U made good submission but what I may not agree with you is ur stand that the Service will not accept his BSc. Or MSc. Degree for conversion and upgrading after confirmation. I know a couple of guys that got upgraded with additional certificates they had before joining the Service. The one the Service will not accept is the certificate you obtain while in service and without due approval letter to study. Worthy of note is the fact that it is always difficult and highly competitive to secure such slots. It sometimes will depends on available vacant positions left to be filled after promotion has been done.
God bless us all in the struggle and crown our efforts with Appointment Letters and every other thing will follow thereafter.

Please I'd like to know if after the APL has been issued what's next?

I hearing that I should wait after the APL has been given by the time camp resumes there might be a slot available to join.

My question is what's the mode operandi after the appointment letters has been issued?

Evening Officer, I still stand by what I said, I have the copy of the service rules. You can't upgrade with a certificate obtained without approval and also with a certificate obtained before appointment.
It's there in the Civil Service Rules.

Those your friends you mentioned, if they're in the Paramilitary then maybe they bought rank (illegal promotion, it is rampant in the NPF).

But you can't be in the civil service, working in a ministry as a level 03, 04 & 06 and say you want to convert with an old degree certificate you obtained before getting the job or a certificate without approval. It can't be done sir.

And by the way, the minimum qualification for upgrading to level 08 is a bachelor's degree. An Msc will only make you start from level 9/10. (And most times it's professionals like Doctors that start with level 09/10)
Msc will grant you an edge while entering the job, it won't help you for conversion. Cuz you can't jump from level 03 to 09. Except you resign and reapply again.

Finally, like you said it's always difficult and sometimes will depend on available vacant positions left to be filled after promotion has been done. This is very true!

It's a 50/50 thing... Just ensure u r following the right source... Of a truth there might be after APL is being issued out

No one is upgraded with a certificate gotten before he gets the job, no one. The best that can be done is, due to how difficult it cant be getting approval to study, some officers go ahead and obtain a BSc while in service, and when it's time to upgrade, they find a way and get approval to study which is then back dated. But as Sikpa04 has said, upgrading isnt done with a certificate gotten before you got into the service.

Hello there. Please, I just want clarification on my own issue relating to what you posted. I registered with my OND cert while undergoing NYSC. Now I'm done with service, can I still upgrade with my BSc?
If no, how do I upgrade to level 8 while in service?

Check a post made by Sikpa04 on the previous page.
To cut the long story, you cant upgrade with your BSc, because the date you got the BSc will be compared to when you got into the service. So as far as upgrading is concerned, the BSc is useless, you'll have to obtain another while in service. Like I said, check previous page.

For you to upgrade, you have to get another degree.

Boss you can't apply for level 08 and get an ID number of IA/03. The mistake should be from you during the application. The service can't just impose a position like that for you when they haven't given you the job yet.

To answer your second question, there's no fastest way to be upgraded asides acquiring the minimum qualifications (which is a Bsc) and experience in service (you must be confirmed). Mind you your present degree certificate won't be accepted for conversion asides the one you acquire while in service (as an officer).

I don't think it's a master's you should get, rather another degree in another field. People I know converted didn't use a master's degree but a bachelor's.

Note: If you have a strong connect you can be upgraded with your present degree certificate but the problem will arise when another CG comes and he is now a "No nonsense man". You may be demoted if it comes to that (Yes cuz overtaking is not allowed) grin
Just follow the right way.
Thank you!
Will the bsc certificate obtained after getting employed be tenable with the oncoming CG?

Morning sir, I'm sorry there is no such thing as a supplementary list. Don't build castles in the air and waste your time. This is the Paramilitary and not University admission, once a list is released that's it. No one will call anyone again except the if the exercise is cancelled (which the board won't even think of cuz they need officers especially mid level and junior cadre) or you're using back door to enter.
Have a nice day sir. Thank you!

Thank you for your response bro.

So, as it stands, I can't upgrade directly from level 3 to level 9 (SSCE to Master), I rather have to obtain another Bachelor degree to level up. Damn!
