Not everyone has someone that bears the same surname and earns such huge amount of a salary like 400k a month to act as a sponsor to them.
E.g my dad's salary is around 200k and I have no other relation with the same surname that can act as my sponsor, that's why I'm using the credit card option. I get your point but the sponsor stuff is also very difficult for some people.
blessednendowed:

Please note guys the problem with self sponsor is not that you cannot use self sponsorship. The issue is that self sponsorship can get complex and wrap you into a lot of mess if you do not handle it with care. Why? Because when you are self sponsoring you also have to show the source and you have to show continuous access to the required funds you need for your entire studies.

Having A sponsor with employment and using their payslip for example shows the embassy that there will be continuous access to funds needed for your entire studies because this person is a salary earner so there will be consistent income coming in.

Let me enlighten you on why self sponsorship gets complicated ok:

1. If you are self sponsored and you use payslips. This means you currently have a job. Therefore if you are going to use your own payslips, then you have to also accompany that with a leave of absence from work (meaning your boss has to permit you leaving for studies) and you have to proof that your job will still be guaranteed available to u when u return back to nigeria. Then remember that leave of absence has to be a a paid leave of absence because you have to show you will continue earning a salary even while you are away on studies.
You see how complex it gets when you are self sponsored.

2. Now if you are self sponsored and use credit card you still have to some how show how you got this money. Additionally, if you are using credit card and self sponsoring and you show enough money on the card for 1 year for example what happens to the other years of study how will you fund that. Do you see how self sponsorship may be complicated.

3. The one way I have seen self sponsorship kind of work and someone made mention of it here too I think @necz is if for example you if you get a credit card in your name and perhaps get a notarized letter from a sponsor stating within the letter that she or he funded your cc with the required amount. In essence it just helps to show the source of your funds.

Guys self sponsorship can be done but it gets messy if not properly handled as a result lots of denials occur with self sponsorship. Having A sponsor just makes things easier....

I hope it makes sense now..

He already explained this na. Do the credit card and have your sponsor state that the card was given to you by him and he'd keep funding you if the card is maxed out

You can choose to listen to other “many” people or you can choose to listen to the truth and fact. It’s your choice .
The truth and fact is that you do not have to bear the same surname as your sponsor for polish embassy.

Just an FYI Guys it is now apparent the embassy is changing the game a little bit ok . Most likely they are making an attempt to weed out the genuine students from the not so genuine students. The embassy MAY ask a few questions during submission of your docs for visa. Doesn't matter if you are going for Bachelors or Masters . Please be prepared to answer questions. The questions are actually random ok. So it may not be the same for everyone.
In general be sure to know why your chosen course, why your chosen school, why Poland, your sponsor's name, your intent after studies etc ...
No cause for alarm if you are a genuine student ok then these are very simple questions. I would not call it an interview. However, I would suggest that whether you are going for BSC or MSC be prepared. So to my peeps who used an agency or used someone else to do everything on your behalf from admission to documentation. Bikonu I beg you better be atleast familiar with your course , school, poland, your sponsor etc and all the docs that you are submitting. So that you do not get caught by surprise and to avoid stories that touch

Copied.

for financial proof...

You need to provide a payslip from a sponsor, sponsorship letter, certificate of employment and work ID. Ideally the payslip should around 500k upward.

Or you go to bank and open a credit card account and put money inside. Request for a certificate of the account and submit it to the embassy

Hey, Did you translate your certificate into Polish? Thanks

They are random ok . No two people are asked the same question. Just ensure you know know the following just to name a few:

1) Why you chose to study in poland
2) Why you chose your course
3) Your intentions at the end of your course
4) if you are going for Masters they may ask what your bachelors was in and how it is related to your masters ok
5) Know your sponsors details like name etc
6) how the course you are taking will benefit you
7) Did you pay for or reserve accommodation ?

Questions like that . If you are a genuine student nothing to worry about. They are easy questions.
remember the questions may vary from individual to individual

Many schools in poland will accept to give you admission despite the gap ok.
most schools in poland do not really care about gaps in education.
Now when it comes to the embassy. No one is the consular here so no one can really tell you whether you will be issued a visa or not based on your age.
I know a few people who were in their 30s and got a study visa to poland for bachelors. In as much as I know a few people who were below their 30s studying a bachelors who were denied visa.
If there is any embassy that does not really look much into age gaps... I would say that is the polish embassy.

My single advise is that you should just give it a try ok. Give it a shot. It is worthwhile. Just ensure you meet all the requirements for visa. Make sure all your ducks are in a row and give it a chance. It may just turnout fine . Just do your part very well and let the consular make that decision.

Guys I want to clarify something because of the mass private emails I have been receiving.
If you have any questions concerning this poland study visa process please post it here. I or others will do the best to respond to your questions.
Do not send me a PM asking me to help you guide you through the visa process. All the guidance you need has already been specified here.
If there is anything you still need clarification on post it here. I will respond so others can learn from it.

I am not going to sugar coat it. If you contact me outside of this NL forum asking me for help with this visa process or anything like that I will refer you back to this forum and if you insist I will charge you a consultation fee. I am not an agent but I cannot be spending extra time privately for free to guide you on what has already been specified here or what you can just post here for answers.

I am willing to offer my advise here on NL. If you PM outside of here for guidance for visa process and I refer you back here and you insist I will offer you my consultation fee period. Because I and others have spent precious time here on NL and are continuously willing to respond to your questions here. So please be clear on that . Thank you.

I used my Payoneer account to fund Transferwise and then transferred it to the school. You can use agent which are expensive or get a dollar card to fund transferwise & pay the school

I have emailed the school and their response is that they do not issue an invoice for foreign transactions because of the fluctuations in exchange rate, my school is also Opole.. have you been able to make the tuition fee payment via form A and if yes, how did you make the payment?
