Some of you go everywhere borrowing. How about you save and delay paying that expense till you have the money? Live according to or lower than your means!

You've been around here shouting scam, I only wanted to share my story so that people will learn from me even though I owe you no explanation whatsoever, everything I stated on my original post is a fact.
Secondly, I did not ask anyone for assistance in any form and I don't wish to, someone mailed me offering assistant and I have refused to reply because that is not the purpose of this thread, another person here offered me 200k loan which I'm not even going to reply the person because I don't intend to touch anything loan in my life again.
So what is scam? Abi you don't know the definition of scam.
If I needed assistance of any form I would have stated it in my original post and I'm still not asking for anyone's assistance on nairaland at least.

I want to thank everyone who in one way or the other advised me, the good advice I have taken.
I reached out to my childhood friend and told him everything and he has offered to help out.
I didn't take the valium.
To everyone who asked how I got to that level, I started borrowing small amounts, because I was paying when due, the amount kept increasing and because most of them are of one week duration and salary comes at the end of the month, so I kept collecting to cover the previous ones and because I didn't want them to send damaging texts, I continued to pay and collect, that was how it all accumulated. At a point the salary became too small to offset the loans.
Please I beg everyone here, no matter how much you need, don't borrow at all, ask your friends for assistance instead.
God bless everyone that prayed for me.
Finally someone is busy saying scam here, I am not a scammer, some people reached out to me on this forum and I turned them down because I don't want more drama, I have enough trouble already to last me a lifetime, I don't want to add more to it.
God bless you all

Stop involving yourself in Betja or any other betting stuff.

You are single earning 100k a month.Live within your earning.Dont be an impulse spender or every weekend "dorimeee".

Unfriend those friends that add no value to your life.
As an average salary earner, get a small side hustle to boost your income.

Dont date a lady that will totally depend on your finances.Make sure she's working or doing biz.

Dont be a baff up dude with no investment.

Rent an affordable accommodation.Dont be like my friend that went to rent house in Lekki while he's mate are building houses in Mainland. He had to buy a canoe after.

Irrespective of what you say, your story just doesn’t add up. For the record, you can’t emotionally blackmail me. If you initially borrowed 5k and repaid, then kept borrowing from the same app, it will take months to get a bigger loan amount. How did yours become 700k? Even if you were taking from Peter to pay Paul, you still won’t get such amount. I still maintain my stance, this story is made up and you’re a scammer.

This is not the end bro....life is precious than giving up, as little as I am, I've experienced a lot that can last a lifetime but I never give up, I kept moving and hoping for better days ahead.

Learn from your past mistakes, try talking to a trusted counselor, and above all...live within your means, don't live to please everyone... you're even still single...as a nursing mum with a 7year old boy, we're living in an apartment not up to 50k, my colleagues at work will mock, people will talk and guess what? I don't give a damn, since I'm not lazy ,I believe my tomorrow shall be greater than today.

Nothing is new under the Earth....aye dun

Thank God for your life, as you ain't gonna kill yourself anymore....we all vote for this change, nobody is leaving. We shall all live to see the end IJN.

Furthermore, you talked about begging, being better than borrowing, I'm saying this to you that none is better, the best is to live within ones means.... people may desert you for living a low life today, but your consistency will make them respect you later when you make it in life.... begging brings shame and disgrace, it will make you loose your self esteem too.

Good evening lalsticlala and nairalanders,

I hope this makes front page.

Sometimes last year, I had an accommodation issue and I needed money to bail myself out of it,I called friends to borrow from bit none was forthcoming, so I delved into the world of loan sharks and that was where my life was ruined without any hope or remedy.
I have a job and I earn over 100k per month, the money I borrowed initially was what I could have paid comfortably without bathing an eyelid, but the problem is that these fintech and loan sharks can only give you a loan to pay back in one week with outrageous interests. When the loan I took matured, I didn't have money immediately to offset it because it was not the end of the month, I now borrowed from another loan app (these apps are designed in such a way that you must grant them access to your contacts, so that if you default for even a day, they will pull your contacts and send damaging messages to your contacts). So it has now become a continuous cycle of borrowing from one loan app to pay another to the extent that I'm now owing about 700k in loans, that's how bad and vicious it has become, everyday of the week, I receive one threatening message or the other and being a staff of an organisation, I try as much as possible to pay so that it doesn't get to my bosses in the office and now I'm in a quagmire, all efforts to come out of this have proved abortive, my family keep asking me what is wrong with me, the house I rented is a out to expire and I have no hope of renewing the rent because of loans with outrageous interests. I've sold the little property that I was able to acquire, all in a bid to get out of it but all to no avail.
This evening now, they are going to send damaging texts to my contacts but I don't care anymore, 'cos I'm going to end it all (20 tablets of diazepam 5mg will do the job and it will be painless, I will only sleep and wake up in eternity) I only pity my poor mum.
Please nairalanders, learn from bad experience, no matter what you are going through, never borrow money from any loan app, even if you are so sure of paying, something might go wrong and you will end up worst than ever.
My friends don't even pick my call anymore, because they know it's money I'm going to ask of, I'm tired and worn out, I had to let the girl I want to marry go because I can't drag another person's daughter into my mess, I'm no longer mentally stable, at a point my boss noticed and asked me why I always lose concentration, I just told him I'm fine.
Lalasticlala please take my post to front page so that others can learn from me.

Waking up in eternity in hell looks like a great thing to you. You know how long that'd last? Do you prefer that to fixing up things gradually here instead?

I have been following this thread because I've been in this kind of situation before and I thank God for delivering me.
When you borrow to pay a particular loan, you continue to borrow and because, the interests are usually high, at a point it becomes difficult to even pay with the money you are borrowing, in my own case what saved me was my family, they contributed money for me to pay off and become clear
Few questions for you.
Have you taken a loan from a loan app or loan shark before?
How does the op intend to scam you when he has repeatedly told you that he doesn't want anyone's help?
Bro, people are passing through a lot in the hands of these borrowers, the only remedy is not to get involved in the first place.

Honestly, I haven’t had any reason to borrow money from loan apps. I hardly ever borrow from friends. When I’m down financially, I will sooner drink garri or stay hungry than beg or borrow.

The OP can scam people who are very emotional. Scams such as this are common on nairaland.

Finally, I understand how loan apps work. There’s no way in hell he would have gotten that amount plus interest from a loan app.

I’d advise you read his initial post. It just doesn’t add up. For cases like this with what scammers have turned nairaland into, the rule of thumb, is to provide proof or REST.

Don't end your life [s] sell your body part or do suicide bombing at aso rock [/s]. Loan sharks are crazy, default if you can't. If only you edited your contact before using the app or telling everyone on your contact you lost your phone or the message is scam stuff.

I get your point that scammers are on the prowl on nairaland.
I do not hold brief for the op but there was a time I was owing fairmoney 150k, carbon 195k and palmcredit 35k at the same time, what happened was that I started small and was paying promptly as at when due and they kept increasing the loan until it started choking me, so imagine if this is the case with the op and from his screenshot I saw up to ten loan apps there, so don't just assume it's a scam because you have never been in this kind of situation before and you may never know.
What the op posted may or may not be a scam but having been in this kind of mess before I tend to believe him. It happens bro and he's not begging for help from nairalanders.
I will post my own story here one day.

You be mumu. Is it because of ordinary loan apps that you want to kill yourself? See me I dey owe close to 20 apps and I have no intention of paying those sharks. Over my dead body. Let's go to court, I'm ready to splash the cash
. Only carbon, branch and a few others are legit. Pls pay them coz they deserve it , good interest plus good tenor which a reasonable person should at least meet up. But you see those sharks like sokoloan etc that offer ridiculous interest to be paid in 7 days, they don't deserve mercy. They themselves know you can never meet up . They don't even have licence.. CBN can never such.

See the worse they can do is message ur contacts so next time you're borrowing, use fake contacts. I encourage everybody to borrow from those useless Chinese sharks and send them packing to their country. Weytin dem no fit try for their country they'll come here and be exploiting the citizens.

The op is not a liar, I have a friend who found himself in such a mess, truth is that he was borrowing from another app to pay, and through that his loan kept increasing with multiple loan apps I can count over 10 loan apps and op might be owing at least a minimum of about 50k in each app. Multiply it with the accumulated interest and that's his debt. The truth is I advise people do not borrow at all the bible even said it the borrower is sorrowful and a servant to the lender. Those people are notorious with their text messages and the can tarnish your image forever. This is why you should make reasonable friends that can help you in times of distress at least have a circle of friends that can raise even if it's 10k for you, if you have 3 or 4 friends at least that can raise such amount of money for you why then do you need to borrow. Another thing with the op is the type of lifestyle you are living, probably you live a fake life in other to impress people and at the end it backfires at you, instead of asking for help you choose to borrow that's why you where borrowing to pay which is disastrous. I will advise the OP sit down and weigh yourself and problem, is the loan worth taking your life? Even if you die what exactly did you die for Nothing I guess? Is 700k worth taking your life?? If you answer is no then follow these steps, go to church or reach out to a religious organization, tell them your problems don't hide at all be open and real. God hears the Humble and real, you will find out that people will rally round for you and help you. Then once you get the money pay them off completely don't waste time or start paying them in bits even if it is the original amount of loan you collected pay so that you reduce your debts and Finally never ever I repeat never ever borrow money from loan apps especially these untrusted ones call Soko or 9ja cash or Lcredit etc. They can ruin your life at least enough said...

What if the tablets do not kill you but make you brain damaged and turns you into a vegetable that needs 24/7 health care to do the basic daily activities like bathing and using the loo ??

Then you will be a bigger burden financially, emotionally and physically on your Mum. Think deeply about this 'cos not every one who attempts suicide succeeds and some of them do not die but become seriously brain damaged . Ponder on this.

At the point of taking money from them, you never realised they are "loan sharks." This is when the terms and conditions of the loan are clealy stated, and one could back out if not comfortable with these terms and conditions. It's only at the period of repayment of the loans that they suddenly becomes "loan sharks."

Wow! How much was the initial loan? They do 7 days, 14 days, or 1 month. So since the first matured before your salary and you borrowed from another, why didnt you offset with your salary? Hmmm...anyways, I once managed a loan recovery contact centre for two fintechs and here is how it works....

1. They wouldnt give you a first timer any large loan. They start in bits based on the strength of your recharges, age of your sim and its contacts, strength of your social media, type of device, your activities on the device, etc. They wont tell you they are sizing you up when they ask for permission to check your device and facebook so they could profile how much credit you're worth.

2. Once they are done, they will usually offer you less than 10k since all the collateral they have on you are just your sim and facebook contacts....I'm an heavy recharger and my profile didnt even merit me up to 10k. Any fintech that offers you more as a first timermust get tangible collateral such as your Salary accounts, letter from your coy, etc.

3. Again, they offer you for a short term and usually ask that you let them debit you automatically once the tenure expires.

4. If you do not pay or fund your account at the due date, they will start calling you to cajole you to pay. Afterall, you're still a customer. This will continue until they resort to calling one or two of your important contacts to beg you to pay.

5. If you still refuse to pay after 90 days, they will simply report you to credit bureau before writing it off as bad debt. This will hurt your future access to loans, some travels and some jobs.

So how did you get to 700k given this scenario? No fintech will borrow you that amount based on the strength of your contacts alone. Besides, even if this is true why would you kill yourself? Highest that could happen is number 5 above which is still better than suicide. Good luck.
I don't doubt him a bit. I was once in his situation when I got my job newly. I had to borrow from one fintech to pay another. In so doing, you will be given a little higher. I had all the loan apps on Google play even the scam ones that will ask you to pay certain amount with your atm card and latter refuse you the loan. The only thing that God used to bring me out is one contribution I have been doing and the first 28days I was paid.
The money I should have used for a tangible thing went into loan repayment.
But thank God, I'm free. I deleted all the apps ASAP. Even though, they still call me. I made sure I blocked all their numbers as soon as I politely tell them I don't need loan.

Wonder why some are thinking is a scam after all OP has not begged for money.

A friend took some loans not from the apps but still a professional loan company for her Hubby's surgery, last last the man died how the amount quadrupled she still doesn't understand till today.

There is something about those loans I think they are designed to make you unable to pay back, crazy interest rate. Those loans are a trap if you ask me best is not to borrow.

Branch is so legit.. I was a month behind repayment, they called me and we both agreed on the easiest paying terms which was convenient for me.. after a month of not paying Oo. They’re good

Bro I wish we have many people like you. this people are nothing but scammers, they are enslaving Nigerians and killing them emotionally, this is modern colonialization that this Chinese fuuls are doing to us. imagine they give 7k and expect you to pay 10k plus in a week, that's 7 days.
I just wish guys to troop in and get many loans from then and not to pay pack. they can do nothing and even CBN won't allow such interest. I know many people that are showing their anger now by making dake contact and borrowing as much as they can with no intention of paying back.
that's what they deserve and I highly recommend such. something that they cannever do it to their people they are here killing us and making us to go depressed and make suicide. Get more from them and don't pay back. Nothing will happen.
