Lemme share my story... It may help.

I graduated in 2016, served 2017 and there life started. I hustled a teaching job of 40K and home lessons of about 45K per month. During this period of about 9 monhts, I saved up about 300K or so and started my MSc in UniPORT.

Cos I knew I had no family funding for the programme, I went all out hustling. I taught my course mate courses and assisted them with their assignments for cash. I made sure I came out as the best so I can sell my sell to them so that they would know my capacity for referral.

I built my research skills that helped me open a consulting firm after finishing the programme. It started small but we are making tremendous progress.

Most importantly, I started taking God seriously. I changed church to Winners chapel followed the teachings and started giving and sowing recklessly.

Things turned out so amazing that I send money home to support them and live comfortably well.

I'm literally earning projected annual earnings in a Month currently.

It's been God all the way.

Lesson:

Put in work... Look an opportunity to provide paid service and stop focusing on job hunting.

Get serious with God and sow seeds like mad. It work bro!

All the best!
u know how many seeds I sowed during my npower days because I blive in it.d under world ppo do sacrifice. So ppo of light shud do it n also I've heard sm testimonies. But now ,it seems as if tinz are even tighter.
I dont know wat to think,I just concluded I won't b sowing again,no matter wat.let wat I've planted grow.
Sm ppo may laf at me for doing dis,its not fair.der r sm ppo dey will never sow as little as 1k,dey won't try it..I hope God's seeing dis.. Let him put dem to shame

I'm in my finals studying Petroleum Engineering and the comments I'm seeing here is nothing short of depressing.

I really had to learn some things the hard way. I have one little advice for aspirants here: DON'T STUDY PETROLEUM ENGINEERING AS FIRST DEGREE!!!

The future if the oil industry is bleak, getting a job comes with a good pay and all but the field is too streamlined so there's barely a job for 3/10th of Petroleum Engineering graduates; mechanical engineers are getting the jobs. As a PE, you can't get a job in ME but a ME can easily get a job in PE.

Did you graduate in 2016? How have you been coping?

After all these years all I can point at is a teaching job I Engaged in Fetching 15k a month. I quit tho after innumerable nonsense and pathetic experiences.

I feel like I am not doing enough. I feel like I am not trying enough. When I look at my dad and see his Grey hair, I feel like I have failed him because I am still eating his food bought with monthly pension. I am still sleeping and waking up under his roof at over 30years old.

As a child, I remembered the week when I was to enter Jss1, dad took me to a boutique and bought me a very fine white canvass. Now over the years I can't even afford to buy him a shoe. The last time I bought him anything was 2017 during my NYSC.

I feel I have failed not only him but a lot of people that hoped in me to become something reasonable. Laundry sef no work, always in the shop regretting my entire journey. Maybe I should have waited and studied another course or maybe I should have just chosen and engaged in a trade with with my 100 level tuition embarassed

I just regret everything. Under the hot sun, People will see me walking from one company to another establishment with my credentials. Most times i have to Beg for money just to move from one place to another online. The situation is that terrible

I have asked myself what I am doing wrong but I apply to jobs everyday. Or maybe I am afraid of starting a family on 15k salary just like most of my colleagues back in university. We do meet and they tell me how I am delaying in starting a family, and then goes ahead to tell me how poor their teaching salaries are and how they have had to depend on friends and family. But me I have no one to fall on.

A times I feel really sad and end up praying for those unemployed graduates going through the same phase I am phase I am passing through. Even though you don't know me, I pray for you

i feel ur pains bro....cuz ive been through such though im not where i hope to be at the moment but God be praised ...NOW MY ADVICE TO IS TO STOP LOOKING FOR A JOB RELATING TO WHAT YOU STUDIED CAUSE THERES NO JOB AT ALL...THE LITTLE WE HAVE IN THE COINTRY HAS BEEN HIJACKED BY THE BIG MEN ...SO BRO ONE JOB THAT IS VERY OPEN AND ALWAYS VACANT IS HOTEL JOB, THAT WAS WHAT I USED TO HOLD BODY AND SOUL TOGETHER ...JUST TRY AND GO TO ANY HOTEL SUBMIT UR CV THEYLL DEFINITELY CALL U.

I don't have all the answers though but I know there are ways to sow too. I do follow Oyedopo's teaching on sowing and it worked for me.

Maybe you should listen to his messages.

Even mechanical engineering is trash. The only engineering course I will advise anyone to study is electrical engineering or computer engineering. I did marine engineering which is a specialised field of mechanical engineering and getting jobs was hell. If you are in your final year and have time start learning to code now. I used to use my free time in the university to watch movies and play games. I really regret doing that now.

So many people suggesting about coding, I feel in a few years the field would be saturated too. Everyone musn't code...you have any other alternatives? I'm really open to opinions.

Coding is not saturated at all and can never ever be. I made a thread talking about that myth. Most people who start learning programming give up. At least 95 percent give up and never get to junior developer level in their chosen stack.

It's fucking difficult and takes grit to see it through and even when you think you have arrived you realise you know absolutely nothing and have to continue learning or get redundant.
