My elder brother is there (Texas) although he isn't the one sponsoring me, I'm sponsoring myself, I'm just kinda a novice in the whole migration process. Brother I am currently working on that...would leave this year by God's grace...I need to upgrade my connect...besides what part of the world do u reside

You brother could've helped by applying for family based visa for you. It takes time but green card is sure.

Talk to him about that and still try your luck with vacation or study route.

Spend N1M from that money on graduate studies - GRE, TOEFL, intl passport, application fees, transcripts etc. You would get into a good program, use the remainder for investments and enjoyments.
