Could you please tell me how long it took you to get the doc after DIY.
I’ve renewed like twice (thru IOs) all because I learnt it takes very long for appplicants doing it by themselves to get the the issued document.
Current one is expiring next April. Won’t mind the DIY way if it doesn’t take long also.

PS: Don’t forget the usual booklet scarcity as a factor too.

It came out in one month, but I didn’t go pick it up immediately. They are trying to redeem their image now, I don’t know how long it would last.

Just discovered that my surname is missing a letter in my birth certificate. Its funny that i'm just realizing now, although it hasn't caused me any issues before. Do you guys think it'll be a problem ? if yes, whats the best way to fix. All other docs are correct.

Funny my middle name was missing a letter too and na me notice am after capturing. They didn’t notice. I don’t think they are clinical enough to spot such little error.

I applied for a new passport since last year August2020 and was called for capturing at the immigration headquarters Abuja in March 2021 till now I have not received my passport....they kept on saying no booklet and as I speak have lost out on an opportunity to go to Poland....please help out nairalanders am depressed already

What do I need to take along to the immigration office?

What's the procedure?

Get the guarantor form signed by your guarantor.
A passport photograph of your guarantor attached to the form
Take the form to high court, go to the ICT office down floor and pay 2k.200 to include receipt printout.
Move to the next office and get the form signed and stamped (passport photograph inclusive) after they must have sighted your payment receipt.
Go upstairs to the commissioner of oaths office and get it stamped and signed again.

You are done.

1) printout a copy of your passport application form, acknowledgement form , payment slip, E - passport form to be collected and filled
2) copy of LGA ID, birth certificate/attestation,copy of your NIN, Guarantor form, Guarantor Driver's license or NIN, copy of Guarantor Passport bio-data page.

Ensure to arrange them in this format as I have listed them in an office file and attach your 2 passport photograph to the edge of the file (inner part) left side.

E-passport application form can be gotten by the business centre beside the NIS office.

Got to 3rd floor second office on your right and submit

Yesterday(17th june is my interview date) I went to the passport office in Akure, strictly DIY.
I went there around 1:30pm, with my complete documents.
My documents was filed and I got interviewed after which the file was vetted, I was called for capturing at around 5:10pm.
I was captured but unlike others I didn't get the printout which contained the enrollment number and collection date( I saw the collection date on the screen 28.06.2021).
I hope not knowing the enrollment number won't later be a problem.
I was the only DIY, others paid through one of the officers in excess of 35-50k.
Most of the folks doesn't even know they can pay themselves.

My Guarantor doesn't have NIN or Drivers' Licence. Will the other documents be acceptable?

I did it 4days ago(Wednesday) did capturing same day . It was a lost passport. I just paid the money. I didn’t even go with any document. I just paid money and was captured even in less than an hour .

Hi all,

I am trying to do a change of name due to marriage on my passport which has expired

But the issue is that the change of name I did on my NIN for more than one month now is yet to reflect so I can't use Ikoyi passport Office.

Who knows if Abeokuta requires NIN for application? Is there any office in the SW that doesn't require NIN.

I appreciate any assistance I can get in this regard.

I did the DIY, my interview date was set in April next year. I contacted someone at the NIS headquarters in Abuja, she said to come with my complete documents as the date doesn't matter. Just signed my guarantors form, I'll be there as early as possible on Monday.

My dear, it doesn't matter. I am right here with someone who has same issues. No one seems to care as long as you've made payment and have all necessary documents, you're free to go. Speaking from NIS headquarters Abuja
