It's called stone bricks. Some people call it stone tiles.They are natural flat stones cut into rectangular shapes. I can't remember the price it was gotten.

I told you to continue with your first plan, yet you still went ahead to waste money on another that has no use. That plan you are rejecting will be replicated by some one I sent it to. If you were born and raised in PH you should be able to see that you are heading towards a 'self-induced' destruction. Good morning to you.

You messed up big time, why did you send money to someone who cursed the hell outta you in the first place, second you sounded so desperate...& he understood that...so he took advantage of you..... simple solution, cut all ties with him....let go of the 20k let him eat it.....20k is not the end of the world.....he just messed up his chances of getting more projects cos of his greed.

Next time, do not make decisions in a hurry....take time to ask questions, research a little further before you make decisions. Be always weary of certain characters in this Nairaland..... from the conversation, all the guy was interested in was the money & you were not sharp enough to deduce that....a reputable person will do the work to assist you or recommend possible solutions for you & not always be about the money...

It's quite unfortunate you fell into this, I understand what it feels like being a first time builder/owner because I was once there - the desperation and likes especially when you are running on a tight budget.
Just as someone earlier posted, we should beware of anybody on this platform who is always quick in diverting general conversations to private mode (e.g. WhatsApp, calls,).
@stanley000, please sort this out amicably and let our brother go ahead with his project, money is not easy to come by these days.

In this inflation period, one of the best responses is to stock up on needed materials and wait to use them on ongoing and upcoming projects before the costs can get out of reach. This has helped me keep a lot of costs down. I have spend the last 36 hours in and around Onitsha, buying as much building materials as possible to stock up for future use.

If you have some local funds, better tie them down on something as the naira is losing its value daily.

sir the drawings has been released to him. I have sent him all architectural drawings, if he refuses to pay my balance then he should have another person do the structural and mechanical. I have the drawings yes but I worked it out so he must pay before he gets it just like how he did for the architectural.

In times like this , If you are doing buying and selling ,, most of your funds should be in the goods you are selling , always move funds quickly back into the commodity you are selling

If you are into manufacturing, most must be in Raw materials and packaging materials , I have never had as much stock of RM and PM as I have today in the 30 years history of our company

This issue is a dicey one. Real estate may store value but how easily can it be liquidated? With the rate of inflation skyrocketing, a house valued at N100m may stay months or even years in the market without buyers. I watched a documentary about some folks who had their houses listed for sale about 5 years ago without buyers even after heavy discounts. If owners want to match rent to high cost of building materials, their units will remain vacant because income is not rising with inflation.

The situation in Nigeria now is a very big challenge even for Economists.

It's not a big challenge for economist but for a government that doesn't want to engage professionals.
Secondly, our population growth is not sustainable. Our boarder is like ant hole. Any Tom dick and Harry can come in putting more pressure on the already insufficient resources.
Thirdly, less than 5% of the population are enjoying the resources of all though looting. Funny thing is most of this loots ends up in foreign countries.

Again, our inflation is 3 fold. 1) Imported - increase in prices in other countries are translated here because we are heavily import dependent. 2)exchange rate - self defeating policy. No matter how you CBN adjust the rate, black market rate will always give it gap. Between last week and today, CBN has not made any adjustment in rate other than a website figure update, so what's fuelling the increase other? 3)greed - people want to make astronomical profit, forgetting that they too also depend on the market for other stuff.
It's a rat race.

you are welcome my oga. He refused to post the design masterpiece i gave him lol. I challenge him to post the drawing compared to the trash the previous baba gave him. I wanted to give him all the drawings but he wanted to play me even on top the fact that i wanted to help him so that's why I changed my mind. There's no fraud here, i only want payment for my work simple.

This is the right and wise thing to do at a time like this. Unfortunately, this puts more pressure on the supplies pushing prices further up. And eventually, your stock will still finish and you'll still go back to the market. Even the manufacturers are affected too cos they have to buy raw material.

I'm seeing shops in my area not able to stock up to their usual level because they can't buy the same quantity to sell as before.

it's an endless vicious cycle we are in. So buy up as much as you can

He told me to pay 25k for architectural design, structural and mechanical. I told him I could only run around for 20k and he agreed. He later said I should send part of the payment the next day which I agreed but that yesterday I was called the youth cane to my land and stopped people that were digging Fence foundation and I paid 45k. They said youth and Cdc. I didn’t have the money but had to take from my business capital. I explained what happened to him and he didn’t care. This money he called that what is going to happen and I told him I’ve been saying it from day 1 that I didn’t have this money somewhere so he had to be patient. I even said let’s see how today goes because he insist I pay in part of the 20k in advance so later today. I sent him a message that he should pause until I raise the money. He’s yet to deliver the job or anything from him. The guy started raining curses on himself and told me that he’s an edo man and nobody messes with them. Immediately I saw the threatening I had to send the 20k from my business. Hoping that he’d deliver the job. Now his asking me for more 30k to get the same job done. I told him I’d share everything here because I met him here.

Sometimes when I go through posts here it’s almost like we live in parallel universes. I paid 1.4 million Naira for all of my drawings and that was with a lot of arguments sef. How are you guys doing drawings for 30k, 40k?
