It is better to get the saqa evaluation done so that you can have more chances. Waivers by schools are done on exceptional cases

Please we should look outside SA. If you don't have anyone strong inside to pull strings for you, there's no need to go to SA for hustle. Look to other countries where you can become someone without regards to where you're from. I know top Nigerian govt people working in SA but their wards are not even schooling in SA. I'm not discouraging you but do have a valid purpose and plan well mapped out

Do you mean Nigerian diplomats working in South Africa?

After the my second rejection I decided to get my visa in Ghana and it took just 11 days....You can see favor for the third application...

Have you been rejected for adverse record before also ?

That means you later visited sa via Ghana ,I guess you did a Ghana work permit before you applied

Don’t you think the system in Nigeria that will make them see your past record is the same thing with Ghana ?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Blurpy: 2:02pm On May 28, 2021
Ok sir.
Don't relent in your application then, keep applying

Yes

Diplomats have a valid reason because even if their children stay for 10 years, they would still not be eligible for citizenship.
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Blurpy: 8:19pm On May 28, 2021
Nobody chases citizenship in SA anymore. A valid resident permit is enough to cover everything. What I mean is that there are more opportunities in the west than SA and furthermore their xenophobic attitude towards Nigerians is a factor

You should read the handwriting on the wall, SA doesn't want Nigerians to be migrating there any longer, they make everything difficult now for Nigeria, from visas to work permits, residence permit etc. Nigerians there have messed up the reputation of the country (drugs, fraud etc. The place is beautiful no doubt but there is no job if you're not a critical skill worker e.g healthcare,IT . I know it would be like I'm discouraging you guys but it's the truth. I was invited by a nig. diplomat at nig embassy Pretoria and the visa ought not to take up to a week as other countries but it took not less than two months even with email follow-up from the nig. embassy.

coming from someone that actually wanted to relocate to south africa.. Why would you relocate to a country on visit visa and expect to get a great job in the first place?
If you applied for visa on the right category, you have nothing to worry about.
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Blurpy: 6:28pm On May 30, 2021
Lol. I never went to SA for job. My visit there was by chance as I was on an assignment from a nig diplomat there. I am back in Nigeria. If he is qualified for critical skill list,i.e healthcare,IT ,and apply for critical skills visa then it's worth it. No hard feelings

South Africa seems to be one of those countries that uses perception in deciding whether to grant an applicant a visa or not . While travel history is not a requirement those visa officers may be of the perception that you want to visit and remain in their country beyond the approved period. You can improve your chance of positive outcome by showing that you have a job/stable income, travel history and a plan of what you intend to do in South Africa. This plan should be stated in an introduction letter.
Ordinarily you don’t need to go to this length but since you are encountering difficulties in getting your application approved you could try that.

Not only Nigerians Sir. The high unemployment rate for south africans is making the country discourage foreigners from coming now. In fact over 150,000 Zimbabweans working in South Africa don't know their fate right now cos their ZEP and ZSP permits will expire this December and from filtering reports, the SA Gov't isn't willing to renew them.

Also, covid has almost paralyzed the already super-slow DHA visa processes. A process that normally takes 2weeks now takes over 3months with funny rejection reasons (most of which are overturned by appeal processes cos they are not valid).

And of course the Naija concern is there. I am ashamed of how a lot of my brothers thrive here. Many are into scams, drugs and illegal stuffs so yes the disposition of an average south african to an average nigerian isn't friendly.

However, tech companies in SA still need more experienced IT hands. I can say this for a fact cos I have gotten more calls for DevOps, Cloud openings in the past 4months than I have gotten throughout my 7year IT career in Nig. The locals may call it unfair but most of them do not have the educational background or skills to fill these openings. 40% of my SA colleagues where I currently work are whites while most of the remaining dudes are foreigners. So I still believe that the Student or Critical skills options are still the best for gaining entry to the republic for now. Although the Gov't is currently reviewing in the Gazette (this is the first review since 2014) but I do not think that IT related skills will be taken off cos the skill gap is very wide and in fact widening.

Stellenbosch University and Capetown University admit students without Saqa evaluation. However, few universities also give conditional admission letter Pending when you submit your Saqa certificate.

Many thanks
