I wish you all the best. Pefuele:
Please kindly read between the lines before you respond next time. If you dnt understand what you are reading you can ask for clarification. When you are scheduling interviews on the appointment portal you put in your SEVIS ID. However, once you have scheduled you can't see it again. It can only be accessed on the back end by calling CGI. Except you want to book for another interview. Also, your SEVIS ID will also be written as you complete the school information section on the DS-160. So, both should tally. |

Congratulations. Please can I send you a private message? I have some questions about the AAUW I would like to ask you. Francangel: VISA APPROVED TODAY!!!
It’s God. I am still in awe because I never expected my interview to be so seamless, considering I was rejected on January 6, 2021 at the Lagos embassy. Glory be to God!!
Time: 7:45am Interview time: 10:10am Embassy: Abuja COA: $27000 GA: None External scholarship: $18000 Deficit: $9000 Second Attempt Consular cubicle: Box 6 (A male VO)
VO: Good morning. Me: Good morning sir. VO: So, what are you going to do in the USA Me: I am going for my Masters degree program in Journalism at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. VO: Why this school? Me: I chose the institution because it’s master’s degree in journalism provides the perfect blend of scholarly research writing and journalistic writing with flexible and practical courses such as Investigative News writing and reporting which for me are greatly responsive to the skill-demand of the present age and align with my own investigative journalism career objectives. I was also attracted to the school’s dedication towards community services that are targeted towards children. Additionally, I was awarded a fellowship grant by AAUW to undertake an investigative research on Child trafficking for my graduate study at UALR. This research will explore trafficking activities that occur from Benin Republic, which is the hub for trafficking, to Nigeria, which is the final destination for most trafficked children in West Africa. I will be working closely with Prof. xxxxx. So I believe getting all these from this university will prepare me appropriately for my career as an Investigative Journalist. VO: (nods his head and checks my I-20) Oh! That fellowship is AAUW here? (Points to my I-20) Me: Yes sir. VO: What is your university degree? Me: I have a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. VO: (nods again)What have you being doing since graduation? Me: After my graduation in 2018, I interned in major newspapers and magazines in Nigeria as a news writer, investigative reporter and copywriter, such as Bleep, Bleep Magazine and Bleep. I have also worked as a volunteer in Bleep, xxxx, xxxx and Bleep. Currently, I work as a testing specialist for xxxx, a hr software development company and I am looking to transitioning full time into the journalism world. VO: What does your father do? Me: He owns acres of land where he operates a commercial fertilizer farm business in Lagos. He develops and distributes organic and inorganic fertilizer and animal feeds to major Agro-businesses in Nigeria. He is also a well-respected real estate developer. He buys, builds and sells landed properties. My dad has also partnered with several organizations to provide land for their employees. VO: ( Takes the white slip and says the magic words) I would be approving your visa. You would need your I-20 at the point of entry bla bla bla ( I didn’t hear the rest ) Me: Thank you sir ( and I floated out of the room, I am sure I did not walk cos my legs were not touching the ground )
I would like to thank @horlahsunbo225, @schrodinger1 and @layez, for not getting fed up with my mock requests, chats and endless questions. God bless you guys real big!
PS: he didn’t ask for any document and trust me, the interview took less than 5 minutes.

Hello everyone. Please i am new here and i have been reading posts. Please i need help with an inquiry.
I booked an appointment and the first time i got a date for september 2021. I was able to reschedule about a month ago to a date in june. However two weeks ago, i got an email from the embassy that they automatically changed my appointment to july 29. My start date is August 11 so it is quite late and i am considering applying for an emergency appointment since my date has changed twice and now i cannot see new dates on my dashboard. But i have a few questions.
1. How long does the emergency processing take please? 2. If i am not able to get a new date that is closer, will i lose my July date? 3. Will they consider me for emergency appointment seeing as my interview date still comes before my start date (although very late)? 4. Is there any advisable reason to ensure i secure an emergency appointment?
Looking forward to replies. Thank you. |

Tylerbaby: How do folks with 40-70K SOA survive in the US? Apparently getting a US VISA is just the beginning, how about while in the country? How do they survive? I'm not talking for the Otedolas or Dangotes o.
Please I will also need clarity on this. I started following this thread recently. In your statement of account should your funds cover COA or Deficit? Also how is the deficit calculated. |

MooreCode: Hey Guys,
My first attempt. Help me thank God, my visa was approved June 3.
Thanks to everyone that posted their transcript here because I used it to practice.
My transcript:
VO : Your passport and I-20 Me: Good morning ( I passed it)
VO : Why did you choose this course and this school? Me : I have been an ardent follower of professor xyz and he happens to be a lecturer in this great institution. Also, I have a couple of previous and current colleagues who are graduates of this institution and they have amazing reviews about the standard of education.
VO: what do you do currently? Me: I’m a senior software engineer
VO: I can see you have a scholarship of 17k why is your sibling still sponsoring you with 32k? Me: before the scholarship, she has already promised to sponsor me with that amount.
VO: What does she do? Me: She was formally an accountant with xyz oil and gas Ltd but she currently runs her own company and she’s doing absolutely well.
VO: How long has she been running this company? Me: 2 years now
VO: Are you sure she can afford the amount since she’s been running this business in this country for just two years? Me: Oh yes, she makes a lot of profit and she already has a staff strength of 22 employees
VO: (Turns off mic and types for a long time and takes my i-20 to another of her colleagues to confirm a couple of things) Me: (singing in my heart Moses bliss song titled faithful to fail me, also praying that I’ll not leave here with a blue paper)
VO: (closed my passport and returned I-20 slide her had into the pile of white paper) Me: (singing in my heart JudiKay song titled Capable God)
VO: you’d need this 1-20 blah blah blah...(hand over my 1-20 with white sheet, said a lot of other instructions then said) I wish you a safe trip to the United States of America. Me: thank you.
When I stepped out, I was actually crying, a lot of people were telling me don’t worry you can try again, without realizing that I got an approval.
Guys, you need to pray, your visa is totally dependent on the person interviewing you, his/her mood and what ever they feel at that time.
A lot of people were more prepared than I was, answered better that I did, where asked more technical questions and they gave amazing answers but were also rejected.
I’m not trying to scare anyone but trust me, when you get there you’d see for yourself.

Good day everyone, I've been well enlightened by all your comments. Please I have a few questions concerning my VISA processing; 1. Can my maternal uncle serve as a sponsor for my deficit funding of $30k? 2. My program starts by August 11 and i'm just about to pay SEVIS fee to schedule my Visa interview, can i still get a reasonable Visa interview date? 3. Although i have my I-20 and a part scholarship of about $16k, i still hope to get a GA as i expect a decision on this soon. If the GA doesn't come through and maybe my uncle can't part with the funds in his account, can i get a private loan firm to pay for my admission in the US, or what other chances do i have?

Good Day Everyone. I have a bit of a challenge. I have my visa interview next week. This is after I requested an emergency booking. I just found out that on my DS 160 form, I indicated the course of study as Chemical Engineering but on my I-20 it's Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering. Would it be an issue during the interview? How do I answer/defend this error?

TWoods:
How can you be confused? the reason you were denied is staring you in the face. The VO gave you hints twice. First he reminded you that your reasons for choosing to school in the US was different from what you stated in your previous interviews. He gave you a chance to get your story straight... he asked you "so you want to work with the government now?"... meaning you had previously stated you wanted the degree to work elsewhere.
This is one of the biggest problems I have with people posting visa transcripts for vetting... you should prepare for your visa based on what YOU want to do - it is a personal decision, not based on what someone has told you will sound good. That way, you always have one story regardless of how many times you take the interview. The interview is about you, make your answers about you. Good Day Everyone. I have a bit of a challenge. Say whatever is on your I-20 and quit allocating brain resources to things you can't control or change, like this. I don't see a huge difference between both, if you had written nursing on your DS-160, then it's your legal right to start panicking. Focus on how to ace the interview jare. Best of luck. mimme14sure:
