Thank you
I have provided the documents since December in the provided link.
I wrote them and they responded with my visa application is in process, but no medicals or update

You should consider sending webforms and emails to them twice a week in order to expedite the finalization of your application.

I did for Ecobank and you can't just process it except you walk into the banking hall. Tell them you want to generate your statement for Canadian embassy. They will ask for period and authorize the statement certificate containing your ticket number and password. This is what you need to upload when you are submitting your application. I wish you all the best.

Pls which of their branches did you apply. It seems is not all their customer service that knows about it. Please if you can tell me the branch maybe I could try my luck.
Incase you want to reach me here is my number 09096961819
Thank you waiting for your response.

Frankrobbn1:

I always advice applicant's to order for their GCMS notes 3 months after submission. By then, the visa officer must have reviewed the application and made some comments relating to the eligibility status of the application. I don't think you will find any relevant information from your gcms notes after 1 month of submission.

It will end in praise

Exactly, I think GCMS becomes a necessity after the usual processing time (8 to 12 weeks) has elapsed or when the resumption date is fast approaching.

No need to panic because you are not seeing updates on the status timeline. Not everybody have their timeline updated. We have seen people that got decisions without any changes on their eligiblity, medical and background status.

The best approach is to give them all the necessary documents as soon as possible. Including all necessary documents when applying, upfront medical, prompt biometric appointment once requested and giving prompt reply to any requested additional documents.

This is fallacy! She should drop the link from CIC news where such information about some schools in Canada going into bankruptcy and closing up some departments were published.

Aaahhh, my kids are 2years (twins) I can't leave one. It's either I apply for both of them or none of them. I was thinking of leaving them behind with hubby because of limited funds and also as hometies. Does this hurt? cry cry

Frankrobbn1:

How old is the baby? If the baby is just 5months - 2 year old, it's not reasonable in the immigration regulations and manuals of Canada to leave her behind with your elder sister. The visa officer will definitely question your intent as a mother to have took such a decision with your husband.

Kindly confirm her age and I will advise accordingly. However, if the above is her case, I will suggest you apply with your baby. Your husband is enough to be a strong tie in your application.

Hello Everyone,

My first permit application was refused, I am in the process of reapplying. But I was only presented with just form IMM 5645 FOR FAMILY, & IMM 5257B APPLICATION FOR TEMPORARY RESIDENCE.

No study permit form or application outside of Canada form.

Please is it normal, during reapplication ?

Hello Guys,

I am trying to book a flight from Lagos to Toronto airport.

From the research I have done so far, the price tickets seems to be cheaper on Wakanow website than the airline website.

My question now is, how reliable is Wakanow for booking flight ticket ?

Has anybody had any issue booking a flight with Wakanow ?

Is it better to just book from the airline website directly ?

From the airline websites, I got the prices below:

KLM Royal Dutch: Lagos to Toronto $797 wait 5hrs in Amsterdam
British Airways $675 wait for 11 hrs in London
Ethopian Airlines N317K wait 2hrs 45 mins in Addis Ababa and Dublin
Fly Emirates N494K wait 4hrs 10 mins in Dubai
Qatar Airways $824 Wait 3hrs 10mins in Doha Qatar
Lufthansa $847 Wait for 7hrs 35mins in Frankfurt Germany
Air Canada $1107CAD wait for 3hrs55mins in Frankfurt

From Wakanow, it is cheaper than the prices above except for Ethopian airline which is close.

So which is better and safer, booking through Wakanow or directly from the airline website.

Hi @Frankrobbin thank you for your time please I understand the part of travelling to Canada to get the required documents to apply for SOWP. But can one apply for accompanying dependants immediately after receiving the study visa approval?
I actually applied with out my 2boys 7&9years and spouse but now am regretting not including my kids and using my spouse alone as hometies, the thought of going without them is making me go through the motions . Was thinking I could start classes online while waiting for their visas, want to know the possibilities.
Or would another option be to amend my application as I just applied mid May. Please advice. Thanks

Frankrobbn1:

Lucky you to have obtained a Canadian study visa while leaving a 3-months old baby behind. Given that your visa has been approved, I will suggest that you travel to Canada and obtain the relevant documents (study permit and SIN) before you can file for a Spousal Open Work Permit for your husband to join you in Canada and a visitor's visa application for the baby as an accompanying dependent child.

Is it possible to have one’s visa stamped by U.S. and Canada for the same academic periods, like the one under consideration? I am curious about this. Requesting that the gurus in the house kindly help respond to this?

SweetJJ:
Congratulations.

I guess it depends on you and what you want. Compare your studies in US and Canada, the funding et all including your long term goal.

Good day Nairalanders, I'm actually new on this section.
Please I'd need someone to put me through the process of applying for admission into any Canadian universities for PhD. Im a graduate of French language and literary studies and also have a Masters degree in French studies.
Hi

To do a PHD (French Language) in Canada , you need to take your time & look for schools in Canada offering French Language at PHD level, check their faculty for their PROFESSORS/ASSISTANT PROFESSORS then look out for their respective RESEARCH AREAS in FRENCH Language, if you see the ones that aligns with your RESEARCH INTERESTS/PRIOR RESEARCH EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND, send a non-generic COLD MAIL to them

See the link below for
Schools offering PHD in FRENCH LANGUAGE at CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES, Google them one after the other and explore their FACULTIES to see their PROFESSORS and their respective RESEARCH AREAS in FRENCH LANGUAGE

https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/?k=French&program_level_merged=Doctorate&program_language=ENGLISH

Go through the contents in the link below, then relate it to your field of study (FRENCH) and research interests as it relates to your field of study/Academic Background/prior research experience. There are helpful information, documents & videos that can be of massive help to you e.g how to draft a Cold Mail, how to search for PROFESSORS Who has Research Areas aligning with you etc.

https://www.nairaland.com/6321900/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/561#101054570

As a Prospective Graduate Student (PHD), you need to have the following to kick start your GRADUATE SCHOOL JOURNEY in CANADA

- Academic CV (Well drafted Canadian Style Academic CV)
- Transcript (get the student Copy from your school)
- Cold Mail (To be drafted & sent to each professors based on their research areas)
- Statement of Purpose (SOP) for GRADUATE School (not SOP for Visa Application)
- Cover Letter (if required)
- Published Thesis (might be helpful) but not Compulsory etc.

There are GRADUATE SCHOLARS on this platform, If you have further questions along the line, do ask

Note: Your target should be for FALL 2022 (September 2022) or WINTER 2022 (JANUARY), so you can begin now in advance by getting your Transcript (Student Copy), Drafting your Academic CV, sending Cold Mails to Professors in your field of study & research areas related to your field of study.

Also work towards getting a FULLY-FUNDED PHD IN FRENCH LANGUAGE offer cos PHD is expensive in Canada. Interestingly, most PHD students in Canada & US are usually funded, so package your Application Well to get funding

Someone found this information in their gcms note.

But this isn't fair na. How will the applicant know his intended DLI would be filing for such?
This isn't the fault of the applicant na. If schools are doing this, they ought to send their prospective students emails notifying them of the need to find another DLI asap.
What form of protection does a student who has committed money and invested time into the school have, only to be denied their visas because of the school's decision or move.
Na wa!

Guy if you like yourself, upload the CAQ immediately and ensure it is acknowledged. They are checking your eligibility this fast because you didn’t submit all the right documents. Screenshots of application for CAQ is not CAQ approval and will never be considered as one. It is clearly stated on the CAQ and CIC website that you need the approval letter to apply for the visa.

Upload your letter immediately!!!!!
please how do you upload your caq

I applied on the 14th, no NSE request either. Although I did my biometrics really late, 24th, maybe that is why.

There was a mixed up in the questionnaire you filled

The form to fill are:

1.Application for Study Permit Made Outside Canada IMM1294E
2. Family Information Form IMM5645
3. Temporary Residence Visa - TRV Form

Hope this profound solution.
