This is very true. A lot of unanswered questions. 1. When would they start giving out appointment dates to category B. 2. Reason why they don't reply to emails? 3. Why do they cut the call when you call the visa section? 4. Why do they have their staff supposedly snooping around on Nairaland? 5. Should students continue to apply knowing previous intakes are pending? 6. Has Nigerians been blacklisted from studying in Germany? 7. Why are they not responding to prospective students with letters of presence from the school especially Nigerians? 8. Are they only accepting Category A candidates because the speed they get interview dates is just amazing. 9. Is the Nigerian ambassador to Germany dead? 10. Is the covid situation in Nigeria that scary? A statement fit close this thread sharp sharp lol, make boys see road. Eater0011: |

OdogwuEkeke: But you have constantly defended the consulate everytime people raise issue about their unfair treatment to Nigerians.. You can go at any length to defend them.. you go online and get different links to share here to defend them .. You were the main person who stood against the protest in April.. Guy get out of here .. you are not a student ..stop deceiving people .. The way you defended this embassy in April after they cancelled appointments was obvious you are not among us... Alot of people have called u out already. Let student protest if they wish to .. and stop getting intheir way 3 Likes |

OdogwuEkeke:.. I personally wrote content about this protest on twitter in April.. and asked people to help retweet.. You continously discouraged people about it.. October is coming alot of people will be disappointed again . You will still come and defend them.. Honestly if you are truly a student and was denied interview date in April... you won't have made those statements you used to defend them .. Any student who was denied visa won't defend the consulate immediately.. But you started defending from April 1st.. Which is obvious you never applied and you were posting fake AD claiming you know a friend who knows a friend who got appointment in category b .. Keep deceiving people that listen to you 1 Like |

Tbvh I expect more from a student thread. Read the thread. This is a way to get informed. Base your convictions on facts and not emotions. You are frustrated yeah, you aren't the only one frustrated. As adults, you are responsible and accountable for your decisions. You can choose to stop thinking about AD and drop out. You can also decide to go to another country outside Germany. You can also decide to protest or not. The fact is some Category B get AD and I am not even the only one saying this just read and gain knowledge. The question you should be asking yourself is if they call you next week, are you ready. They no dey do activism for japa level ooh |

OdogwuEkeke:This comment i quoted is your write up on April 11th .. just after people were denied AD. Which you too claimed you applied too as a student.. Your write up didn't show any form of disappointment in what the embassy did.. you immediately started defending them. Shifting the blame on the students not being ready. For the ones coming here new .. just know that this guy is not a student... becareful with whatever advice he is giving you and whatever information he is collecting from you . Becareful... Why would someone who waited from September to April and finally got disappointed after AD was cancelled, be writing this on April 11th. When others were disappointed and complaining.. this is the type of write up you posted on April 11th... The only reason the embassy posted you here is to assist students with their questions to avoid sending unnecessary questions to them... But you took it upon yourself to make sure students don't protest. Thinking its part of your job.... Anybody who has been here from lastyear who doesn't know you work for the embassy and not a student is not even smart enough to travel .... Disrupting student protest isnot part of your job... You were the only person who kept posting fake AD testimony for cat B... going online getting links and data to defend them... If you too really applied and was denied interview in April... you won't have written this write up... Do your job and stop getting inthe way of students that want to protest. |

Could it be you have got some skeletons in your cupboard we don't know about? Why is this issue coming up again? On whose side are you, the students or the German authority (embassy)? |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Fatalveli(m): 8:12am On Jun 02, 2021 |
Nzealibaba:The fact that we have to protest to get a date is not worth it. In 2020, after the lockdown was lifted, several people took to Twitter to protest, tagging the German missions and several others of their ministers and ambassadors but in the end it was a dead end. Not one of them responded or acknowledged the problem. In fact the ambassador to Germany made a post on Twitter in this regard, he said tabled the matter already in Germany, yet nothing has been done about it till now. How about the students who went to the Germany consulate to protest with cardboards. Soldiers rounded them up and made us sit on the ground for daring to display cardboards to protest in their backyard. The fact is German consulate is fully working. Most of us here lack foresight. I have also carefully documented some things and I believe the consulate just want to give AD to students and not those masquerading as students to emigrate. I graduated in 2019. Two people I know who graduated before me went to Germany in 2019 immediately after their service, which was the same thing I planned to do. I finished my service in October 2020. I already had admission in Bremen, Frankfurt and Potsdam, paid semester fee for Potsdam and waited on AD which never came. But sadly things didn’t turn out as planned. Now imagine this, two of my friends who graduated in 2018, went for masters in 2019, I graduated in 2019 and can’t get an appointment at the consulate in 2020. This is all in the space of a year. Then I started noticing random attacks on some prominent German threads on this forum. People create threads and say really good things about Germany. Then when people who wants to japa comes across such topic, they start asking questions on the best way to japa. The thread owners start advising them to use study route. Now imagine the German embassy that usually get let’s say 200-300 applications in a year is now getting more than 2000+ in a single year. They must’ve really thought Nigerians really love education. But then we forget that only those who really wants to study will focus in school. Someone who only wants to japa will never focus and end up with mediocre grades or totally drop out and then enter the streets. During the early months and mid 2020, there was a huge clampdown on all threads advising people who wants to japa to enter Germany. The owners of the threads were attacked verbally till everything turned chaos. In fact I am 100% certain than if not for Odogwuekeke and few others who regularly comment on this very thread, I believe it’d have gone down drastically because most people are now shifting their attention to smaller European countries now. It’s the new reality, a sad one at that. Also, after carefully analysing several comments of those who eventually got AD and posted on here, I find out they are relatively new monikers with few contributions to this thread. Therefore there is a 90% chance that those are fake testimonies. The remaining 10% is reserved for people who knows people. Odogwu always says people get AD in cat B but aren’t on nairaland. I believed him because some people are going in through the back door. Like knowing big people like politicians or going from another countries. Although I belong to category B, I believe that someone who had a first class in a Nigerian university, or someone who won a scholarship will most likely face their studies than someone who has 2:1 or 2:2 because they have more at stake than us. So instead of totally banning Nigerian students from entering, policies were implemented to reduce us drastically. Especially since most Nigerians wants to leave the country, and millions of people have bachelors degree. So it’s convenient for us to just dust our degrees, find 5m to block or SL and move to Germany under the guise of education. I also believe that if some monikers don’t comment on here regularly, this thread will no longer be active on the front page of the travel section, hence the reason some monikers see the need to comment regularly in order to keep the thread active for category A. As you all can see, people are not really applying for education in Germany anymore compared to 2018-2020. And if things remains like this, they number of application will drastically reduce and then when that happens, they will/might start attending to Category B again. Getting into Germany via student route is relatively easy for most Nigerian graduates. If we are going to change the current situation, we must kick against those advising economic hustlers to leave the student route for only students. The we must study well in Germany like we do in US, UK and Canada. I am not saying the consulate is without blame for the way they handled this whole issue. A lot of us lost a huge amount of money for online classes, and there’s also time management, and in the end we still can’t travel after the hurdles. But then the consulate’s reaction is as a result of our own actions. Germany is one of the best country in Europe for sure, but it’s not a do or die affair for those seeking to go to school. If you have other options please explore it, there no use getting emotional over what we have no control of. Even if we protest from now till next year, the counter method has been the same, a few people come out and say they are Cat B and have started getting AD and viola the protest will just die a natural death because we will believe we have succeeded in getting what we want. If we can study in Nigeria then we can study anywhere in Europe and still be a success. I particularly, I’m still hoping for my German AD to land. But I already have admission in one polish university, and still applying to others. I’ll advise every cat B student here to do something instead of doing nothing. You can apply to university of opole in Poland. The tuition is not up to 500k a year and is affordable, there’s also a handful of other schools in other countries. You block the same amount you plan to block for Germany, about 5-6m and keep extra 1m for tuition. When life throws a lemon, make a lemonade. My 2cents.

No need for long paragraph ..or replying with different accounts..... I already calmed down about the protest.. just that someone else raised the protest issue again and @odugwuekeke came and continued defending them as usual.... By October you will all see the first person that come to defend the embassy.. The person will do it October 1st and will still claim him too was denied appointment.. But he believes the embassy is right for denying him appointment... |
