Sad this isn't the case with most Nigerian PhD students. Your lecturer is more of a demi-God and you get your degree mostly on how loyal and respectfully you are instead of research..

My girlfriend, after being supervised by her Personal academic tutor in the UK, she learned valuable lessons about their relationship, it isn't predatory but cordial and understanding. Now, she applies this to her relationship with her students and supervisees here in Nigeria and she is regarded as the most friendly and approachable lecturer in her department.

A PhD candidate that is about rounding up his programme with 4 SSCI publication would you say it’s a good one, most especially when the individual desires a faculty position abroad?

What justification does one have to claim multiple publication in a year most especially for social science disciplines and no funding in all? Is it what is obtainable? Would it not seem questionable?

How would you respond to this reviewers comment: “ I doubt the data used for the analysis, as the authors failed to justify the process that account for the ease in obtaining a response rate of 75%”.

Finally, how do you approach scholars in your field for mentoring and not make a fool of yourself most especially when you have a PhD and there are expectations that you should know certain basic things but in all honesty you don’t know them.
