Mission are doing great in Anambra state

St Charles Borromeo hospital Onitsha added another beautiful edifice full equipped with modern medical facilities

This is a wonderful edifice. But, Nigerians know how to make beautiful things ugly. It cost A LOT to use bricks in beautifying this edifice.

Couldn't a little more have been spent to buy extra wires and tubes to ensure all those A/Cs are brought to the ground level? So that they don't hang off the wall haphazardly like a ghetto apartment in Minx?

Look at the arialview of Anambra state capital in 2021(Highway state capital). Is this loudable or laughable? Will heaven fall if the state government dualize this Arthur Eze avenue and Unizik temp site to Okpuno/Isuaniocha bridge?

The truth of the matter is that Anambra state has no capital city yet. I wish a massive virgin area would have been developed gradually to be the modern capital city of reference. I am aware of the Three arms Zone but no attention is given to it and I do not think it is massive enough.
The International Conference Centre, Stadium, the three arms of government, Town/Shopping Centre with Massive paved motor free open space (There should be Park and Ride outside the town centre) Cinemas, Clubs, Ecumenical Centre, Museum, Igbo or Anambra Hall of Fame, 4 to 5 Star Hotels and Corporate or Zonal Headquarters of companies etc should be in this fresh mini city.
When this is done, then there will be MUST VISIT special place in the state. As of now, if I visit Nigeria, there is virtually no ONE STOP SPECIAL PLACES OF INTEREST in Anambra state in mind to go to.
I hope I will not be insulted for this suggestion.

Anambra has the fastest developing capital city in the entire igbo land with beautiful flyovers, roads, best international conference centre, etc. Anambra is the only state in igbo land that's also building from scratch another brand new city- Awka Millennium city which is poised to be the best neighbourhood in igbo land. Awka international conference center is the largest and most iconic in the entire eastern region. Anambra has the most interesting places to visit in the entire igbo land.

Anambra has the best airport in igbo land. Anambra international airport is now the international gateway to the eastern Nigeria. Envious bitter people from other states camping here to spew their lies. The whole of Anambra is full of interesting places from Awka to Onitsha and all parts of the state. If you are looking to visit the only truly international airport in the region, then visit the Anambra international airport

your point is valid but Obiano has laid a foundation for Awka to start the process of blossoming into a classy city. Obiano is a US resident he should try to partner a progressive American city in a twin city arrangement ( Sugarland in Texas or even Fishers in Indiana) so that our civil servants can learn the art and science of proper town planning especially municipal planning law enforcement and control. In terms of IGR generation, the next governor can learn from Lagos and Kigali in Rwanda.

Thank you my partner in suggesting for a better future Anambra State. It is too late but I wish Ekwueme Square, the ICC and even the stadium are located in this Brand New Awka Capital City which would be unencumbered by traditional homesteads.

i do not think its too late , there is a lot of land between awka and the airport in umueri to realize a new capital city but I do not feel that is even necessary in the first place. With good town planners we still achieve our dream of a befitting capital city within awka.

There was a report some months or a year back on the parlous state of the hostels at UNN, with specific mention of the FRANCO hostels. Anyone know if they've now been refurbished?

I've noticed Unizik and Odumegwu Ojukwu universities have an advantage over UNN in the sense that they don't lack high-networth Anambrans prepared to spend big bucks to support and fix up their infrastructure! UNN on the other hand, seems largely to have been left to the pitiable funding they get from Abuja! Maybe it's also a case of UNN not being able to manage and apply its internal revenue properly, because with the huge amount of students they have and all the fees charged, i don't see why those FRANCO hostels would be allowed to rot to the level we saw in the pics shown about a year or so ago! Also, all the wealthy Lions and Lionesses don't seem to be doing much for their alma-mater!

The commissioner took his time to explicitly describe the beautiful Awka international conference centre. This should be the largest so far in the southern Nigeria. I don't know the size of Abuja ICC.
