I planted something in these bags and what is sprouting looks like weed. Pls I want someone who is in d know to identify the plant growing in these bags before I can say what I really planted there.

I am not so sure that what I planted is what is sprouting...because on this forum was were I read some persons saying such a plant can’t be planted in a nursery...it’s best planted directly from the ground. So I really want to prove them wrong. So can a real farmer identify what is sprouting in my nursery pls?

The guy might be correct, this looks like beans to be honest. Even though you didn't plant it you might have thrown a seed mistakingly or someone did. That soil there is very good for planting bro.

Lol... sorry, once it's not black eyed peas, strawberries or tomatoes, I'm lost. I'm only able to slightly recognize these ones cause I and my neighbour plant them in our "pet garden" (actually, it's just a storied set of plastic planters).

Okay guys since no one could get on about that plant.

What was actually planted in those bags were pawpaw seeds.


But right now I am not understanding what that plant looks like. They no where look like pawpaw sprouts.


I did the planting of pawpaw seeds two weeks ago after munching on a very sweet smooth smallish pawpaw I bought from a seller. And I decided to plant the seeds in a bags. I did that because I wanted to monitor the sprouts if eventually they germinate and also prove some nairalanders wrong that pawpaws can also best be in nurtured from nurserys

Now what I am seeing sprouting looks like beans,black eyed peas,weed,groundnut etc

On further research to see what pawpaw sprouts looks like I saw a near replica of my current plant on google.

Nah this what water melon leaves looks like...this one just started growing without a planter...I guess the seed was hiding in the chicken manure I bought for my garden...as u can see it’s already crawling

Wow pls I need more explanation on this variety Sir. I still have the dried seeds with me stored.

The pawpaw was so delicious that I vowed to see how I can propagate the fruit in my compound. That’s d result of it in d nursery...at first I thought it was weeds because from research I learned pawpaw seeds takes time to germinate reason why I was a bit skeptical when I saw those sprouts.


Pls more insight on this specie...duration of growth? Time of fruiting? etc

This is not papaya, it's pawpaw only grown in the western world. I am a papaya farmer and I can assure you that what is germinating in your nursery are papaya seeds.
