Good afternoon. Please for the POF, is it a must I do a transaction on my account on day one and on day 28th day before printing out the statement? Or can I just leave the POF in the account for 28 days without performing any transaction and go ahead and print out on the 28th or 29th day? Because I saw a friend's statement today that had only two transactions within the 28 days (14/5/21 - 7/6/21) which are bank interest paid at the end of May and VAT deducted from the interest paid and he is confused as to if the statement of account is in order. Please someone help to clarify.
Thanks.

Well, I have never read it anywhere that it is mandatory to do a transaction. However, people have suggested that it is good to run the account at least with few transactions. The statement will look funny though without any transaction!!! LOL.

Preferably print on the 29th day. (May 1 - May 28, Printed on the 29th of May)

Can you adopt him legally? A close relative once planned adopting the last sibling. I now wish I followed up to know what happened. All I know is d boy is still here in naija. I honestly didn't ask if they changed their mind for any reason as I don't think they even did a passport. Ur case I'm sure is unique, u cud ask ur school for guidance. I do hope it all works out for you. BTW, kudos to you and your dear wife, God bless you both.
Thanks for your response, I sent a mail to UKVI Visa Queries, I explained everything to them, so I'm waiting for their response, I think they're in the best position to direct me, I will keep you updated on their response. Thanks

Try and see if you can legally adopt him, so he becomes your dependent that way.
Yeah, that's what I intend doing but I sent a mail to UKVI Visa Queries to be sure I'm doing the right thing. Thanks for your contribution.

Adopt him legally as your son. In that case you will be able to travel with him as your dependant. But you have to find out first if it is even possible to adopt your brother.
Hahaha, Sounds a bit weird adopting my brother, but sent them a mail to know the right thing to do. Thanks

He is your dependent as you are the one catering for him. There are rules guy but there are exceptions.

It's better you try than you didn't.

Sure, I will try, going for his passport tomorrow. Thanks

Please concerning the financial capability where we have to put money on the account.
I heard from someone saying they could check the account even at entry in the UK.
Please who is aware of this? I plan to touch the money after my visa approval.
‘Will appreciate your informed response please. Thank you guys

Little brother under 18?
Are you the legal guardian of the little brother?
Have you adopted the little brother as your son legally?

Hi Bosses in the house;

I have my little autistic brother who’s 15yrs and has been living with me since 2017 due to being bullied at the village. I intend to travel with him and my wife to UK for my studies only to read here that the only dependents allowed in your application is your spouse and children.

Please house, what would be the best option to travel with him as I can’t afford to send him back to the village to stay with my parents.

Please; your responses will be greatly appreciated.

Go to a court of law.
Apply to formally adopt him as your son.
The paperwork will be plenty.
When it’s all done, then good to go.
But if I was an ECO and I see that the date of adoption is June 2021, just prior to visa application, I would outrightly reject the application as the falsehood is too glaring.

Good day,

For the proof of fund (POF) which must be in my account for at least 28 consecutive days, can I during these 28 days apply for my visa online while the biometric data capture is done after the 28 days or do I need to wait till after the 28 days before starting the process at all?

Hi everyone,

Please, considering these two posts below:

VISA ALERT!!!

Submitted: 26/04/2021
Biometrics: 27/04/2021
Main applicant: Priority
Dependants: Standard
Family of 3.
Collection mail: 06/05/2021
Visa was actually approved:04/05/2021
All 3 received same day.

School: Coventry University
May intake.

It has been a long journey trying to get a study visa. After 5 refusal from Canada, we decided to calm down and later decided to go to UK instead. My wife actually loves Canada because her sister has been there.

We declared all refusal and stated the reasons.

I just want to say thank you to the brain behind Nairaland creation. It’s really helping.
Also let no one give up. We never did.

What God cannot do does not exist!

VISA ALERT

family of 5
Took about a week to finish all the 5 applications. Uploaded wrong statement, had to redo it at the centre. It wasn’t funny at all because we have extensive travel history and the documents were plenty. But it was for the best and thank God we even noticed the mistake.
Did biometrics on 27th April
No decision email
Collection mail 5th April
Picked up 5th April
Approval was since 29th

Main applicant - priority
Dependents standard
Picked up same day

Thank you everyone for your help and information. I wish everyone success on this journey. May we find favor in the Uk. Amen

....would it be right to assume that whenever one of the members of a family (applying together for UK visa) apply for PRIORITY VISA (PROCESSING) and others apply for STANDARD VISA (PROCESSING) that all the visas would be 'processed' within the response time of the PRIORITY VISA? Thank you.

You really think UKVI will reply you and say it’s ok to carry along your little younger brother as your dependant? On what basis? The basis that he has special needs and you don’t want him to live in the village for fear of him getting bullied?

I do not work for the UKVI.
I am not God.
But as surely as morning follows night, UKVI will just laugh at you and tell you it ain’t done that way.
I would suggest you begin to activate your plan -B, as this one will not fly.

UK People we like money like mad....
They will process each application on its merit.

Please note if your dependant(s) do not submit their visa application(s) at the same time as you, they will be required to submit evidence that you/they have held the required maintenance funds for 28 consecutive days in a bank account with their visa application(s).
