Even though they have been searched and nothing incriminating was found on them, I strongly believe these guys have a mission which they have not mentioned. They need to be interrogated the Nigerian police way..what if they are terrorists and the trucks conveying the arms they will bear moved ahead of their trip

Stop confusing yourself. Do you mean you cheered outsiders on while they go on a killing spree in your states? The Igbos were proud of the UGM..don't get tired yet. If any northerner is caught in the East bearing rifles like the UGM, he must be a recruit of Nnamdi Kanu

So okada business is now profitable in IMO
than any other peaceful state in southern Nigeria. And do you expect them to move with anything incriminating before wise men lolz

Permit me to ask a logical question:

If we say the security forces on instruction from the government or presidency are protecting these people, why then were they caught?

They are nothing but TERRORISTS. The UGM needs to start treating trucks especially DANGOTE's coming from the north to the east as TOOLS of TERRORISM because they use his trucks mostly to transport these uncircumcised BASTARDS to the south.

These guys are going for Okada business... This is the same way my cousin came from nasarawa to ibadan... The driver told them, he would be be coming on a particular day and they all gathered at kefi. He's been here with me for over a month... He didn't collect any number from them, everyone left to his destination that day... He even told me he won't recognize any of them even if he comes across anyone... Please release them... They don't even know themselves apart from here

They’re probably going to try Okada business…
And yet I would be shocked if there’s more than 1 or 2 valid driver’s licenses (if at all) among the lot of them.

Good thing BSO is banning/discouraging Okada…
Or they will all likely be headed to an underbridge and/or orthopedic ward here in Lagos

They may be legitimately seeking for greener pasture, I have lived in all parts of the country, some of our problems can be solved if we integrate enough. Okada business is more profitable in Imo state than it is in Nasarawa, there more opportunities for unskilled labour in the South than in the North. The chief cause of migration is for economic reason, until the economy of Nigeria bounces back, we will continue to see an increase in the number unskilled youths migrating from North to South.

In a country with a 200m population to feed…
Able-bodied youths shouldn’t be short of work opportunities, if they’re ready to get their hands dirty.

Also for a nation that routinely import artisans from Benin Rep, Togo, etc…
Able-bodied youth can carve out a nice living by investing less that the cost of an Okada bike in basic artisanal skills.

Movement of people from one part of the country to another for survival is not a crime. As long as they are Nigerians and nothing incriminating was found on them, they should be set free immediately. My problem is with the illegal migrants from Senegal, Niger, Burkinafaso, Chad, Sudan etc. who carry arms and migrate through the forests unleashing mayhem on Nigerians and threatening our peaceful coexistence.

BENUE STATE: SPECIAL FORCES ARREST 73 MEN ON THEIR WAY TO IMO STATE

Operatives of the 72 Special Forces Brigade, Nigeria Army, Makurdi, acting on intelligence report, yesterday apprehended 73 young men of various addresses, all from Nasarawa State at Agan Toll Gate, Makurdi, on their way to Imo State.

The young men, with 47 Bajaj motorcycles were in 5 trucks conveying some minerals from Plateau State to a Port Harcourt based company.

Benue State Deputy Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu, who was there this morning commended the Special Forces for their diligence and professional conduct. He stated that despite the attempts to evade arrest, the soldiers were able to apprehend the trucks and arrest the men.
He was happy that contrary to the speculations in town about the confiscation of a truck loaded with arms and men to attack the town, no arms were found after a thorough search conducted by the soldiers.
He however expressed surprise that such a large number of young men from the same state could be found together going to a place, like Imo State, which they know to be experiencing serious security challenges at the moment.

Engr. Abounu charged the security men to carry out a detailed profiling of the passengers for further action as the answers coming from them do not add up.
Speaking on the issue, the Commander of 72 Special Forces Brigade, Lt. Col. AD Alhassan said he and his men acted based on security report as they moved to intercept the trucks immediately they got the hint that they were heading towards Makurdi. He said they spent a couple of hours a waiting for them before they finally arrived at night.

He said a thorough search has been conducted on them with all goods on the trucks offloaded and their motorcycles dismantled for proper search, but said no arms were found.

When questioned, one of the young men, who claimed his name is Emmanuel Ayugwa said they were going to Imo State to do Okada business. He said though they were aware of the serious security challenges there, they decided to go because their brothers there told them that everything had calmed down.

Mr Ayugwa, who said they only chose to travel with their bike using the truck to lessen their expenses, could not however explain how all of them from different places in Nasarawa State were able to find themselves in the trucks, which started their journeys from Plateau State.
Findings through a phone call with the manager of ANYANG KUANGYE INVESTMENT LIMITED, the company that owns the minerals shows that the trucks were loaded with lead, zinc and barytes from Plateau State and headed for a company in Port- harcourt.

The manager said he was not aware of the arrangements by the driver to carry any other person apart from the motor boy and a company escort, and that, they were strictly warned not to carry anyone else in the trucks.

At least they have cleared the way open in imo state for them so the state is free for them now to go and operate
