Nigerians went to America on a clean slate, not with a father, cousin, brother, grandfather in jail, not with parents heavily indebted with mortgage loans, not with a sister in rehabilitation for drug use, not with the portrait of a grandfather's junior brother who was lynched, not with the portrait of an uncle who died in Vietnam at age 18, not with the knowledge of that bro still in the hood who went to college but is still jobless because his family doesn't have any old boy connections and his name is too niggerish white employers automatically know he's black and won't call him back despite multiple applications, not with the knowledge that growing up you know a childhood friend who was shot by the police or another who sold drugs to feed, not with the depression and hopelessness these life experiences burdens you with like the belief that your life isn't worth anything, that no matter how hard you struggle or how right you do you won't succeed unless you are a rapper or basketballer. Yes Nigerians have a relatively clean slate and can afford to be goal oriented with very little distractions.
And also we compare black with whites because they're opposite sides in terms of opportunities Asians have largely been ignored and allowed to thrive in the middle

Long stereotype. When you are faced with problems you work hard.
When everything is offered on a silver platter most will tend to relax especially if they don't have a mentor or role model.

Claiming you are jobless because all your college mates are still not employed is self defeatist.Though it depends on the course undertaken.Pray how many openings are available for specializations like how leaks of oil pipelines underground can poison drinking water?Or how building a wall will affect a rare species of butterflies,

Could you prove anything they say wrong?
You had to twist what they said to make it look racist but the original words of theirs was far from your conclusion.

These days it is easy to call anything racist and most time it is used to shutdown a conversation.

One thing you need to understand is that blacks needs to empower themselves as well. Instead of them looting and burning black business for attachments, they should be thinking of protecting it because it employs one or two other black people.

In the UK, you can hardly find a non Muslim working in any instabul kebab. Muslims employ themselves or Arabs employs Arabs. Sometimes they bring a family member from their original country to work for them. The Chinese do the same. You hardly go to a Chinese fast food and see non Chinese working there. You can ask Ibime for his take on this. This is my observation. The people who don't really open business are blacks so they mostly rely on other race to employ them. I find it disturbing. When I go to Peckham in London to buy stuff that can make me feel like home, I am very surprise to see Arabs selling bolle, jellof rice and egusi soup but I don't see Nigerians working in the store. Maybe they are in the kitchen I don't know. But in life there is a little bit of connection that can help. For example you work in a firm, me as a friend of yours will stand a great chance to get into that firm if you recommend me than someone who is going in directly. This things too play a part.

I moved from Wales to London to work in a company because a friend recommended me.
your last three paragraphs I can agree with, look I am not absolving black people of faults in their own struggles, I'm just saying the self hate, the infighting are all part of the social engineering to put black people as a race down! That is the reason why most white owned big record labels do not censure rappers when they target and incite violence against each other, describe black ladies as bitches, glorify thug life and prison incarceration but will censure a call for action against racist cops and institutions, belittling the holocaust, disparaging rape victims, homosexuals and what not! Why are the evils against blacks seen to be normal and less evil that the evils against other groups? It is down to social reprogramming at a multigenerational level and if you can't accept that truth then I leave you to your conscience

Ill try not to down that path from now on.
And who was lecturing you?

you called it a long stereotype and not a lie or halftruth! Your experiences define you and if you say it shouldn't matter then good for you! And America isn't the only place where this kind of psyche is a manifest issue for the black population, similar obtains in Brazil and South Africa but still since it doesn't affect you then it surely is merely conjenctural right? undecided

one thing about being a liberal in this current generation is consistency of standards. This is what conservatives fail to grasp that we hold our selves, our friends and our adversaries to the same standards unlike their holding briefs for hypocrisy without any shame!
Now you are playing Jon Snow.

Leftists applying the same standards they set for others to themselves?

The same Leftists who downplayed Hillary Clinton's "Deplorable" quip?

The same Leftist media who refuse to report on LeBron James tweeting and calling for the lynching of a police officer who simply saved a black girl who was being murderously attacked with a knife by another black girl by shooting the attacker?

The same media who conveniently were reporting other news items but ignored the biggest newstory of that week following the shooting? The same media who never called for LeBron James to be banned from social media, dropped from sponsorships and be cancelled for putting a target on a police hero?

The same media who conspired to punish Trump for the January 2021 Capitol Riots even though there was no evidence that he called for the invasion?

The same Leftists who continue to praise LeBron James as a hero even though he hasn't apologized for putting an innocent police officer's life in danger?

The same Leftist Loonies who have suppressed tweeting or writing about the Chrissy Teigen scandal because she reverberates Leftists talking points even though she's a promoter of cancel culture herself for erring public figures, especially on the Right? See how I am citing readily available evidence?

Leftists hold themselves to the same standards as others? Don't spread falsehood when I am around - I'd bust it.

First off, there's no such thing as "noises" as used in the context you used. If you want a chance at squaring up to me, the least you can do is not being dyslexic as articulation would be as stretch.

Secondly, you should stick to being what your name depicts - a staff in biblical tales which shape-shifts to snake forms on command. Or maybe you'd enjoy getting bashed on the streets of Nairaland - only this time, water wouldn't be gushing out but your self esteem plummeting . smiley

We do not live in a "should world" in which I should be the world's president!

We live in a real world, where it is as seen with your two eyes except by those who refuse to see what they look at and those who cover their eyes so they may not see at all.

And if this were Sunday morning, I'd ask which one you are knowing I'd get an honest response, but its a weekday so I shall not bother.

I have dealt with this issue with him before I don't understand why he keeps making same assertions, racism doesn't exist because it doesn't affect him how does that make sense?

A white man employed him so what? does it mean he can't be racist, reminds me of the usual defence white people make when their racism is called out, they say they have black friends, in Nigeria Buhari will say he isn't a bigotry because he has a Igbo or Christian driver.

Because others experience racism does not mean a country is racist. These days saying men are biologically stronger than women is sexist. In fact traffic lights are racist. The word racism is being thrown around. There was a time racism was part of the American system. They amended all that and come a long way in race relation only for the media to take us back.

In the UK they want to abolish the police. They protested. What for? I can understand that awful idea coming from Americans but UK?

At one point they say climate change is racist. I kid you not

All I gave are issues you could easily verify.

The LeBron James issue calling for the lynching of a police officer is available easily - it's online.
The MSM not reprimanding him can be verified online.
The MSM ignoring and refusing to cancel Chrissy Teigen is open secret.

The MSM and Democratic Party refusing to punish and expel Liam O'mara, a Dem. Candidate ( asides him dropping out of the race), for threatening a black Conservative with a KKK hoodie is readily available online. The black Conservative made a police report and nothing is being done about it. In fact, verified accounts were supporting him.

Are you willing to deactivate your known accounts if I post evidence of these, including links and screenshots?

Your emotions do not count in the face of verifiable facts.

Listen to yourself.
benalvino2:
No one is born an engineer. You have to show interest in engineering to build your skills and talent. Practice depends on inclination. Skills and talent want more to do with the NFL and NBA part of it but even though it will still be a matter of inclination else you can't build the skills and then be talented. The article elaborate more
Do you see how you just said you have to have interest to practise to build your skills and talent in engineering and NBA and NFL? Yet, you want to believe there is an inclination, as in a person's natural tendency or urge to act or feel in a particular way; a disposition, that one is born with.

Now, lets say I deprive you of the opportunity to build up your skills in engineering, like if I tell you black people can not excel in engineering, and if I keep showing you blacks excelling in NBA or NFL and provide you with the means to.practice only NBA or NFL, can you see how I have inclined what you think is a natural tendency in you?

Blacks as a race is biologically stronger than whites which is one reason we excel in sports compared to whites. This is a fact. Also Asians tend to have higher IQ than whites this is also fact.
A natural tendency has been inclined in you to believe the above, that "Blacks as a race is biologically stronger than whites", despite the fact that if I tell you you can never have an IQ as high as an Asian or whites, you must insult me, and my mama and papa too! Or do you want to argue that one does not build up skills and talents by practising a lot to get strenght, or that Muhammed Ali can have just relied on being "biological stronger" to beat Henry Cooper?

Remind me. Was it not you who asked me to validate you were in UK? I forget.

Racism exist in all race. It is not a white thing. It is a human problem. Part of our nature.
I agree with you on this. We can be better humans. We can always try to be better.
