jfrazzy: Oga it's not easy at all. I have a friend too still waiting for decision since October 2020. My own is since Jan and I am already feeling depressed. I can imagine how you feel everyday to check your email and GC Key without any update. Almost 9 months looking for visa. IRCC should deliver the visa for you like a new born baby. 9 months no b moi moi I wouldn't ask you to send webforms and emails to IRCC because we know their usual generic response. God will see us through this immigration process. Don't worry this new week shall bring good news to all PPRs and MRs hopefuls. It will end in praise. 15 Likes |

michazy:Yes they do, but not as much as US does Reasons are; - in Canada is not up to 300, USA has over 3,000 Universities (OPP, OPG) - Another reason is CGPA, Loads of USA universities do consider some 2.2 applicants (with the right graduate program application packaging) for Fully-funded Graduate opportunities , unlike Canadian Universities whose requirement is a minimum of 2.1 So based on the above reasons, it is expected that USA would/should have more funding Opportunities than Canada. I read a tweet yesterday, and I quote, If you’re looking for a country where you can easily get an admission, consider UK If you’re looking for a country where you have better scholarship options, consider US If you’re looking for a country where you have better chances of getting a foreign passport, consider Canada If getting a scholarship is a big part of your study abroad plans, and getting one in Canada is looking elusive, you can work out a smart plan Consider the US as a study destination, and work towards your Canadian Permanent Residence application from there. That’s a smart plan. Credits : @Olufemiloye If you need an explanatory information on how to go about Fully-funded Graduate School in Canada, take your time and go through the contents in the link below https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/175#102878887 To your Second Question, "Is the Canada students visa the same for the funded and self-funded students? Yes it is , but there is a way they have to Show their proof of funds (based on the tution waiver + stipends gotten) and Compulsorily Show Strong Ties to their home country (that is, after their Studies in Canada, they would come back to their home country) since they are not sponsored by their Family (Dad, Mum or Sibling) That being said, take your time & go through the Contents in the two links below How to Show Strong Ties to Home Country https://www.nairaland.com/6321900/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/226#98824852 How to show Proof of Funds for a Fully-funded Scholarship applicant going to a Canadian University (Based on the experience of some graduate scholars in Canada) https://www.nairaland.com/6321900/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/384#99902954 10 Likes 3 Shares |

iampaulsmith: Congrats once again, what do you mean by the bold statement? Do you mean the border officer can issue a study permit longer than the one stated on the approved letter people always get when their application was approved? Would the officer have also issued a work permit if you had said yes to working part time? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by olasubomy: 8:45am On Jun 20, 2021 |
wildchild1: I think the CBSA officer was just using psychology on him in asking those questions to see if he is really genuine, and he passed the test with a smart response. It is part of their job to do that to enable them to detect the intention of an immigrant. 2 Likes |

Please everyone! I submitted my application for the second since last month and I have not heard from them. How long does it takes to hear from IRCC after submission? Biometric already done and updated from my first application! |

Elyasix: Have you gotten the NSE request? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by IntimidationJay: 9:04am On Jun 20, 2021 |
jfrazzy:it’s not true! The ask for it when they have looked at your bank account and you have had up-to 30,000 CAD for at least 6months. I think that’s the only criteria they look for. Because the asked me to switch to NSE, 2 days after I had submitted my application, they wouldn’t have reasonably been able to review my entire application in 2 days to determine whether to give me visa. 1 Like |

May the land of Canada favor you .. Are you truly not going to work part time or 'No' is just the right answer for everyone to say? Asking on behalf of those of us that will be working part time. iampaulsmith: 11 Likes |
