The US may soon start imposing sanctions on this regime.

"There are nearly 40 M Twitter users in #Nigeria, and the country is home to Africa's largest tech hub.

This suspension is nothing more than state-sanctioned denial of free speech and should be reversed immediately."

Funny thing is Nigerians would now be twitting from various International IP address

Which means the problem of this country would be disturbing the Twitter thrends of these western nations

That is why they are running from pillar to post advicing us not to use vpn

Buhari dug a pit for himself

Right on point. What FG sought to avoid has already given them out to the international communities. Our trends and news now seen as trends in other international communities. Thanks to VPN

One Aboki was asking how is Twitter a right

Well Freedom of Expression, Association of Legal Bodies, Expression of Opinions is a fundamental human right in every Democracy

Twitter is the largest platform where People can air their opinions easily, a legal body everyone has right to associate with

Essentially Twitter is the right to every Nigerian who wants it

Then, why did they delete the president tweets? after all Twitter is all about free speech right!

Freedom of speech is guaranteed but freedom after speech no necessarily guaranteed when it goes against the law.

Stop you shouldn’t stop people from talking and that is what Buhari did

This looks like the beginning of a cold war. I no trust our new foster parents (China). This war they are dragging us into is to eventually make us completely dependent on them but I might be wrong it could be to teach us how they became strong enough to shake the US on anything. But I don't trust Chinese.. not today and this doesn't smell too good

This thing called politics eh!
I knew the moment Trump drummed support for Buhari's twitter ban,I knew U.S government would respond.
Meanwhile APC online miscreants rejoicing about Trump's support for their Bubu's twitter ban, hope you guys would rejoice more and support Trump as he continues his unending bashing and antagonizing on Buhari's chief borrower,China. grin
Ofcourse we know how frosty the relationship of China and Trump is & also the how China is in bed with Biden.
It's a season of political confusion... grin grin
BMCs don't have deep brains. They only know how to push propaganda given to them. So no need lecturing them on international politics.

They are stupid? What's the government making from all those apps?
They don't pay any revenue to Nigeria while they rake in billions.
I support they government on their new policies.

They must have an office here and get license to operate in Nigeria before they can do business here.

No time for nonsense.

The issue here is not Twitter. It about the denial of the people's right.

I thought the tweet made that clear?

Twitter is not a right. Twitter is a private company. It can be suspended or banned. It can even enter administration.

The same US that your president ran to immediately Trump was sworn in. Buhari was even called Lifeless by Trump and referred to Nigeria as shithole. We didn't ask anybody to respect our sovereignty then since we went there begging.
