I'll tell you one thing that has worked for me and it is that you can simply eliminate alot of your life problem by living uprightly and being a good person. We sometimes think being good is for the other person, it is true, but it is mostly for ourselves.

This is me you are talking to, I have been battling with the thought of disappointment with myself that keeps popping up in my mind each time I am having a quiet time.
I lost soo much in many years of my life because of addiction.
I was so addicted to smoking that every aspect of my life was built around the habit.
I made wrong decisions, terrible choices, kept wrong friends and today, God rescued me, I have quit the habit which makes me happy, but I am confronted with fear of where do I go from here or where do I start from!?..I feel all the opportunity I wasted won't come again, I try to convince myself that, God is preparing me for a better life, but the human in me is so weak that after conceiving those thoughts, the joy doesn't last before I go back to the negative thoughts again, I am so confuse that I don't even know if I should hold on and wait for the positive I envisioned or I should just....so confuse but I will keep calling and hoping on the mercies of the God that called me out if that dark pit..op thanks for this post it means a lot to me...

For everyone tryna stop any addiction, don't ever stop it because you believe it's the cause of all your problem.

Don't ever take spirituality as the sole reason you wanna stop a particular habit unless your devotion to spiritual activities is unbreakable because your challenges are bound to prevail for some times even if they actually have some spiritual undertones. Disappointment is one of the most powerful weapons the devil uses to keep people under his control. He uses is to frustrate your efforts so you go back to committing sins you already atone for.

So if ever you want to stop any addiction of any kind, carry out a personal analysis about your life see how it has been affecting your growth as a person (memory loss, physical weakness, or reduction in any of your normal abilities). With consistency, you will definitely see progress and that will keep you going for a long time.

my brother u just summarize my life I was having 3 dangerous addictions which are going to brothels, betting and masturbation, I started brothel ist, 2010, mastrbation 2011,then betting 2014, doing this period I was a shadow of myself I lost every thing . 2019 I quit betting 2020 October I quit masturbation within this period of quitting this two habits I have a good job me I have good clothes I now look healthy I have close to a million naira in my account i now even have a business of my own were i do wholesale on drinks me that use to beg people 50 naira for tfare o, I began to gain respect from people that use to look me like useless, the last addition which was the brothel that I started ist is the real battle at the moment went there 3 weeks ago if I can quit this addition then I will say is a Miracle. Quitting masturbation and betting is a Miracle for me and I can see the wonders in my life bro I need ur daily counseling to help me be a normal human being again
