Dear colleagues, believe it or not e hailing in Nigeria is slave labour not to be used as a permanent source of income. Considering the risks and stress.
Make sure whatever you get from it is fuelling your escape plan.
Even their bonuses are useless.
Whenever they realize you are hitting your target. They start sending you long pickups.
As if challenging you to cancel.
I usually pickup and tell the person how far I am and he will cancel.
But if you meet some wicked babes they will insist you come then cancel when u are half way there.
Just yesterday I got a pickup if 17 minutes. Outside the radius I set.
I just gave up and didn't answer.
But the recent issue is how do you guys protect your tyres and suspension now that we are entering rainy season?
Two days back I had to drop a rider in a flooded place and my back left tyre was punctured in two places.
This evening I passed through a flood and dropped a rider. As soon as we exited the flood I heard my front left tyre hissing.
I came out to meet it flat. I suspect it's even damaged.
The rider fee of 1.8k minus bolt commission and my fuel is nothing compared to the cost of getting another tyre.
So please do you guys have any tips for reducing maintenance cost during rainy season?
Especially tyres and shock absorbers.

U see this life, u get what u bargain...it is for u what u say it is.

My advise for you...
Don't go for any long pick up...if u don't know what to do already, then u aren't following this thread well. I don't know if they are manipulating trips so u don't get bonus, but I know at night u may get long distance pickups so u may think they want to deprive u, whatever is d case, get above the manipulation. U have a full week to do just 50 or 55 trips and a full Saturday/Sunday to do just 9 or 10 trips, don't wait till die minutes to complete it.

Don't enter an obviously bad road, d worst rider can do is give u one star.

Politely decline entering flooded/water logged streets, u know d level of water that is detrimental to ur car... you r driving a car not a canoe.

Don't overload your car with person's or load.

Buy first grade tokunbo tyres, (summer or all weather) that type wey Gazzuzz dey sell, they cost a little more, but they will last you. And always gauge them properly 35psi max.

Finally, pray well daily on urself and ur car...every spirit of puncture tyre die by fire. cheesy grin

If you think u will drive a car for 10hrs a day, 6days a week and not have repairs/maintainance to do, u r joking.

Boss so as experience as you're on ehailing you don't believe what the guy is saying? Who told you it's just a programme? Pure lies.

I've made several post on this especially with Bolt. Bolt bonus is a scam, the moment they notice you're 2/3 trips to hit the bonus they either stop giving you trips, giving you long pickup or giving you long distance trips so you don't get to complete the challenge. This has happened to me severally.

3 different occasions that one I was so mad 4:30pm I was in festac town for good 2hrs and not a single trip on bolt, I drove around from one street to another nothing, few minutes later I got a 2.5km PU, called rider I was coming arrived waited for more than 10min I didn't see rider the moment I called "rider cancelled", I smiled. Turned on my Indriver app. Got a trip immediately to island and left my Bolt app on to c how far. I asked My rider to request me with her phone while we where in serious traffic around 2nd gate under that bridge. To my greatest surprise her request went to another driver. I needed just 1 trip to hit the 7k bonus so I'd wanted to use that trip to complete it.

Immediately the campaigned ended I started getting trips as usual I just looked at them and i laughed. But these things don't happen with Uber, they're more modest, transparent and straightforward the only odd against uber is their adamant refusal to review destination of their riders else many drivers would have jumped ship a long time.

Festac by 4pm is purely a residential area me and you know say nothing go xup until night for festac.

Is just like heading to ikotun idimu by 4PM and you dey reason to get short request on week days hell no.

Brother I don't cook a story up in this forum and I'll send you evidence if you want. There's no single bonus I decided to chase on Bolt that I won't get.

It's just sometimes common sense. I was at ogudu around 6 yesterday and I was getting Ikorodu with 3 trips remains to complete campaign c'mon I wont embark on the journey I had to wait 3mins and click rider number isn't going through.

Drove to shomolu where i get unilag/surulere/ojuelegba and close from there.

I repeat it's a programming and positioning. Bolt doesn't know one driver say him wan complete campaign.

Very very true, people don’t know how to position when they are two or three trips to bonus. For example yesterday around 9 pm I realized I have 4 more trips to go and I was in Ajao Estate. No request again for more than 20 minutes and then a request to Ejibgo, No way I need short trips. I just set destination and decided to blow empty to Surulere or yaba.
Got trip to mushin from mushin to lere to Aguda to lere etc till 11:15 pm when I had to off app, request was coming like water on 1.9 surge till I got tired of driving in surge and off app.
So let nobody deceive newbies that trips are manipulated cos of bonus. Bolt no get time to dey monitor one driver cos of 13k.
Position is key in this hustle, there are some places in Lagos dt u can’t stay for more than 2mins without getting request...

For doubting Thomas see screen shorts

That's what am talking about. If you had go on that trip, that's the end.

Kudos

Yea...I said positioning is key before but u were one of the protagonists...good to see u r learning. Ajao at night is dry, if u get trip sef na Isolo, ejigbo, Ikotun, Jakande that rider is going. To get Ikeja or Island na luck. I don't go to Ajao anything from 6pm on weekdays, if I find myself in Ajao, most times I drive across to mafoluku or blow empty to Ilupeju/Anthony and resume my normal.

I don't know if Bolt is manipulating trips to deprive one of bonus but we can manipulate the manipulator grin

Yes, but later shoot a mail for me to go do another training so they can unblock me, but then I was enjoying Uber badly. Indriver came and I jumped on it, my documents got expired on Uber, including inspection and I didn't bother to upload them. I can understand the surge that comes on those platforms, but my daily target lately have been 15k person and Indriver make me achieve that with ease. I don't go beyond ogba/ikeja to Kusenla and back, just one straight road and I'm done for the day(I even have clients that I know where they will b at a particular point in time and will obviously pick me once, no matter d time interval), I don't have any business with Abule Egba, Festac or Badore with Indriver.

Orchid road, in and out is messed up. There was an accident between a bike man and a tipper (sand truck).

Orchid road is blocked in and out, except it is extremely important and you would cash out big, stay away.

Please I need experienced advice.

I have been searching jiji for a car. I saw this honda civic 2006 Nigerian used.

The owner is selling for 1.350k and so far I have priced to 900k.

What are mine to watchout for so as not to buy problem for myself.

The seller says car is buy and drive, nothing to repair.

All document intact.

How do I comfirm that this car don't have any problem.

I don't have a mechanic yet to follow me down for inspection.

Pictures of the car below.

Car location is Ogba, Lagos.

Bros festac on a Saturday without a single request for 2hrs? On Bolt? Nbanu!

Ok how about the one that happened at Ajah/Sangotedo area if i can remember vividly I was just a trip to hit the weekend bonus and Bolt started giving me 83min PU, 120min PU and so on... These request kept coming in like i was the only driver in the whole of island... This has happened severely.

This is more reason I don't border chasing their bonis again.

Contact blackbishop or Dmechy asap and if they satisfy it's ok then proceed to pay and make sure the duties are intact.

Otherwise, search other states you'll get better and cheaper ones.

The only thing I’m against and will never agree with is the phrase “Ehailing is better than career salary earners”. I picked a young guy in suit cool boy, we got gisting and he said he wants to join the hustle that a driver told him to resign is 200k job cos d driver earns 150 k every week. I screamed liiiieeeeee. He said no 150k before commission and that he’s left with 120k every week. I still shouted liar driver.
Told him the real Koko and the guy agreed he won’t resign but will start driving on weekends.

more on weekend bonus

During rainy season filter trips to areas you have prior knowledge about so you can know where and where to route through

Thanks man.
I used to call them to know the situation the of the pickup and drop off .
Many riders lie so I guess ur method is better.
But won't it shoot up my cancellation rate.
Secondly I remember a product that was marketed to me years back,
before uber.
They said it's a liquid sealant which they use to line the insides of your tyre to prevent air leakage when punctured.
Does anyone have experience with this?

I disagree with you...

Whenever it's raining and you're not on a trip, don't let surge get over your thinking faculty of starting your ignition to hustle. Stay put in your car and chill till the rains stopped.

Select your trips although trips will keeps on coming in but if you truly follow this thread, you'll understand some locations you dont go during raining season.

Bolt/Uber will give you trips base on your location nothing concern them if you're chasing bonus or not. (Tech is randomly selecting trips for you not human being). It's basically a programming

Always target 2 to 3 long trips to meet your savings target.

Dont and never join the gang of people saying ehailing is slavery whatever instead praise God you're getting 2-5k profit a day. Some white collar jobs you admire out there, are nothing to write home about. Some are going home without being paid for months.

Always keep this below statement on your left hand

Always have a plan B and remember nothing beat a day money in Nigeria System of today Sorry UARian System of today grin

I agree with your points on the longer trips.

Irrespective of the location or season on bolt a driver is not supposed to spend up to that time to receive a request.

As a matter of fact I've never stayed 30min on any app without getting a request so why does it had to occur at such a critical time? It callls for questioning and investigation.

Those persons that believe it's just a program so doesnt not have the ability to distinguish btw a driver that is chasing bonus or not I just look and laugh at their ignorant. Programming is one of the easy ways to manipulate anything you the programmer wants to happen. You can manipulate things with just an introduction of letters, characters, symbols or numbers just know what you want and the time then know the right language to input and the right line to input it, run the programme and its done. Simple as ABC.

Dont wait till it happens to you before you believe it.

Yesterday, I took this two ladies from GIGM park at Ajah (close to Abraham Adesanya intersection) to an Estate off Ogombo road (well at least that’s what the bolt app displayed)

On our way, as I approached Abraham Adesanya, I checked Gmap to double check I was taking the right turn then I saw ‘you have arrived’ . For a Sec I was confused (but there is no estate for this intersection now, abi which kind wahala be this) then I took the turn. Just before raising an alarm I decided to check on the map myself with their estate name, (buzz!) na still same location

Then I asked the riders where they’re going to, they explained it’s deep inside ogombo and not here, that it must have been a glitch in the map or something.

So to the reason I am sharing this. I drove like 10min from Abraham Adesanya and like 6min off Ogombo road (note there are no traffic along this route). We got to their destination just before ending the trip, I saw 15min to trip completion. So I asked these ladies to change their destination to a landmark I picked up as we were approaching, them no wan gree o! Saying it’s the first time they will be experiencing this. That no driver as ever complained of their address or anything. I tried educating them on how the bolt algorithm works with Kilometers and time (them no gree listen o)

One of them come cap it all with the fact that they have never paid more than #600 for such trips, I was like what?? 20min of uninterrupted driving for #600? Stop playing with me ( you’ve been reaping a lot of drivers off their sweat it ends today grin)

Well With so much persuasion, they changed destination to the landmark, trip ended #1700. They were shocked! They frowned o but I made sure I took all my money (wetin concern me). After taking 2 more trips my ratings dropped, I know say na them

My Point is a lot of drivers especially we the new drivers, I not inclusive though (much thanks to this forum for this) still don’t understand how the algorithm works and in turn lose money, then complain of taking to many #500 trips undecided
