't equally paved for blacks as compared to whites.

And trust me, I am not the one seeing things the way I'm seeing it, the policing of black people in malls and stores says I'm right, the questioning of the right to be present in certain neighbourhoods says I'm right but believe what you will, it's your right

GalaticHorde:
did Stalin and chairman Mao specifically say those policies were derived from theoretical communist ideologies they were enforcing or was it a product of expediences and political machinations? China has a communist government, is their economic success now a product of textbook communism also? You see where this argument can lead to abi? Because if communism can be responsible for the ills then in fairness it should also be responsible for the successes

Mao Ze Dong?
China ruling party is communist.
Their market is liberalized with private entrepreneurs getting their ROI.
Ditto Russia.

That change from total govt control came after they watched how other capitalist countries had advanced .
In any case not every Russian was a communist. When they came to power they enforced communism , and retain power forcefully. Same case to China. Once communists acquired power they enforced it on the populace.

Nigerians went to America on a clean slate, not with a father, cousin, brother, grandfather in jail, not with parents heavily indebted with mortgage loans, not with a sister in rehabilitation for drug use, not with the portrait of a grandfather's junior brother who was lynched, not with the portrait of an uncle who died in Vietnam at age 18, not with the knowledge of that bro still in the hood who went to college but is still jobless because his family doesn't have any old boy connections and his name is too niggerish white employers automatically know he's black and won't call him back despite multiple applications, not with the knowledge that growing up you know a childhood friend who was shot by the police or another who sold drugs to feed, not with the depression and hopelessness these life experiences burdens you with like the belief that your life isn't worth anything, that no matter how hard you struggle or how right you do you won't succeed unless you are a rapper or basketballer. Yes Nigerians have a relatively clean slate and can afford to be goal oriented with very little distractions.
And also we compare black with whites because they're opposite sides in terms of opportunities Asians have largely been ignored and allowed to thrive in the middle

I know all that, my question is, is this success a successful communist policy? Can we ascribe this economic success to communism?

Could you prove anything they say wrong?
You had to twist what they said to make it look racist but the original words of theirs was far from your conclusion.

These days it is easy to call anything racist and most time it is used to shutdown a conversation.

One thing you need to understand is that blacks needs to empower themselves as well. Instead of them looting and burning black business for attachments, they should be thinking of protecting it because it employs one or two other black people.

In the UK, you can hardly find a non Muslim working in any instabul kebab. Muslims employ themselves or Arabs employs Arabs. Sometimes they bring a family member from their original country to work for them. The Chinese do the same. You hardly go to a Chinese fast food and see non Chinese working there. You can ask Ibime for his take on this. This is my observation. The people who don't really open business are blacks so they mostly rely on other race to employ them. I find it disturbing. When I go to Peckham in London to buy stuff that can make me feel like home, I am very surprise to see Arabs selling bolle, jellof rice and egusi soup but I don't see Nigerians working in the store. Maybe they are in the kitchen I don't know. But in life there is a little bit of connection that can help. For example you work in a firm, me as a friend of yours will stand a great chance to get into that firm if you recommend me than someone who is going in directly. This things too play a part.

I moved from Wales to London to work in a company because a friend recommended me.
