Well done guys. I have about 10yrs gap in my studies, no volunteering work experience but funds is not a problem. Please will I still be eligible for a post graduate studies in Canada? NB: I graduated with a 2.2 in English and also have a family with a PR in the country. Thanks

Cc: Frankrobbn1 @Justmellow @Adiekwe1@Lekiboboe @NairaLuck @justwise

Hello Ifiegboria,

Having a study gap is not an issue to cause hindrances or barring a person/applicant not to apply for a study visa or furthering a study.

As it relates to visa/immigration, the onus is on the applicant to demonstrate that prior after graduation; there have been gainful and/or financial activities/engagements that were/have been rewarding to count as a positive.

Hence, the reason to justify every study gap in-between to the present. Being able to convincingly justify the study gap with reasonable and verifiable activities, solves part of the puzzle to a positive decision.

You should want to consider applying to a college that offers programs or related studies to your reasons that will be used to justify the study gap, especially for experience gained in most recent time.

Best of Luck

So I did my upfront medicals on the 19th that's last week Wednesday, on Friday 21st IOM called that the results will be uploaded that day. I have been busy and not able to upload the e-medical form. I tried uploading this night only to see update of medical passed without uploading the form IOM gave me.
Heavenly Father take control... January 24th applicant.

Hello Phummy1821,

If it happens this way, then the visa office has received your medical report from IOM. Hence, why you are seeing on your timeline medicals passed.

If maybe it is requested again, you can then forward the e-medical slip given to you.

EPICUnleashed:
Hello everyone,

I am putting together my Canadian study permit application and I would like to know

I actually don't have any volunteer experience during my study gap

What advice would you give for someone like me who didn't do much during their study gap?

Thank You

@Frankrobbn1 @Justmellow @Adiekwe1@Lekiboboe @NairaLuck @justwise @Akannitommy and other gurus, please advise

Hello EPICUnleashed,

You can fill the gaps with either of:

• Paid/unpaid internship
• Voluntary works
• Apprenticeship
• Online studies
• Part-time management of a family business
• Social development/social works/health awareness promotions
• Workshops participation
• NYSC
• Short employment/probatory employment (partial pay/commission/allowances incentives)
• Online sales/digital marketing/blogging/show promoter
• etc

n.b. in any that you opt for must be the most suitable and well-related to your experience line and/or prospect study.

Hope this helps?

I want to go for a second Masters degree, what are my chances considering the factor of study progression reasons?

Hello Tonycosmas01,

Not impossible, especially if the prospect study is a tweak of the previous and/or closely related from an advanced, technical, oriental, or more professional (academic) learning.

The responsibility is on you to be able to demonstrate a study progression. In a clear sense, so many people don't find doing a Ph.D. study appealing.

There should be an anchor to demonstrate study progression and prove that you are a genuine student. It is this anchor you must search for to sound convincing by making actual sense.

Start by thinking deeply what is the general purpose and/or idea of the study and how it will be implemented to achieve your study/prospect aim.

Thank you sir

My own concern is somewhat related and preferably want a practical example

What if the main applicant is fully funded
(35k+)and got NSE request. How will I demonstrate financial strenght on the my bank statement or the upload section that I can cover for both of us in the first year.

@franklobn1
@justmellow

@ all our gurus

Hello Jonaholorun,

I believe you have at your disposal now, the evidence/proof of your full funding, and if possible, you can also request a letter acknowledging the full funding liquidation/availability to your quick accessibility upon study commencement; from your supervisor.

You can get your MBS with your available balance of maybe N500k, N1m, or more; and merge with your funding letter(s), then upload in the provided column.

Despite having full funding, it is best to try a much as possible to also demonstrate personal funds no matter how small. In the case of having no sufficient funds, if possible, get a closed family member to act as a sponsor or give a letter of support, to give strength to your financial record.

On the IMM form, you should indicate that financier of your study as full scholarship, followed by the DLI name/supervisor. The provided column has limited character space.

It’s going to one month since I applied and my eligibility review has not started. But I’m seeing people that eligibility review started for them after 2-3 weeks of applying. Should I be worried?

Hello Gracehayford1

Don't be worried, relax. You will surely get an update. If you are so anxious, request your GCMS notes to keep track of the officer's activities with your application.

Gurus in the house, I made a mistake by not uploading my NSE requirements before the deadline, I submitted it on my account some hours after deadline and it showed provided on my account. I'm worried because I'm yet to receive an email from them to confirm my submission but it have been shown provided on my status.

Hello,

First time applying, I was asked to do biometrics next day which had been updated as well. Is it advisable I do upfront medical?

Only biometrics has been requested since I applied

Good morning everyone. My uncle (Same surname with me) whom is a Canadian citizen just sent me a letter last week with his Canadian passport datapage. The content of the letter states that he will be providing me with accommodation during my studies, meanwhile I had submitted my application on the 16th of February,

Should I raise a webform and send the two documents to IRCC ?

Hello BaaleOfOntario,

At the time of packaging your application, didn't you show sufficient funds enough to cater for your 1year study and other expenses to be handled by your sponsor, and how well were you able to demonstrate good home ties?! This is just a rhetorical question.

It may swing both ways, the other is that your application may be reassessed or re-evaluated based upon the new material fact on file. Before you decide to send the letter, assess the impact and implication. Whichever outweighs the other is the impulse you should act upon.

My take is: if you think your financial strength isn't good enough, then you can send it, if not, allow your application to play out. You may want to also request your uncle's employment information to support the documents already in your possession. The letter should also contain a brief description of the apartment and available space coupled with the number of occupants.

If you mean tuition. Yes, I have, however I am yet to get my official receipt. They accept payment through GlobalPay Western Union. Go to UA website and follow the prompt on International payment, they will generate a data for you and then you pay through FORM A in the bank.

Concerning their refund policy, I sent a mail and ask about their refund policy and they say they refund. You can as well send them a mail on that, I believe they will reply you.

Hello Everyone, please I need some advice from you people....

I expected funding from my supervisor, she told me she had applied for a grant but she is expecting around June. Due to the May 15th deadline, I had to disturb her based on the urgency and she gave me some funding, (just a little over 4k) from the little funds she have. I am hoping that if the research grant she applied drop, she will offer more funding.

So I chose self funding, and then paid my tuition (8700CAD). And I have just 2mil in the account. Although I also submitted my pension account with over 1mil in the account. (I guess I can only access 25%) of that.

I am just anxious, the proof of funds part may not show enough funds for subsequent years. I had submitted my application, should I look for a sponsor that will give me a letter of support for the subsequent years and then send a webform to that effect. My biometrics is on Friday so I believe they have not started working on my file yet. I did upfront medical and it has been uploaded to Passed already.

I am also expecting some fundingand scholarships from the department, I have applied too. NB this is PhD program.
