If this report is a backlog of COVID data from months ago.

Then, it shouldn't be reported as new cases.
Mushroom Journalism wins it again.

This Government definitely knows how to ride on its people because their minds are really lazy.

Actually can be reported as new cases

Remember this is basic statistics

Please stay safe out there! This isn’t over yet especially with travel around the world and new variants spreading
I suspect the sudden rise in the death rate could be by those who arrived Nigeria and refused to be quarantined.

Oh my..what happenned in Benue??
I dont want any sign of 3rd wave..

Backlog of data.

Means not all the cases happened today. Reports from 2 states (Benue and Nassarawa) accumulated over the last 3-4 months were released today.

Still, stay safe.

Be safe.

By adding backlogs one cannot get the clear figures of actual cases for 31/05.

If it was a comprehensive report for the first 5 months then the cases from Benue could be added but it was wrong of NCDC to add such figures to a daily report.

NB: I do understand your point of empathy...

Reference:

Because they are human beings.... just like you and me. Where is your humanity please. When did we cease to be people... to have any empathy for those who are sick unto death around us.

We feel nothing, no pain, no loss unless it affects us personally. A society that has no love or heart, has no care or concern is dead while it pretends to live. That is why all sorts of evil prevail unattended.

Please these are not just numbers. They are people, real people whom the nations has failed, whom the healthcare system has betrayed.

Show empathy please like citizens of other nations for a better tomorrow. Nowhere else I have seen where the victims, the citizens take it upon themselves to scorn, mock, deny and deride their losses.

Little wonder our country is like this, where lives donot matter. Where death to us is just figures and numbers.

Pity.

You must be a statistician cheesy because your point is 100% correct, statistically cool
NCDC should have reported 31/05 as is and adjusted the previous data accordingly!
