1. I do not support the deleting of Buhari's remarks

The remarks may have been insensitive and offensive but I do not think they crossed the line

2. Nnamdi Kanu has used the platform to support killings in Nigeria without consequence

3. Twitter does not appear to be neutral in this quarrel

4. There is a wider issue here and that is the power , money and influence that Twitter has. It only has such power to the extent that sovereign nations allow

5. I believe the Chinese government will not tolerate half of what Nigeria has tolerated
6. Yes we want freedom of speech and all that but it should not be outsourced. This is a wake up call. Let us have a homegrown African Twitter that is subject to African regulation

I am consistent in what I do . The advocacy of rationality and thinking above emotion in forming opinions and decision making
Nigeria is NOT the only or First country to restrict Twitter

Which other countries have done this?...........

Nnamdi Kanu is a nobody unlike Buhari who is a president of a nation except you mean to tell me you place NK on same page as Buhari. Twitter literally knows not if NK exist and his words cannot be ear-marked as that of a president of a state. NK is no different from Adeyinka Grandson. I guess this is why i hate politics. Politics have its way of making people stupid. You'll even defend the stupidity with your all making you more stupid.

I guess Trump should have ordered the U.S army to shut down Twitter and Facebook HQ for the indefinite ban meted out to him on both platform.

What exactly did Buhari say

I will invite Seun to say whether Buhari's remarks broke Nairaland's rules?

I do not support what he said but in my opinion the words were carefully enough chosen and did not justify deletion

I know that Turkey, Egypt and China would never tolerate that

We do not accept gay marriage because Oyibo say so.

The Nigerian government is in power whether we like the actors or not.

This particular power is one I want the Nigerian government to have with respect to media like Twitter whether in 2021 ,2023 or 2121

This is not just a freedom of speech issue . It is a trade issue.

Companies like Google , Twitter etc have a de facto monopoly and cannot be allowed to amass unlimited power especially if they are not Nigerian

Idiot, do you think it took 5 years to ''develop China''?

Do you even know how many people were killed and jailed, with no democracy allowed till today, no elections, no free speech etc, and ruled by brutal dictatorship, which enabled China to ban all imported goods for 30 years to force development. Can you tolerate that in Nigeria so that you can be like China in 30 years time?

If not then shut up, because that is what China did!

Let's just hope you're educated.
Nigerians have the freedom of speech and the freedom to use social media's. Buhary dragging the entire citizens into his silly beef with Twitter is ridiculous. Twitter never broke any Nigerian rule. It was the dumb old man that instead broke the rule of Twitter just bcus he's president. Twitter never stated in their terms that celebrities, presidents, governors would be immune to banning. If you do anyhow you go see anyhow. Bubu is going to court to answer why he banned twitter and depriving the citizens of their rights. It's not even a week yet and he's already getting roasted from all corners. He should be ashamed of himself right now, old man grin

To hell with Twitter's ''terms and conditions''.

Slaveboy to twitter.

They are supporting insurrection and anarchy in your country, and like a brainless dunce, you support them.

Tell me, when Nigeria descends into war, where will twitter president Jack whatever-his-name-is, be?

On his private yacht in the Caribbean perhaps?

Certainly not in refugee tents getting food aid from the Red Cross like you and your family members.
