1. I do not support the deleting of Buhari's remarks The remarks may have been insensitive and offensive but I do not think they crossed the line 2. Nnamdi Kanu has used the platform to support killings in Nigeria without consequence 3. Twitter does not appear to be neutral in this quarrel 4. There is a wider issue here and that is the power , money and influence that Twitter has. It only has such power to the extent that sovereign nations allow 5. I believe the Chinese government will not tolerate half of what Nigeria has tolerated 6. Yes we want freedom of speech and all that but it should not be outsourced. This is a wake up call. Nnamdi Kanu is a nobody unlike Buhari who is a president of a nation except you mean to tell me you place NK on same page as Buhari. Twitter literally knows not if NK exist and his words cannot be ear-marked as that of a president of a state. NK is no different from Adeyinka Grandson. I guess this is why i hate politics. Politics have its way of making people stupid. You'll even defend the stupidity with your all making you more stupid. We do not accept gay marriage because Oyibo say so. The Nigerian government is in power whether we like the actors or not. This particular power is one I want the Nigerian government to have with respect to media like Twitter whether in 2021 ,2023 or 2121 This is not just a freedom of speech issue . It is a trade issue. Companies like Google , Twitter etc have a de facto monopoly and cannot be allowed to amass unlimited power especially if they are not Nigerian 4 Likes |
