The demand for dollar is far far far higher than any gains the country is seeing in rising oil prices. Can’t you see that even common man that doesn’t need dollars is converting his Naira life savings to usd and sending offshore

Dude earns less than #100,000 as salary. But he currently wants to convert his money to dollars.

I don’t know about this guy you are talking about but some of those ministers that negotiated their salaries in USD have good reasons. Adeshina, Ngozi, Aganga, the NSE Oga, the Sovereign Wealth Fund Oga and many more were recruited from abroad where they were earning USD, paying mortgage, school fees and other expenses in USD. It makes sense for them to be paid in USD na.

You they even go far. If you're a developer and you're working in another African country, you will be paid in USD because you can't be in Ghana and be earning naira, Cedis may also not favour you if you don't plan to stay long term in Ghana.

Who said she's greedy? Infact, what she did is exactly what a reasonable person should do in a declining country like Nigeria.

The problem is the Nigerian government. Accepting to pay anyone in a foreign currency simply means they don't believe in our country at all. You can't go to US and tell the government to pay you in another currency.

No sanction if the respective funds you redeemed stayed the minimum holding periods and no fund manager will sanction you for bringing in your money because that is what keeps them in business.
