thebosstrevor1: There is an Indian one called kooo (it's actually a double o, bit this site rejects the word). They are making inroads into Nigeria in the light of the Twitter ban. They are doing some very aggressive moves as we speak. |

Dammyrosky: My friend go and sit down. This whole excuse of ''we cannot be a developed country SINCE we are not a developed country'' is lazy and redundant. Nigeria is a developing country. You will NOT have that 'conducive environment' El Dorado you demand before you can be productive. Of Indians can create all sorts of apps, SO CAN YOU. There is no problem we have in Nigeria which they don't have in India, from power cuts to corruption, to nepotism, tribalism etc. Yet they do stuff regardless. You must be proactive. Take one step at a time, and stay the course. If the idea is good, eventually you will blow. 1 Like |

I still don't understand how Nigerian youths cry unemployment. You can literally go on YouTube right now and learn ANY SKILL FOR FREE, within a matter of weeks or even days. Learn, it and then start offering the services as a business person. What skills? Web Design, Fancy Bakery, Bar B Q Grilling, Computer Repair, Accounting, Event Management, Interior Design, Import/Export, I mean....every damn skill, man. FREE OF CHARGE. So why not learn a skill, hustle some starting capital, however small, and take off? But no. Every day na Buhari this Buhari that. |

Rissimenky: You should be more concerned about the killings in the North. If the President had handled the herders-farmers conflict the same way he handled his deleted post on twitter, maybe just maybe there wouldn't have been and killing in the east |
Re: Nigerian Youths, Why Not Build Your Own 'Twitter' Instead Of Abusing Buhari? by Rissimenky: 9:23pm On Jun 09, 2021 |
chicoMX: Have you any idea how many Nigerian soldiers have been lost fighting Boko Haram in the north? Or how many terrorists have been killed in the north? How many bombing raids undertaken by the airforce? The numbers are in the THOUSANDS. So this idea that the federal government is ''not doing anything in the north'' while targeting the East, is borne of the deepest ignorance and wilful bias. 1 Like |

History555: I don't need to invent anything. And I'm not missing Twitter. As I am now, i still don't know how to use that Twitter. I find it very confusing and disorganised. Plus, building an app is not ''invention''. You're just building an app. The way you build a house. Nobody is asking for invention, but innovation. Creativity. Positivity. The way Twitter is set up, there's definitely room for an improved, more user-friendly platform. |

Young man, how much are you being paid by this government? because I'm very sure you work with this government the way you defend them and don't even criticise them even when they make mistakes. |
Re: Nigerian Youths, Why Not Build Your Own 'Twitter' Instead Of Abusing Buhari? by Rissimenky: 9:36pm On Jun 09, 2021 |
musa234: Spend more time on productivity than ''criticising''. BE THE CHANGE YOU SEEK. Do you think Buhari reads your criticism? If Innoson spent all his time ''criticising'' on Nairaland, he'd still be selling spare parts in Nnewi market. BE THE CHANGE YOU SEEK. 2 Likes |

History555: Necessity is the mother of invention. All the necessaries have been invented. We are not asking for inventions, but for innovation, creativity and a positive attitude, as opposed to the ''blame govt for everything'' culture, which is unproductive. |
Re: Nigerian Youths, Why Not Build Your Own 'Twitter' Instead Of Abusing Buhari? by musa234(m): 9:41pm On Jun 09, 2021 |
Rissimenky:yeah but sometimes we should criticize and it should be constructive. We all want a better Nigeria don't we? Every government should be open to criticism and work towards it. I know that they cannot please everyone cos there will definitely be haters and sadist, but nevertheless we have no other country to call our own, if not Nigeria and so we should do everything humanly possible to make things work. |

@OP. You're wasting your time with Nigerian youths. Many are follow-follow complainers who want to be spoonfed and don't believe they have the power to deliver solutions and the change they want. I asked the same precise question you now do on a previous thread. The lack of response only shows that Nigerian youths themselves know what they are in the majority. I.e worthless, lazy and never ready to be part of the process of solution delivery. They all have an entitlement mentality without realising our nation is too troubled and too needful of innovative solutions from everyone for us all to just dump everything on a few people we elected as leaders and assume will do everything include wipe our asses for us. Should Nigerian youths be complaining of twitter ban or should they actually see developments as an opportunity to quickly fill the gap the absence of Twitter has created? https://www.nairaland.com/6592522/fg-twitter-talks-after-suspension/2#102496749 We can disagree with the ban of twitter by Buhari but what we must never support is a crew of Western nation coming together to bully Nigeria, as a sovereign nation, to rescind her ban of twitter. |

Rissimenky: I know how foolish u defend this govt, and attack Igbos. So govt clamp down on people criticizing or expressing themselves is right to you ? You talk of youths replicating similar platforms, who says that the same FG won't shut them down if they feel the platform challenges their wrong doing by allowing the people criticize them. Don't even use nairaland that can't match twitter as comparison to get the peoples voice heard Youths will only be loyal to themselves & what benefits them & can do more nationalistic innovations for other countries than her own & why is that ? What has this so called Nigeria done for them that they should be patriotic to wretch of a country. That's why majority of people put their tribe & region first before this abomination called Nigeria Now the youths are putting first & pledging their alliance to a multicorp platforms than her own govt and u can't ask yourself why is that ? You have a platform that offers u to express & excerise ur freedom of speech while on the other hand a govt that gags its people from criticizing them. Endears protest was justified but instead to focus on solving the problem they went to arrest those that funded the campaign & attacked twitter for enabling us the youths to speak out & bring the attention of the world us Just keep writing trash. |

mrvitalis: The desire to turn your creativity into business shouldn't be dependent on what the president does first. Seun Osewa who, in 2005 founded Nairaland that we are using now didn't wait for Obasanjo to solve all the problems in Nigeria before he established this platform. 1 Like |

oyatz: Some people are just simply incapable of rising above petty sentiments and emotions. What is wrong or out of place in OP asking why Nigerian youths have to act like junkies addicted to everything imported from the West? Twitter is banned in Nigeria. Would it amount to a Rocket Science feat for a Nigerian youth to attempt to launch an alternative to twitter? If we cannot source solutions ourselves, such as replacing twitter with a Nigerian-created alternatives, then we should refrain from blaming Buhari for everything and accept we are all losers collectively and unproductive dullards. 1 Like |

We already have it..... it's called nairaland. The site only needs an upgrade, unfortunately it was created by a boomer who is contented with collecting #10 per Ad. But I actually prefer nairaland...... unlike twitter, it's free from alot of bvllshit and influencers who try to shape public opinion, nairaland is pure and authentic with no fliters and great for understanding the nigerian society, plus it's actually alot more non biased than liberal twitter..... I've had 3 twitter accounts suspended just because I have conservative views, but same stupid twitter allows people to post harfcore porn, like wtf Basically, twitter especially nigerian Twitter is full of alot bvllshit..... it's all about rt's and likes. Seun, I really think you have an opportunity in your hands, this site needs an upgrade....I recently found out that I could upload audio recordings but it's a largely unknown and unused feature because of the way the site is structured. Nairaland is just scratching the surface of it's true potential. |

Rissimenky: Well said. But you could have left out the last 2 paragraphs. It's actually an opportunity for app developers to provide a local social media platform that could garner enough attention and subscription to compete in the global market. |
