I didn't go through NSE and haven't done upfront medical

I’ll advise you order for your gcms note, if it looks good, book your upfront medicals, and be expecting PPR, otherwise respond to the VO’s concern(s) before booking medicals as February applicants are now getting decision while you’re waiting on a medical request from them.

It will end in praise.

Hello! I applied for a Canada study visa in the month of may, shortly I received a message from the embassy saying i qualify for a Nigeria student express. Did the ielts though but I wasn’t able to meet up with the score required by the embassy as I had 5.5 in writing. My question is can I submit the ielts test like that? and if eventually I don’t submit it, what are my chances of getting the visa?

Go ahead and upload...

Submitting NSE requirements does not guarantee and not submitting does not guarantee an approval

What is The rate of Nairobi student visa for Nigerians and that of Lagos..
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by emmalextemtop: 11:44am On Jun 04, 2021
SuomyNona:

1.) Yes, his sponsorships letter can be on a plain A4 with his signature, address and personal contact (phone and email). Attach any available documents you can get to show that he his a civil servant. i.e work I.D card, last promotion letter, employment letter, salary voucher etc.

2.) Your cost of attendance is tuition plus at least CAD 10000 for living expenses. CIC also expect you to factor in the cost of transportation to Canada and from Canada after completion of study so you can estimate other costs of at least CAD 2000.

So in summary your total cost of attendance for a years will be about CAD 12000 + Your annual tuition.

The amount in his account to proof means of financial support will depend on how many dependents your dad have. Are you the only dependent? Are you the last born or only child? If you have other siblings, are they financially sufficient and don't require financial help from your dad?

If he doesn't have much dependent I (personal view not a requirement) think about ×1.5 or twice your annual cost of attendance in his account should be sufficient.

3.) You should include the birth certificate or international passport or other recognized forms of identity of family members that you will fill in your family information form during application.

4.) Provide any available documents you can get to prove employment status i.e employment letter, I.D card, promotion letter, pay slip, introduction letter from employer, leave of absence letter.

5.) You can register a GCkeys account and create a study permit application profile when you feel like. However, the platform will give you 60days duration to work on your application. If you didn't complete and submit your application before this period elapse, it will delete the created profile.

Ohh thanks!

1) is it compulsory i must show he is a civil servant (just to prove there is/will be sufficient funds while studying). How about stating he has a big cocoa farm?
And then my mum has a shop, sponsored by my dad, can we register the trading shop to show funds comes to the family from there also?
2)how much in naira? If have paid first semester tution, with 3m naira(10k CAD) in my own account and 10m naira in sponsors account, is that not okay?
3)maybe for financial prove and not much dependence on my dad, is the birth certificates of myself, my dad and my younger sibling okay? So, it will just show like, we are 2 children. Or just mine and my dad is okay?

4) Apart from sponsor's landed property documents for financial buoyancy/ties back home, do i need to upload his assets like car or house documents?
Thanks!

Hi Winta. The way I got my own personal copy of my transcript was through my school’s portal (I just downloaded it)
Now, after you’ve been given admission, the international university would required a copy of your transcript to be sent to them directly from your uni. This can be done either through email or courier (by your school) depending on whatever method the international university requires.

u can use wes and then wes could sent to u and the university of ur choice and then anytime u need it in future,u dont have to go through ur university again.most international university accept sealed copy from wes.even when u need it for Career progression abroad, u still need wes

You mean when you gained admission or when you are applying? Because when applying you are not sure if the admission will be granted or not. So, I don't know how sending to the school direct will work. When the admission is not yet granted. Because I don't want double payment to collect the transcript. Is only the student copy I need now for application and when I gain an admision. I can now address the transcript direct to the school. Unfortunately, my school don't give students access to student portal.
if you have the cash,send it to Wes once and 4 all

I want to know if he will be able to file for my family to move to Canada after graduation. I am also looking at sending my younger brother also. But I can only afford to sponsor one person at this time. Between the both of them, who will be able to help us move in future to Canada? Thank you

Praise God!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I have been a silent reader all along and this post is on behalf of my wife.

She applied for Canadian study visa on 18/02/2021 and since then the waiting game started. This morning, she opened her mail and coincidentally, 2 emails dropped from IRCC within the space of about 3 minutes. Could it be the good news we all have been waiting for? The emails stated that there were messages to be checked in the profile.

We summoned the courage to check her profile and lo and behold, it was an approval! Both PPR and BvL came at about the same time. We thank God Almighty for the success.

A lot happened in-between the time of the application and PPR. She had sent several webforms seeking to know status of the application. IRCC always responded with the generic emails, starting with "under active review" and then later to "in process". Yet we kept faith alive. She also had to migrate her international passport into a new one, just because her old passport would expire early next year, whereas she will be going for a 2-year program. When she obtained the new passport (this process took about 6 weeks), she notified IRCC by webform. She had to also defer her admission from Summer to Fall of 2021 and she notified IRCC by webform.

Her timeline is as follows:

- Upfront Medical: 7/12/2020 at QLife
- Applied: 18/02/2021
- Biometrics Request: 19/02/2021
- Biometrics done: 24/02/2021
- Medical Updated to Passed: 26/02/2021
-PPR and BvL: 3/06/2021

Her supporting documents are as follows:

Academic qualifications:

1) Offer and Letter of Admission for MSc Program at TRU, Canada.
2) Transcripts for 1st degree in Nigeria
3) Transcripts for 2nd degree in Nigeria
4) IELTS Result
5) WAEC Result
6) 6-page SOP
7) Certificate of Being on Dean's Honour's Rolls at undergraduate level

Employment:

1) Offer of Employment Letter. She works in a bank.
2) Reference Letter from Employer
3) Employment ID Card
4) Payslips for 6 months
5) Resume

Financial qualifications:

1) MyBank Statement from her for 1 year
2) MyBank Statement from husband for 1 year
3) Affidavit of Sponsorship from husband
4) Notarised Letter of Sponsorship from husband
5) Statement of Account of her Retirement Savings Account (RSA)
6) Funding Letter from her supervisors, to the tune of CA$20,000.00
7) Evidence of payment for a semester (CA$6,000)

Home Ties:

1) Birth Certificates of husband and the children;
2) Marriage Certificate
3) Business Name Registration Certificate of Husband's firm
4) Husband’s Offer of Employment Letter
5) Birth Certificates of my parents;
6) Offer of Employment Letter from Employer;
7) Statement of Account of Contributory Pension;
cool Statement of Account of Life Insurance Policy;
9) Land Purchase Agreement in respect of a plot of land;
10) Land Purchase Agreement in respect of plots of land;
11) Land Purchase Agreement in respect of plots of land;
12) Vehicle particulars of a car.
13) Membership Certificate of CIPM
14) Membership Certificate of Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria.

Other Documents:

1) Completed and signed IMM1294E and IMM5645E forms.
2) Police Character Certificate
3) Data page of International Passport
4) Passport photograph
5) Birth Certificate
6) NYSC Certificate

She is 39 years old and has 3 kids between 6-10. She was very anxious because of her age and also because she is seeking for a 2nd masters program. We weren't sure what IRCC would say to these.

The kids did not apply with her. They will apply for study permits as soon as her PP is stamped. I hope I am not leaving out any important info.

Nairaland has been a blessing to me and my family. Many thanks for the selfless service rendered by all the gurus on this thread. These efforts will return to you in blessings. I wish all study visa hopefuls, success. We shall all be congratulated at the end. The journey was tortuous, but she could not have given up. Please don't give up!

I do hope that this post has given fresh hope to someone on the journey. That is the essence.

With God all things are possible!!!

this is grace.i tap into it too.congrats bro and thank u for ur time in giving us detailed feed back on ur timeline. God bless

I submitted my application on the 1st of may and did my biometrics on the 10th of may. Three days later (13th), I got a message that I qualify for the NSE program, so I have to submit an ielts exam and my proof of funds. Went on doing the ielts exam but I didn’t pattern it up as I got band 5.5 in writing while I did the other very well. So my question is should I submit my ielts result with the POF along with a back up letter of some sort of reasons hoping I’ll get it? Cos the due date is 13th of this month!

Sigh... Don't complicate your application, be forthright as much as possible.

There should be evidence to backup every claim you make in your application. If you claim your sponsor is a civil servant you have to show it. If you claim he has a Cocoa farm or he is an entrepreneur you have to show it too i.e farmers association membership, government registration of business or any other proof.

I don't know your annual tuition fees, that was why I suggested my personal view concerning proof of means of financial means. It is up to you to do the math, use your discretion and calculate the amount in naira. You can use yourself and your dad as co-sponsors, the essential thing is to proof beyond reasonable doubt that you both have the financial might to support your study .

This Canada (study) visa thing na by grace of God. Got my bro's gcms documents today and we had to start a new thanksgiving on his approval.......Many of these agents are nonsense people, if at all you need to use one, pls be very careful.

So this nonsense agent filled form that my bro has been working in company A since September 2018, he did employment letter on company A's letterhead and letter was dated July 2019.

On form, he filled that expenses will be borne by my father and the applicant, where SOP stated only my dad.

Attached staff ID card of another company B(my dad's company). WTF??!!!

Payslip carries name of company B.

Deducted tax of 5% gross pay sef, value wrong!

He did sworn affidavit and dat states he is goin to Humber College, wrong school. Thank God these documents even came in after he has gotten his visa, high blood pressure for don kill pesin.

My opinion is that SOPs play a strong role in our applications. Infact, like 90%. Let's take time to work on our SOPs. Address every issue! Link ur degrees to Nigeria and Africa(look at one or two problems in Nigeria you wanna solve with ur degree), address home ties, finances and all strongly. Cuz I feel that applications are treated in the reverse manner, instead of picking up ur application and planning to give an approval, dey pick up your application and look for reasons to refuse u, so any little Bleep up laidis, dem nakk u breakfast be dat o. #PrayForGrace

March applicants, let's start warming up for our PPRs
