Good morning, it seems most schools will open their fall 2022 application by August/September. What are the needed things one can start doing till then. Thanks.

Omonikansoso:
Please I'd appreciate your advice.

I was denied three times for an f1 visa btw 2018&2019. Two masters program and phd. All without funding. My spouse studies in the US and both universities I applied were same as his. During the interviews, the Visa officers asked if I have kids(I dont) and kept asking why I'm applying to same school as my spouse ( this question came up in the three interviews and it was at this point I got denied). My response was along these lines: Emotional support for both of us, research in the school that aligns with mine.
I have however secured a full funded PHD program with surplus funding( the surplus scares me sef) in Engineering in Missouri ( my spouse stays at Florida). How do I respond to a question e.g why are you going to same country with your spouse? (Married for 4years, no kids yet). How do I prove ties asides having a lecturing job with the Federal Government?

I take God beg una make una help a sister make my funding no waste. Thanks

Congrats on your admit with full funding. Have you considered applying for F2 visa instead of F1? Did you fill it in your DS 160 form that you already had a PhD degree? If yes, you may be asked by the VO about why you are going for another PhD program. If you have research experience, you can look for schools in the US that can take you into their postdoc fellowship programs. If your husband has funding, he can request that your own i20 for dependents should be sent to you and then you can apply for F2 visa with that. Those are the other options you have, however since you have admission with full funding and you have applied for F1 visa interview, just be hopeful that your next F1 visa interview will be successful.

Check Wakanow. Chibertha said Kenyan Airways is running a promo. Although my advise would be to book the following- Qatar, Lufthansa or Delta grin ((Amen?) ( In this order as your bank balance can carry) .From what I heard, they have the best services. Have a blessed week ahead!

Hello please carefully read her write up. She didn’t say she has a Doctorate degree. She said she has been denied visa for 2 masters and a PhD

Good day guys. I'd need your advice concerning my visa appointment.
My school's start date is August 9th though international students can resume on July 28th. On the 12th of this month (Saturday) when I was ready to book the earliest date I saw was September 7. I booked the September 7 and requested for an emergency appointment.
Today I can see the earliest date is July 29th. Would you advise me to reschedule to July 29th or wait for the embassy's reply concerning my request for an emergency appointment?

I have been going through part 13, 14, 15 for days now(I'm still not through though) and I'm here to tell prospective applicants (like me) that this thread is rich.

Please don't be lazy, just go through the the thread and you never can tell what you would find. You may just stumble on an approved transcript that suits your profile.

Moving forward, these I noticed were recurring questions (you can add yours, we are here to help each other and this also, is my little way of helping those trying to tailor their transcript)

(1). What are you going to do in the U.S./what is your
travel plan?

(2). Why the U.S?

(3) How did you come about this school?

(4). How many schools did you apply to?

(5). Name them?

(6). Why this particular school? (i.e. the school you
chose)

(7). What are your study plan/tell me about this
program?

(8. What are the courses you will be taking (note this, if you give a superb answer to 7, there won't be any need for the 8th question

(9). Why this degree?

(10). What will this degree do for you?

(11). What have you been doing/what do you
do/currently do?

(12). Who is your sponsor/who is paying for this?

(13). What does your sponsor do?

Some of these questions are interwoven as y'all have noticed. if you answer some well__example (1) "what's your travel plan" there won't be need for 7 and 8...

Please gurus in the house, are there other questions we should be looking out for?

Lastly, Good luck to those having their interview this week. May the almighty God walk with you and make you find favour in the sight of your VO. Amen.

Girlbestfriend:

I have never been to the embassy for F-1 visa before but from reading so my transcript here, I personally think you brought that followup question to yourself. There was no need for that (the bolded statement) instead you would have told her how what LSU was offering aligned with your interest..

Anyways, Best of luck on your next interview. Just pray for grace and favour in the sight of the VO. There is nothing God cannot do.

Good morning all, I have really benefitted from the this thread. However I need your expertise on 2 issues I have.

1. First of all I have 2 uncles in Texas but we are incommunicado for almost 10 years, is it neccessary for me to add their details in the DS-160 Form in the space for list of family members in the US.

2. While I was in the law school a few years back, a travel agency organised an excursion to the US. We were divided into batches, I was in the second batch scheduled for the next day. When the first batch got to the embassy, they discovered that the travel agency was fraudulent and didn't forward their details to the embassy, hence they were denied the visa. I didn't bother to go for the interview the next day because of this. Will my absence be treated as a visa denial.

Regards

Epithet:
I think the perspectives that have ensued in the discussion about posting school names on transcripts might have been one-sided(i.e how other people benefit from an OP declaring their school on a transcript). How about the benefit(s) an OP gets from posting their schools like alumni reaching out to them to give directives, or just other students presently in the program reaching out to create rapport that would ease the OP settling into the program.

I would give the simple illustration, a closed hand cannot give or receive. So I figured I would highlight the other perspective of how hiding your schools can also be detrimental to the OP in one way or the other. At the end to each their own.

Ps: If you're curious folks are being reached out to because they posted their schools and literally the correspondence is sometimes to their benefits nothing more, think of folks that offer airport pickups and recommendations on how to navigate programs.

God bless you for this perspective!

Good afternoon guys.
Please I am in a fix.

My husband and I got admissions in the USA.
I got a full tuition waiver, but my husband doesn't have funding. Different schools but same state.

Should we both apply for F1 F1 or should one person apply for F1 while my husband apply for F2.
Can he change his status in the USA to F1. He really wants to do this masters and he cannot defer again.
Please seniors I need your Honest insight.

Please, guys, help in clarifying this.
I need to get my transcript from my school before applying to schools. As I don't have student copy

My school is asking for the address where I want the transcript to be sent to.
I don't have student copy yet. I will get my own student copy in the process when my school is sending to the address I want it to sent to.

Is it advisable I registered with WES to get my transcript evaluated before applying to school.
That will accept my CGpA?.
Is it compulsory I evaluate my transcript before applying to schools?
