In his prime, it is Haram to compare him to Rodri and Jorginho. He is too intelligent, hardly ever dispossessed, always picks the right pass, incredible reading of the game to make timely interceptions.

But for some years now, he has become too slow and lacks stamina to cover grounds and control mildfield for 90 minutes. And this deficiency of his is being heightened by Barca's poor defence. A slow DM playing with this current Barca side is on a suicidal mission.

So i blame every Barcelona manager that has managed him since pep Guardiola left the club with the exception of Tata Martino. All those other coaches really didnt play through the midfield like pep and Martino. Their tactics was just to get the ball to messi asap instead of that slowly build up that involves everyone on the pitch. The set up is generally wrong,the approach is faulty and that is why is the reason for those heavy scoreline defeat. Not a spineless DM as many of you will want us to believe.

The only wack player was Victor Valdes. Busquets was wack (as a DM) but very good technically. As a CM, he would be very good. Iniesta was a very good player but could not compare to other AMs of his era.

There were some very underrated players in that team too who were solid as a rock and helped Barcelona when game went physical. I am talking Seydou Keita and Eric Abidal.
