you guys lack understanding of modern military warfare doctrine.
The Nigerian Navy has a combat unit that is tailored towards the marine component of the US navy. The marine is a separate fighting force but they are under the navy, The Nigerian Navy as combatant unit that fights on land, sea, and Air. the Air component is still in its infancy stage. Having their desert warfare unit moving to kano is no big deal. learn before jumping on stuff you have little ideas about. Morden navy does not fight on the sea alone.

The country's Naval base is not what they are moving. Its a subsidiary of the Navy that deals more on landed areas (desserts) than water areas.
