Haba don't you think it's to fast with back and forth with client request before arriving at a conclusion for the design. I have no idea how this 48 hours thing is possible. I think I might have to challenge your competent in my next project, be prepared my designs are crazy. What is your average cost? Can you please show us some of the samples of the designs you did in the past.

my oga there is no single issue of fraud here just that i am not too good in explanations stuffs, i am more of an action person. someone paid me for an architectural drawing, i stayed up all night editing the one i had on ground that was the reason i even agreed at hat low price but now he changed the brief that he needed to use only half of the plot. i stayed up all day designing, after completion i sent him the drawings. he didn't complain, only for me to come on nairaland and start seeing nonsense. i ve done too much jobs to allow myseld to be insulted by one poorer trying to become a landlord, if u cant afford a design then ask baba lati to peg on site for u like that. the guy was a very big fool, i was even ready to give him an electrical design in addition to the structural and mech but instead he choose to fool himself. im not supprissed those especially when i looked up his profile and saw that he was even a beggar back in 2013 when he registered on nairaland, i was already doing my coren exam then. he's a very big fool along with those that reached judgement without proper investigation

So I was in a meeting of civil engineers today, that was jointly attended by members from Africa foundaries, (one of Nigeria's leading reinforcement producing company) despite telling us that most of their raw materials were sourced locally, when questioned about why reinforcement bars price are skyrocketing exponentially, they couldn't give a befiting answer.

The issue of steel bars diameters not upto standard dimensions was also raised, and their response wasn't satisfactory to me aswell. (They were like buy only steels from Africa foundaries)

If I supplied paint then bucket is mine.

if the clients bought the paints and materials for the job,he owns the bucket and stuff. It's no brainer


But if the painter charged for the job and was made to procure the materials used plus paints, he owns the bucket because he might have factored in the cost of reselling the buckets in his charges. So taking the buckets means taking some of his agreed amounts

This is one of the reasons I advise both contractors and client to iron things out, make sure they are on the same page and agree on terms before the job starts.

Interestingly, lots of people are for the clients tho. (But again most people on the group live outside Nigeria - not sure if it affected how they looked at the issue).

SOME MIX THE TWO IN JOBS BY PLACING THE THICK ONES AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THE PRESSURE IS MUCH AND THE ORDINARY ONES AT THE TOP TO SURFACE.. THE PRICES OF THE THICK ONE I HEARD IS ALMOST 20K FOR THE 5M LENGHT.... AND 10K FOR ORDINARY ONE...

2.... COST OF DRILLING ITSELF... IT RANGES BETWEEN 120K-250K DEPENDING ON THE DEPTH YOU GOING... MY RULE OF THUMP IS 3K PER METER...IT MAY BE MORE OR LESS..

THE REST ITEMS LIKE THE PUMPING MACHINE, WATER PVC 1 INCH PIPE AND OTHER ACCESSORIES... THOSE CAN BE BOUGHT AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION..
