itsekiri wey dae Ologbo ozour, the Edo natives in Ologbo are also from ijebu? it is just like saying warri came from ijebu when there are Edo natives there. They came from wherever they came from and they met Edo natives on ground, the town is traditionally an Edo town and nothing is changing that.

Tsola should be removed with immediate effect and the Itsekiri people should keep shut and no their place in history this is not European culture were you vote to hsve a king, kings in benin tradition are born and not elected, again the Itsekiri people should know their plsce in history, the Itsekiri are yoruba who are the subject of a bini king no mire to that and should remain so, the Olu stool is from the benin offshoot and has remained like that for centuries, why the sudden remainder that Itshekiris are yorubas and the benin royal stool that has led the Itsekiri people for centuries is now a foreign stool, the Oduduwa nation and itsekiri misguided populace if they want to have a better fight for self cultural identity they should join hands together to remove the emir of ilorin before you begin to attack your nearest neighbour's
All i see here is a mere case of the Itsekiri people find self identity from their insecurities benins are ruling them same case few years ago Yorubas were planning to remove the emir of ilorin for their own oba, again culture is not a democracy were you can choose kings with vote or support particularly the benin royal stool were the kings are born and not chosen the law that didn't favour Tsola will favour someone else in a blessing in disguise Tsola didn't make the requirement,
The oba of benin have the final say in all this

They are offshoot of ijebu people

Itsekiri does not appoint kings. If an Olu is demised they fall back to the Oracle with names of possible qualifying candidates which Thesame son (oyowoli) of the recently demised king Ikenwoli was among and his cousin
(Tsola) too and a host of other princes…the Oracle chose Tsola, why do otherwise? Itsekiri kingship is not merited or negotiable based on son of the demised king.

Consulting of Oracle to appoint a King in 2021?? shocked undecided undecided

I don't believe it works!! There is Human Hand behind d Scenes..
Don't be deceived!!

Some elders/chiefs influenced dat decision to favour d Young King, appointed!!
Leave dat Oracle Talk!!

Even in the election of d Catholic Pope at St.Peter Basilica, Rome, small Politics is involved.. smiley cool

My brother Efewestern, I want to correct something, Escravos (Ugborodo did NOT emanated or originated from Illaje, I solemnly disagree with your fact, and Ugborodo does not pay ancestral homage to any external origin or whatsoever, or rather reverse is the case ( eg Agorgboro) Agorgboro is an illaje dominated community sharing boundaries with Ugborodo on the shorelines and internal landmarks, but Agor is own and controlled by an Itsekiri community (Deghele) while Ugborodo (Escravos) is an 100% itsekiri origin and occupied. The name Ugborodo means a farm/Land in front of an ocean. I stand to be corrected if am wrong my brothers.

Thanks for the correction. I've met some Itsekiris from Ugborodo who have said they share same linage with the Ugbo people in Ondo, reason for my initial exertion. So if I may ask, where did the Ugborodo people migrated from? We all came from somewhere.

Also, does Agorgboro Identifies as Itsekiri or Ilaje? Is there any Itsekiri enclave in Ondo you might want to educate us on?

We are no longer comfortable with the rules because some misguided elements were trying to re-write our history to say we are Edos. This is the first of many stones to fall on their heads. I was warning some of these idiots not to radicalize Itsekiris with their propaganda. Because of money, that black b1tch wanna sell his heritage to bini. We recognize bini influence but we can never forget who we are not in a million years.

The way the Ologbo crisis was handled brought cracks between the relationship of Bini and Itsekiri. Most don't buy into the Bini brotherhood unlike before.

This recent crisis reveals a lot about Itsekiri's true alliance.

Stop tooting your horn. Na slave trade carry over 40 million yorubas to north America. Why the Igbos were fighting slave trade, your father's were selling themselves. Lagos was a former space coast so is Ghana Togo and Benin Republic that's why Yorubas are there. Slave trade did it. Not the bragging you claim. So shat up. Igbos are great people.
They have been rejecting slave trade they still do. But you people will not they will rather be rich slaves. Na get freedom.

PS I know bastards like you will get me banned but I dont care. I don't care if I am removed from this stupid and tribalistic platform.

So before the Ban. I just want to say fuk you full the guy that runs this. Fuk you Yoruba miscreants. Fuk you tribalistic bigot. Fuk you all
Oga dey calm down o, everything you wrote here is loaded with vulgarity and hate speech to the extent you already know you deserved to be banned.

Hhmmm... Who are these ones? African history/culture is really deep and complex. The whole kingship thing is fascinating. It's just like those days when kings used to have real powers.

Does the customary law have provisions for the appointment of kings? Is it strictly governed by the traditions of the village? If so, how will the court help in this case? I'm really curious as regards the meeting point of traditions and the law in Africa.

But there's a law quoted in the write up above. And yes customary and other laws govern Kings..no one is above the law.

Didn't you read up there that they originated from the yoruba tribe? Does the yoruba tribe have any trace originating from the south-south or the core niger-delta region? So how are they not immigrants when they are found in Delta state. I use to think Itsekiri originated from Benin.

Even the title of the King "Olu" is Yoruba...

Do the maths... Their names, Yorubaish, many of their words are Yorubaish..

Itshekiri tribe has Yoruba roots.. Simple!

The Itsekiri language is a major branch of the Yoruboid[2] group of languages, which as a group, is a key member of the Volta–Niger sub-family of the Niger–Congo family of African languages. Itsekiri is spoken by nearly 900,000 people in Nigeria as a first language and by many others as an additional language notably in the Niger Delta and in parts of Edo and Ondo states of Nigeria. The other key members of the Yoruboid group are Yoruba (22 million) and Igala (1.8 million) along with the various Yoruba dialects spoken in Benin and Togo.

These are Yoruba names and titles
it is the Ooni and co that wants to change the ancient landmark because the mother is from Ogun state. if all follow the norms there is no need for confusion, but when some sects are hellbent for installing another, they must look for one loop hole or the another , but then there are those who are qualified and they will not take it lying low; that is why you see this tussle. who wan make another person take him position?

Oga nobody is against Tsola becoming king because his mum is Yoruba, rather it’s his cousin (oyowoli) who’s trying to bring him down with such reason which is an outdated norm…the royal Oracle and entire Itsekiri nation has chosen Tsola there’s nothing anyone can do.
And mind you the Oyowoli is not struggling this because Tsola mom is Yoruba but he is doing this because some foolish and selfish persons are pushing him forward, if u know u know.
that is the reason given here!the mother must be from benin or warri but this one is a yoruba mum!!
