Guys let’s not ruin this thread with constant insults while complaining of prices of things posted. This might discourage some people from posting their stuff due to fear they would get bashed.

My idea of the purpose of this thread is to clear household items not needed by the seller not a place to market items sold from a shop, on the other hand it’s not a distress sales thread where you can get the items at ridiculously low rates

Also, consider the fact that some people have items to sell that they inherited or didn’t buy themselves (perhaps gifted) or bought several years ago and may genuinely not know the going market rate. You can’t possibly sell something bought in 1991 for the same price in 2021, especially for properties that appreciate in value. You also have to deal with buyers with CPS (chronic pricing syndrome), who want to buy something worth 300,000 for 3k just because it’s on the clearance thread, bargaining is allowed but some CPS enthusiasts take low fixed or starting prices being advertised as an invitation to outrightly rip your pockets out and steal the item from you, then get angry if you refuse to go lower than advertised. There is really no metric for determining what clearance price is right for an item as you might have to consider various factors listed above and also the location and demand for the item. For example Alex may really need something in Borno but can’t find it in the market cos the sellers have fled due to crisis in the region. Sani may still have the item for sale in Borno and just needs the cash to relocate elsewhere for safety. His cost of the item would be very different to the cost of the item in a place where it can be easily gotten. Seeing the bashings on the thread, Sani May be discouraged to post the item, whereas Alex might have been grateful to pay anything for it.

The best we can do is suggest to people who post prices we deem unfair to review them for a quick sale. Outright insults should be discouraged or kept to a minimum. Let’s keep it civil please.

To the sellers, if you have an item that is unconventionally priced here, courteously explain why you have done so and don’t insult those who genuinely feel you have gone over the mark.

Okay that's not really what I meant as the OP might have done brief testing but unforseen is always unforseen esp in used item sales i.e cars,refrigerators,air-conditioning sets can be tested but you face repair task the next day
