Some people are trying to offset bills and loans and selling their item is the only way to do that. So instead of telling them the price to sell, go to the market close to you and buy...

It seems you are smoking something far higher than colorado, maybe Alaska or something.

How do you explain someone selling a freezer he bought for 100k 5 years ago, for 130k now because of the current situation of the country? Is that not banditry and highway robbery?

They will decrease fuel prices and all the stations will refuse to immediately effect the pump price saying it is an old stock, but immediately they increase fuel prices, they won't remember that it is an old stock and will effect the new price same day. We are all thieves in this country and it can never be better with the current crop of people and their attitude.

We are our own problems in this country.

I have mostly been a silent follower here and it is time I said something. Truth is that like 97% of Nigerians are immensely greedy and selfish. They want the world and will not give even a sliver of it to anyone else if they can help it.

I remember back in my old street a woman had some pieces of old wood she was not doing anything with. A neighbor asked to buy the wood for some trifling sum to use in cooking food and the woman refused, cos the sum offered was small to her. Know what the woman did? She went and burnt the pieces of wood. I can still remember the blaze and the heat the wood produced. Yeah, to that woman it was better to burn pieces of wood that were of absolutely no use to her than to dash them to a neighbor, or collect a small sum from the same neighbor, who will then use the wood to cook food and save money on kerosene.

Why is this story relevant? Because we Nigerians are tend to be too much like that woman who would rather set something of hers afire than gift them out and get something small in return. We want gain in everything and would rather put up our old and useless stuff for sale than dash it out. And when the old stuff we put up for sale has no buyers or cannot be bought at the price we stated, we would rather throw the stuff away than dash it out.

See, this is a clearance thread. A fkin CLEARANCE THREAD. I am yet to buy something here, but I am a daily visitor and I am disgusted and highly annoyed at what is happening. There's no more use trying to explain the meaning of a clearance thread to people here.

What's needed is a Super Mod who can accurately and quickly ascertain if prices on posted items qualify as clearance prices. If that is not the case, the poster should be banned from the clearance thread for at least a month. Three consecutive offences get them banned for life. Nothing else will restore sanity on this thread because we Nigerians simply cannot hear word and are too stubborn to obey simple rules. embarassed

Ever since the Naira began it’s rather frequent decline against the dollar 4 years ago, Nigerian sellers/dealers have developed a wicked habit of using their customers to put themselves back in the position they were before the Naira depreciated against the dollar. It is wrong.

It is not a must that you buy the same quantity of goods that you bought when the dollar was going for N380/$1 now that it is going for N500/$1. You already had a markup/margin when you bought your goods at the old exchange rate, maintain it. You would not be selling at a loss.

If you must buy the same quantity of goods to restock then add to your capital. It is not fair to pass that burden overnight on to your customers.
