Did you not just admit that Olu317 is a dullard? How is a dullard supposed to do anything effectively or know anything at all.

Oh I used to make sense?? Tell me more. But wait oo, you never admitted, at any point, that I make sense.

In other words, those times when I make sense to you, you insisted that I didn’t. Hen you lied T those times. Why should I think you’re still NOT an envious liar? Convince me. grin

If you like be running helter skelter, your yoruba brother Olu317 (a dullard according to you and i agree) has labelled you a liar.. i always saw u as a liar but a confirmation of that from your YORUBA brother Olu317 just tops everything..

But truly the Federal Government & the Government of Edo State must urgently do something to salvage the future of upcoming Edo generations.

By so doing, they too won’t continue to disgrace Edo state publicly has you’ve been doing on Nairaland vis-a-vis English sentences.

Ok show me someone else or a researcher that made that statement before Akintoye..
Show you “someone else or a researcher”?? cheesy

Well the same work (Akintoye 2010) already cites three different Professors of Yoruba & African history as authorities for the Yorubas’ account. IF only you will ever read a book. grin

This Oduduwa issue is one that is hunting (and would continue to hunt) you till the day your creator comes calling you. I know why, and you know why. grin

Olu317 really damaged u sha.. cain don nack abel lol
You forgot to admit here (as you’ve done above) that Olu317 is a dullard — an individual who is not capable of achieving anything.

How then can Olu possibly “dAmAgE” a bubble, much less dAmAgE Tao-the tormentor of Bini liars?? Are the Binis that fragile??

Anyways, I understand how desperate you are to cling to anything in an attempt to salvage your battered ego.

You’ve just being exposed again (as always) to be an unstable mythomaniac.

Before Ewuare's account was written it was told orally and in songs and folklores, there was no silence anywhere.. but your Oduduwa ife origin was never told in anything, never heard in anything or anywhere.. it was Nothing, there was Nothing.. abi u dont understand the phrase, "out of nothing comes silence"..

Your Ewuare-1 story was “silent in writing” prior to its first written collection in the 1900s.

The Yorubas’ own account of Oduduwa was “silent in writing” prior to its first written collection in the 1900s

Your Oduduwa ife origin was SILENT orally too.. nothing was ever heard like that before it was written.. Edo Oduduwa origin was written in the 1920s.

No, and I should be the one asking you this because this is the precise point I’ve been teaching your people for years.

Thank God you learnt on their behalf. You learnt the hard way though. cheesy

[s]Your Oduduwa ife origin was SILENT orally too.. nothing was ever heard like that before it was written.[/s]
Oh really!? Tell me more free jokes. grin

Very convenient! Just as me saying: Your Ewuare-1’s story WAS ORALLY SILENT prior to the first writings on it/him in the 1900s. wink

Having punched that in, the aboriginal Yoruba account (which states that Oduduwa’s historical roots is in Òkè Ọrà) WAS NOT ORALLY SILENT in the Yorubas’ cultural reality prior to its first written collection in the 1900s.

[s]Edo Oduduwa origin was written in the 1920s[/s]
Liar! I have pushed you to a very dangerous edge. grin

You’re unfortunately very wrong. And what is even more laughable is that you know you’re wrong. cheesy grin

From the 1880s to the 1960s, the accounts of the Edo people maintains that: Oduduwa is distinct & separate from a certain Edo person by the name Ekaladerhan.

In other words, the Edos never for once saw Oduduwa as an Edo — until in circa 1970 when Omoregie, et al. wrote that this Ekalderhan is the very same person by the name Oduduwa [/Omonoyan].

This falsehood was subsequently announced to the wider Edo public by their incoming Omon’oba during his coronation party.

However, professional/academic historians have done the world a great deal of good by courageously calling out the blatant dishonesty of this bunch of dishonest Bini revisionists and fraudsters.

For example, refer to the attached screenshot below for some details on the emergence of this false Benin revision.

Really u are a laughable person.. Oduduwa ife origin was not orally silent in yoruba cultural heritage but yet your yoruba brothers were shocked to hear it and have cursing u for ur lies

Edo origin of Oduduwa was first told and written in 1920s during the reign of Oba Eweka 2.. A yoruba historian/researcher interviewed the Oba and his palace chiefs.. it was during that interview it was revealed that Oduduwa is Ekaladeran..

Imagine! A “laughing stock“ calling others “laughable”. This is hilarious! grin

Having said that, many of your Edo brothers are of the strong opinion that both you & your Oba Ewuare-2 are cursed fools because you and he insist that Oduduwa lived. cheesy

Does their shocking/sharp disagreement with both of you on such more basic matter truly make you & him cursed fools indeed?? cheesy

In other words, many Yoruba youngsters are unaware of certain cultural realities as basic as certain Yoruba òwes (proverbs).

Since such unawareness is quite visible in the aspect of òwe, more unawareness is thus to be expected on deeper cultural aspects such as oríkìs (praise poetries).

Moreover, an even greater unawareness is expected on some of Oduduwa’s own oríkìs — particularly those that reference his actual community of origin.

On what basis would you then consider your people’s ignorance (and disagreement with you) as actual proof that both you and Ewuare-2 are truly cursed liars? You are as dumb as a piece of rock. grin

[s]Edo origin of Oduduwa was first told and written in 1920s during the reign of Oba Eweka 2.. A yoruba historian/researcher interviewed the Oba and his palace chiefs.. it was during that interview it was revealed that Oduduwa is Ekaladeran..You really know nothing..[/s]
Liar! cheesy

Stop re-telling your lie. A lie with more details is still a lie. grin

Scholars debunked it. I also did when I cited a source which touched on the 1970s emergence of this Bini dishonest revision. grin

See the attached screenshot again for an exposition on the emergence of this Edo dishonest revision in the 1970s in case your brain was under lock & keys earlier on. You’re a disgrace! cheesy

You’re on an ally seeking mission to float your sinking ship.

Don’t bother because I will only sink you further, and I will rescue your target prey from you. Watch!

(1) Yes the Yoruba word aṣọ translates to cloth [as well as clothe(s)] in English.

(2) However, the Yoruba word àlà does NOT translate simply to white, purity, or holiness in English.

(3) The Yoruba word for white, purity, and holiness, instead, are funfun, mímọ́, and ìwà mímọ́ respectively.

(4) The Yoruba word àlà translates into white cloth — not just anything white.

(5) Given the fact that àlà itself means white cloth, the Yoruba phrase aṣọ àlà can thus only mean “clothe(s) [made from] white cloth,” NOT white cloth itself.

(6) You are therefore terribly wrong to claim that the Yoruba phrase aṣọ àlà means white cloth. No it does not mean that.

(7) Moreover, the quite related phrase aláṣọ àlà has a somewhat more profound nuance as follows:

IF the word aláṣọ is used to convey the specific sense of wearer (rather than the more generic sense of owner), then it is already implicit that the aṣọ here is clothe(s) — i.e., garment, etc.

Thus, aláṣọ àlà in this context would translate word-for-word (explicitly) as follows: “the wearer of a [garment made from] white cloth”.

In other words, the word “garment” within parenthesis is already implied from the words “the wearer”.

As such, the words within parenthesis may be left unspelt out.

(8 ) @Olu317, rather than misdirect your energy into attaching a screenshot of aṣọ, I would have expected you to attach a screenshot that says “Àlà is white, purity, holiness”. That would have been easier.

(9) @Fregeneh, this reply to @Olu317 is to disillusion you from his delusions. He is sunk already. And I am not shying from taking responsibility for his sinking.

This detailed reply of mine is to sink him even further. Olu, I will keep exposing you to all our people all over Nairaland for the fraud that you are.

Since it is hard for you comprehend simple Yoruba devoid of some error by CMS dictionary writers of Yoruba to English translation. Perhaps, itp another person, ObalufonIII's when he defined Obatala ," King of white cloths or king of all things white, emanated from". And you assented

But here you trying to defend such against my view in which authors such as Professor Abimbola Wande, Chief Awodele Fayemi,Adeyinka Olaiya Falokun Fatunmbi ,Babasehinde Ademuleya, Abimbola, Wande , Ajanaku, Fabgemi 1970,Awolalu, J and Dopamu, P.A.Idowu, Bolaji wrote about Yoruba creation myth and all agree to the meaning of Elaa/Ala as a light

Below screenshot answers you grin grin cheesy grin.

“... errors by CMS dictionary writers ...” or what did I just read ?? LMAO!

We know that Olu317 is a fraud and dullard. What I did not know until now, however, is that he is deluded.

He proved it. He speaks Yoruba language better than the Yorubas who lived more than hundred years ago.

The Yorùbá people of yore informed us, through the Yoruba dictionaries that have come down to us from their time, that àlà means ”white cloth”.

However, Olu317 begs to differ with the Yorubas. How dare the Yorubas say that!? cries Olu. The missionaries who documented that information must have had their sinister motive, Olu thinks.

Perhaps Olu will explain to us that Christianity have a devilish agenda of wiping the word “white” off from all languages of the world except English. cheesy grin

Perhaps, itp another person, ObalufonIII's when he defined Obatala ," King of white cloths or king of all things white, emanated from". And you assented
First of all, I am lost as to what you mean by assented.

Also, please explain with proof how I did that. Tainkiu.

Secondly, why did you suffer from selective blindness to have missed out where the same person (who is your new authority) wrote: “... king of white clothes ...”??

Having said that, your latest authority didn’t say he was doing a word-for-word literal translation in that comment of his. Neither did he say he is an authority on translations. Nor is there any reason to think he is.

And if any of his two translations is to be assumed as a literal translation, the first, viz. king of white clothes would be the literal translation, while the second one which follows that would naturally be the extended interpretation, rather than the literal word-for-word translation.

But here you trying to defend such against my view
Yes, I have a right to defend the Yoruba language (as passed down orally and in written form in this specific case) from wolves in sheep’s clothing like you. Why are you mad that I’m exposing you?

••• in which authors such as Professor Abimbola Wande, Chief Awodele Fayemi,Adeyinka Olaiya Falokun Fatunmbi ,Babasehinde Ademuleya, Abimbola, Wande , Ajanaku, Fabgemi 1970,Awolalu, J and Dopamu, P.A.Idowu, Bolaji wrote about Yoruba creation myth and all agree to the meaning of Elaa/Ala as a light
None of these persons wrote anywhere that Elaa ẹ̀là is one and the same as àlà, neither did any of them write that àlà (or even ẹ̀là) means “light”.

Again, àlà signifies “white cloth,” while ẹ̀là on the other hand signifies “piece/s from a cleaved whole,” or “that which is illuminated or made explicit”.

Stop throwing around names thinking folks would be foolish as you to not ask for actual evidence to prove that these persons did indeed utter the actual words you have attributed to them.

Below screenshot answers you grin grin cheesy grin
Oh really!? cheesy Tell me more jokes. grin

The frail argument you built around the screenshot is already debunked above within this same comment.

Cheers!

“... errors by CMS dictionary writers ...” or what did I just read ?? LMAO!

We know that Olu317 is a fraud and dullard. What I didn’t know until now, however, is that he is deluded.

He proved it. He speaks Yoruba language better than the Yorubas who lived more than hundred years ago.

The Yorùbá people of yore informed us, through the Yoruba dictionaries that have come down to us from their time, that àlà means ”white cloth”.

However, Olu317, begs to differ with the Yorubas. How dare the Yorubas say that!? cries Olu. The missionaries who documented that information must have had a sinister motive, Olu thinks.

No, and I should be the one asking you this because this is the precise point I’ve been teaching your people for years.

Thank God you learnt on their behalf. You learnt the hard way though. cheesy

Cheers and take heart! cheesy

Yup.

They’re so confused. Poor revisionists. They can’t even get their revision right.
