Good Afternoon Friends,

I want to apply to a 2-year diploma of Advance Study in Business Analytics in New Brunswick Community College but already have a Master degree (MBA) in 2014, ND and HND in Accounting 2010. I am 34 years old and self employed.

I want to use my ND and HND only for admission without including MBA.

I am now wondering if there won't be a red flag if I apply for Canadian study visa.

Will the visa officer not say I am pursuing a diploma which is lower to MBA?

Will the VO not suspect anything?

I need your thorough advice. Kindly assist.

Still I am learning a lot every minutes on this thread, big ups to you guys.

I graduated with a degree in public administration with a 4.08CGPA and currently self employed and running a family business. At some point I of my deliberations, I would ever want to study Social work for masters in Canada but I'm kinda scared that I might be rejected visa because of choice of course.

What are my chances if I should seek admission in social work or should I stick to MSC in political science (incl international relations, public policy) or would a master in business management be a good choice of course?

Hi, nice weekend to you too. From your Gtbank app, select send statement to embassy, you will be charged about #1,780 for it and a ticket with a password will be generated for you. I hope that helps.

Hello, you can generate it yourself from your banking app.

Log in, you’ll see an arrow pointing right then swipe that region towards the left, select “Account statement” , select “send statement to embassy” ,fill the form. Destination is Canada.

The ticket would be sent to the email address you registered with the bank. Download it and attach it to your application.

Cheers.

I doubt if WAEC or NECO result influences admission decisions of admission committee on an applicant for Masters. Hopefully GRADUATES SCHOLARS on this platform would shed more light on that for you.

Bachelor's degree (a minimum of 2.1) is what is mostly required to do a Masters in Canada . Your TRANSCRIPT (student copy also known as unofficial copy) is one of the most important Document needed to apply. So you need to get it from your school in Nigeria.

There are two types of Masters degree - Course-Based Masters & Research-Based Masters (also known as thesis-based masters)

If you are going for a Research-based Masters in Canada, you need to secure a Supervisor (Professor),once the supervisor accepts you to his Research group/Lab, that's a green light you have gotten the admission. The prof. would guide you further on the next step.

If you are going for a Research Based Masters in CANADA, take your time and go through all contents in the link below
https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/175#102878887

Course-based Masters has nothing to do with Research. You would only be going for lectures.

Lastly no one can tell if you would get admission with the mentioned CGPA, cos 2.1 is the minimum admission requirements for Masters in Canada, though some have mentioned on this forum that they got a Masters Admission with a 2.2. So it might be possible.

That being said, await more contributions from others to your question

Hello Kudiratu28,

Confederation College isn't entirely a poor study hub despite its poor ranking. George Brown College is also a good one too and ranks higher than Confederation.

If you fortify yourself with adequate research, you may be able to attain PR with a 1-year program. To do it conveniently, a 2-year program is ideal or you can decide to pursue a second program of 6 months or 1-year at length to get a 3-years work permit under PGWPP.

If you see a program that suits your profile accordingly and demonstrates progression and that has a WIL component whether it's a 1-year or 2-years study, grab it.

Best of Luck

Hello Just mellow, I'd like to ask a question on this please.

If I understand you correctly, does it mean if I can a run a six months program upon completion of my one year program, the combination of both can qualify me for a 3yrs pgwp?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by websta: 4:27pm On Jun 19, 2021
You mean how my BSc CGPA will affect my admission or Visa approval?
EmeeNaka:
The Course you should go for should be connected to your current role. That's the only way it will make sense to a VO. Graduate Certificate ( Post Graduate), is a way to go, though I don't know how your CGPA in your BSc will affect it. Gurus will speak further on that.

Yeah, Usually there is that advice that those that got second class upper and above should go for Masters and not Post Grad Diploma.

Thanks for the news!
#March 12 Applicant and eligibility hasn't begun as well
RxOtunba:
For March applicants that eligibility review hasn't started on your GCKey account, please keep calm, work is going on, and eligibility has started but not updated yet.

I mailed Windsor's MP to find out about the status of my application, and last night, I was forwarded the email from IRCC which states;

-The application was received at the Canadian visa office in Nairobi, Kenya, on March 11, 2021.

-The criminality verifications (biometrics) are passed.

-The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if the applicant meets the eligibility requirements for a study permit.

N.B: My GCKey shows that eligibility review hasn't begun. So let's keep hopes high #Happy Weekend Canada pipu

Hello House,it is stated on my portal that I don't need a medical exam..is there any negative implication to this?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by CrownTdan: 5:02pm On Jun 19, 2021
Thank you @Zodiacwarrior.

Additional clarifications needed please.
- Yes, my final destination is toronto, but i've heard a couple of people say you will not be allowed to board from Nigeria if you don't have a return ticket - is this valid?
- Lufthansa, BA and KLM transit via Europe. I read there's a restriction on Nigerians (without a PR or Green Card) flying to North America transiting through Europe.
the said post indicated that we can only fly through the middle East at the moment. is this valid also? (I'm yet to come across any official communication regarding this, hence my concern)

Zodiacwarrior:

Good day @CrownTdan

You can book a one way ticket to Toronto if that's your final destination. But if not it would be better to book a multi-city ticket as this is usually asked at the Port of entry.

Apps for booking one way ticket are listed below.

Ethiopian
Luthfasana
British airways
Egypt air
Klm

Hope this helps.
