Strict regulations really need to be made on the cost and maintenance of transportation in this country....most importantly on what and types of goods to be transported.

This is what a failure in government looks like. There is no functioning country where these types of accidents happen this regularly.
1.) In a functioning government Commercial vehicles this size generally have to pass inspection to be on the road. I'm sure this one didn't.
2.) That truck wasn't maintained. Not only should it have regular brakes, but it should have emergency brakes just so something like this wouldn't happen.
3.) The truck was going too fast. Looking at the way it crushed all those vehicles, even with functioning brakes it was going too fast.

This is negligent homicide. The driver should have been arrested and in jail. If a company owned the vehicle, they should be held criminally and financial responsible as well. But, seeing that this is Nigeria and none of that would happen, I understand why they burned that truck down.
Edit: In fact in the US that truck would have been impounded and everything held until the investigation was completed as to what happened. In fact I don't think there would have been any situation where that driver would have been able to just load the cows on to another truck and continue with his/her business.

And it's sad that a lot of people on here just see this as an accident. Nigeria has fully warped the value you place on life and your view of what responsibilities people should be held accountable for.

No need for compensation why? Please explain. The nonsense that comes out of people's mouths never fails to amaze me.

The liability is between the truck driver/owner and the people he killed/property he destroyed. If some random person decides to burn down that truck, the liability does not shift. The truck/driver owner can go after the person/persons who burned his truck, but that does not mitigate the fact the truck mowed over those people or change it's liability to them. In fact if the truck caught fire from the fuel from the damaged fuel tanks and everything was lost would they still not have to pay?

Please explain to me how Killing 8 Human beings like you and I is a small mistake, Those people have families, some may have children. How does a person describe the ruin of 8 families as a small mistake.
